Hello Everyone. It's been 23 weeks since I last updated and I know, I know that's terrible but there was reason. I've been going through a lot of family and personal drama lately that caused me to fall very ill, I am better now though! I gave it a lot of thought and decided that this would be my last chapter, so it took me a while to get it to an ending I was content with. I have a bit more to say but I don't want to spoil anything so I would really appreciate it if you would read the paragraph at the end of the story. One Last Time Now: ENJOY~

Feliciano had visited Seychelles a few times in his long life and he'd never truly appreciated it but now, in Europe's cold, lifeless contrast, it was magnificent. People bustled around the countries capital, laughing, smiling, living and it was unblemished by blood or by wire. He could remember the last time he'd been there, with Ludwig and Kiku, they'd gone swimming and he'd fallen in love but that didn't matter anymore.

Once they'd landed a young lady met them and took them on a different path then the rest of the refugees. All three of the sat in silent anticipation as they were driven through the streets This is it Feli he told himself this is all the world is anymore, these are the people you need to protect. The car pulled up beside an large, wooden house: it was worn and old but it proudly looked over the city and he couldn't deny it held a certain charm. Salt and Sand swept into them as they approached the house so they breathed as deeply as they could, trying to trap the scent forever.

Inside the house was a long, winding hallway lined with doors and archways, each of which lead into lavishly furnished bedrooms, sitting rooms and even a large library but still they were led past each exit. They were stopped at the end of the hallway before a grand door and their guide gestured for them to enter and stepped out of the way. Feliciano glanced to the others who stood beside him, ready to face all that remained, ready to find their new home. Inhale. He clasped the doorknob, trying unsuccessfully to make out the soft voices from the next room. Exhale. The hinges creaked loudly as he swung the door open, revealing a small sitting room filled with stools and fold out tables.

Almost instantaneously, a chair was flipped backwards and someone ran towards them "Lovi, Feli!" she shouted, wrapping her arms around the brothers "I thought you were dead…Thank god. Thank god!" Feliciano couldn't see her face but the tickle of golden hair and familiar warmth could only be from Belgium.

His arms squeezed tightly around her and Lovino cut back a sob "We thought you were dead Bella! We thought you'd…it doesn't matter anymore though".

After Belle released them beaming and crying at the same time, she planted a kiss upon both boys foreheads before letting them see the others that had surrounded the newcomers. He scanned the circle, Ukraine, Latvia, Scotland, Seychelles, Hong Kong, Cuba and Romania were welcoming them, each one beaming. Victoria was the next to rush in and hug them, welcoming them and trying to fill them in but Feliciano couldn't catch a word of what she said.

That night they learnt just how bad the situation was. They heard about the city of Tokyo which was now entirely carpeted by a squirming mass, 2 stories deep. They were told about Toris, who'd lost all his people and faded away. They learnt about the Turkish Cannibals who wore human flesh to hide themselves. They told their own stories too. They spoke of Spain who never made it to Brussels, they told everyone of Gilbert who'd died at the cruelty of another, of Amy and Meagan who had saved their lives, of Ludwig and Arthur and Francis and Vash and of everything they'd seen. It felt different now though, the stories were just stories now, it wasn't their reality. They were safe, they were not alone, they even had a future. These stories would fade, better ones would take place but they all promised never to forget, even if they could.

"It's been nine months since I lost you" Or at least that's how long Lili said "and I hope that you are happy where you've gone. We finally gave you a proper goodbye last week, you probably saw me cry and I know you don't like it when I do but it's only because I miss you. I promise I'll keep smiling from now on, I've even got things to smile about again. They said they've almost found a vaccine, and if we have that we can win back our planet…I hope Gilberts okay now, I hope he's not scared anymore he was so scared when he…" Feliciano inhaled sharply and clenched his fingers against the cold stone This isn't what you're here for Feliciano. "I wanted to apologize Ludwig. If- If I'd done more then perhaps you wouldn't-" That's not true, It was not your fault, Ludwig's voice resonated in his mind: Calming him, organizing his thoughts. He took a step back from the gravestone, reading over the words he'd chosen to be etched into it.

