Rin's at it again, her rage feared by all but her loving "Brother" Kaito. Len's at death's door when Rin tries to help him. Neru is fed up being infamous and being the one stuck taking care of Haku. Miku is tired of being popular and she's back to stalking Kaito, even as other's stalk her. And Haku? Well Haku is used to this torcher, and of course bleeding from the nose.

17. Chapter 16

CHAPTER 16

Len ignored the screech at first, until Neru's head turned away from him toward the sound. Even before he turned his head he knew it was Rin. He knew she would do something desperate.

He turned to look at her.

He saw the cuts, the blood, the mess. He saw her terror, her anxiety, her heart stopping.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Rin shrieked it a high voice, that ringed through the hall. He felt what she was going to say before she said it. "What is this Len?" she cried out, tears, and blood, flowing. She was rooted to the spot. And he knew it was in fear. She was afraid that if she moved he would move to.

Her hands were shaking from the stress, pain, and blood loss. Len could see it. He knew.

He knew that Rin knew. Knew that he was done with her. He could feel her horror radiating from her.

"LEN!" Rin screamed, "LEN?" Her eyes were large, wide, crazed. Len couldn't help smirk at her. a gruesome smile. "Please tell me this isn't…." She shrieked again, her voice choked off at the end. Len smiled wider at her, mocking her now. "Len don't." she whispered in a plea. "Please, Len."

Her hands were shaking more violently now, Len knew that Neru would see it.

He looked over Rin again. Blood, cuts, fear. All fresh. All things Neru would definitely see. sleepless eyes, shaking hands, horror. Not so new. But things Neru would eventually see. Old scars, heartbreak, pain. Old things. Things Neru might notice.

He didn't want Neru to see any of it.

Len's eyes glinted with something he knew would set Rin off.

"P-please," Rin cried out. "Don't!" she clutched her shaking hands into fists. Her nails dug into her skin causing more blood to flow. Len's smile creeped up his face, until it turned into a Cheshire grin.

"Please don't Len," she sobbed quietly.

"Please Len," Rin looked down and closed her eyes, and whispered, "I love you."

She had moved. Unknowingly she had triggered her own downfall. What she feared was true. When she moved he moved.

Rin looked back up to meet Len's glowing eyes.

Len glared back as he mouthed the words. "Bye Rin."

He wanted Neru to look away. He didn't want her to see Rin. He didn't want Neru to see what loving him did to people.

He couldn't stand the pressure. That Neru might see the deeper things in Rin. That she might discover what he was hiding.

He turned Neru's face away from the scene, and brought his lips to hers.