Ludwig Beilschmidt. Beloved brother, friend.

Did it really do him justice? Feliciano couldn't help but feel it lacked something, some title that he deserved but never received. That's why you're here. fix it. He opened his mouth to speak, inhaling sharply "There's something I never go to tell you Ludwig and I couldn't leave things like this…" Suddenly his words jumbled and his mind scattered, leaving him silent for several moments "D-Do you remember, all those years ago when Prussia died but before he came back, and we sat in that park after the funeral talking about all sorts of things. And you said…you said you were happy that he'd died because being a nation is an awful thing. I didn't know what to say but it always stuck with me, that no matter how happy you were in the moment, you thought death was better."

He stopped, the sun was setting and it was getting harder to read the stone but the bold lilac and crimson horizon warmed his heart, filling him with determination. You have to do this, you can't leave it like this.

"I thought I was naïve, not thinking that way but after everything I've seen I can say that you were wrong. The world was falling apart and yet people wouldn't stop fighting to stay alive, I could not stop fighting and it wasn't a choice it was something deep down. Telling me, telling us to keep going. I didn't see it then but now, in Victoria, people are laughing again, they're reallylaughing, and mourning and falling in love, we didn't get to do those things out there, even before we never really got to." You're stalling, You need to do this!

"What I'm saying is there is always something better then all of the death and war and lying and that is worth fighting for. Even though I didn't want to, I thought you were right so I didn't fight for the things I wanted. I thought Nations aren't meant to be happy and Nations can't want things and Nations aren't allowed to fall in love."

Stalling.

"But I was happy and I did want things and…even through everything that happened, I believed it could get better and now we're here and I can laugh and mourn and I can be in love!" His eyes shot down embarrassed, as if some reaction would come but Ludwig was buried, even if he was still with Feliciano. With you. In love with you. with you. with you. with you "In love with you". The words slipped seamlessly from his mind and through his lips, they seemed so perfect. "I love you Ludwig. Always" He could have sworn it was Ludwig who warmed that moment, who ran the wind through his hair but no one would have believed him.

It was dark when he finally decided to leave Ludwig's side and he spent several minutes after that running his hands back over the stone. Just once more, just once more. He heard his brothers voice calling for him from the roadside and he sighed, kneeling on the grass for one last goodbye. "Hey Ludwig? I'll come back and visit you all the time, I promise! I'll come back every week and talk to you but you have to promise me something in return. When I see you next, however many years that may be" he smiled, dying didn't seem to scare him anymore but neither did living "you need to let me kiss you so I can prove that it is worth fighting for." He didn't say anything else, he didn't feel he should say goodbye so he stood up and walked towards his brother. He didn't look back and no one would have believed him but he could have sworn he heard Ludwig whisper back I love you too.

So, it's been just over a year since I published the first chapter of this fanfiction and I've finally finished it! I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, or at least that I managed to finish it! I think my writing also improved quite a bit over this story. But most of all I'm really happy that so many people liked my story and I want to thankyou all for putting up with my sporadic, long updates (especially that last one). If I could ask one more thing, I would love to hear any advice you guys have for me?

Was there a better way to end it? Did I leave an important plot piece untied? Is there something bad I've consistently done?

It would be so helpful to be and I'd love you for it.

On another subject, in the future I am hoping to publish some other stories that take place within this apocalypse but with other people. So far I'm definitely taking a further look into France & England's journey, All the stuff that's happened up in Scandinavia (I didn't mention much of that in this story though. oops) and how Ukraine & Latvia ended up in Seychelles. Obviously these will take a while to get started and they will probably have the same update schedule as this one but they WILL come so if you are interested you should keep an eye out for them. Also I've worked out what pretty much all the characters have been up to, even though I didn't write about them so if you want to hear about someone let me know and I'll make sure it's in an upcoming story.

And before I go, one last thankyou because you guys are amazing! Thankyou!
