Beloved
A -man story
ch. 7 Kanda

Whenever someone new came to the headquarters of the Dark Order, it was clear to everyone. How? That person always had one of two expressions, or some sort of combination, and those were awe and shock. Evidently, Yuu also displayed these emotions, just not as much as others.

The moment the "god damn fucking" long staircase ended, he was greeted with a large open area, bigger that anything he had seen back at the Asia Branch. Well, in the small section he had been kept in. The place itself wasn't much decorated or anything, but the sheer size of it all was what made it intimidating.

Tiedoll chuckled, instantly grabbing the younger's attention and making him blush a bit. "Come on, we must go to see the supervisor so he can register you" He didn't like the sound of that "Register?" "Oh, nothing to worry about" The general started as they made their way through the halls "It's just basic stuff, name, age, innocence type and whatnot. There are just some papers you fill up. Then I think we'll have to pass by to the medical ward and-" "What!?"

The sudden shout made the elder jump a bit as he froze in his walking and turned around to see a slightly panicked Yuu staring right into his soul "Oh, right; don't worry about it, they just want some blood sample so they can get some for you if you get injured too badly, a record of diseases, basic stuff. They won't do anything to you"

This, however, didn't really make the other feel any better "I don't need their blood! I can heal by myself just fine" He burst past the general, hurrying up the stairs to get it over with so they can leave. No way in hell was he going to go to a hospital thing. He wasn't ready for shit like that again. Froi didn't complain, just started walking.

As they were walking, Yuu became slightly annoyed, hearing all the random comments some of the people were throwing around about him being so young. Well screw them; he was way stronger than any little prick in the entire hall. Who cares what they said anyway. But, one comment grabbed his attention, to the point he spun his head around to throw a death glare, daring the guy to say it again. "Damn, that idiot brought in another one. Those guys have no heart"-my ass, he thought as he quickened his phase again.

"Here we are!" In front of them was a large wooden door. Tiedoll lost no time to knock. A second later an old male voice rang "Come in" and so they did. It was a round-ish room with maps of the entire world all around, a large desk and a couch in the middle. At said desk sat a man, scribbling on some papers while smoking; grey hair sitting messy on his head. The general pushed his apprentice forward, silently telling him to sit down.

The man finished whatever he was doing, eyed the paper and, with a satisfied nod, placed it on top of a few others. He then turned his attention to his new visitors. The first person he noticed was Tiedoll who was happily waving and pointing to the couch, where he saw a small little boy with surprisingly dark eyes. "Oh?"

"Good evening, hope we're not disturbing?" The supervisor turned back to the general with a perfect poker face "No, not at all. And this is…Yuu? I'm guessing?" The boy raised an eyebrow and glanced to the general, his eyes begging to know who the man in front of him was. "Why yes, of course, this is my apprentice. Yuu, this is the Black Order's supervisor, Nero Fox" The man nodded before leaning back into his chair and grabbing out some papers.

"So, you're Froi's little prodigy" he started as he shuffled through the papers, rearranging them. "Apparently so" Nero was a bit surprised by the response, fighting a smirk Oh, he's an interesting one. "I need you to complete these papers. It won't take long. I'll have someone show you to a room after" He didn't wait for an answer as passed the papers to Tiedoll and exited the room, calling out for someone to call someone else.

The general sat down next to Yuu and passed the papers and a pen, before leaning back and getting comfortable. The boy took a few seconds to stare, and then started going lightning-fast through all the questions. As soon as he was finished, he put the papers back in the original order, but, again, stared at the first one. He threw a tentative glance at his master who immediately noticed and raised a brow "Is something wrong?"

Yuu turned to grab the first page and held it up "Umm…" Tiedoll looked over and instantly noticed an empty space. Family Name. Well shit. "Oh." Was all he said as he took the page in one hand, his eyes shifting between it and the boy. "Does it matter if it's empty?" He heard his apprentice ask in a low voice. "I think so, yes" "Fuck"

The supervisor came back along with a brown-haired man, arguing about something or someone. Tiedoll was still looking at the paper when a third person entered, a tall man with light-red, almost orange hair "You called?" Nero interrupted his argument and turned to the new individual, starting to give orders for a new uniform, room and other things.

"Give me your pen" Yuu's attention turned back to his master who gently borrowed the writing instrument and scribbled something down before taking the rest of the papers and handing them to Fox, before the boy could even complain about it. The other took them and looked them over, then at the boy "Good. Roy will take you to your new room. Your uniform will be ready in a few days. You need to go by to the medical division for a little checkup. I'm sure Froi can show you around a bit before he leaves again and you can go meet the other exorcists that are here"

Tiedoll nodded and followed Roy outside, motioning for the boy to follow "Oh, and welcome to the Dark Order, Kanda Yuu" That instantly grabbed the younger's attention. "Kanda…?" He redirected his gaze at his master who was smiling gently "It fits you" He was still a bit confused, wondering just how "Kanda" fit him exactly, but didn't really push the matter.

"So, Yuu, is it" the scientist (by the looks of it) said as he lead the way "What's your Innocence?" He didn't answer, just pointed at the sword lazily wrapped at his back "A sword huh" "It's a katana, actually" Tiedoll intervened. "Oh, that's even more interesting! Did you already have someone model it for you?" Yuu looked up with a frown "Model it?"

Roy smiled and pointed at Froi "You know how the general has his rod? Well, it didn't always look like that. He actually broke it once too. The Innocence, if not attached to something already, looks a bit like something covered with metallic wings. A lot of times it chooses a shape on its own, but it's not always comfortable, so the science division takes care to modify it so it fit's the accommodator, which is you."

He absorbed all this in, unknowingly poking the sword. "So…will you also modify mine?" The scientist smiled "Well, we should. If nobody did it already, it might spontaneously shape-shift, and that usually doesn't end well. But a katana, we've never done before. I'll have to look up who can make one"

"Which reminds me" Tiedoll started, poking Roy "I haven't seen anyone around, is nobody here?" The other contemplated a bit and started "Well, let's see. Out of the generals, right now, there's only you, but I hear Axel is coming over for a while. He found a new disciple a while back, as you know, and says her training's over. The other exorcists, umm, Reed is here, so are Andrew, Dan, Roy, who's in the hospital, and Ganak, who is also in the hospital. There's also Lenalee but…if you want to count her"

The general seemed to throw a grim expression at the last name, which made Yuu a bit curious, but he didn't get to ask who it was, for Roy abruptly stopped and turned to him, "This is your new room!" He slowly went to open the door and peek inside. It wasn't very big, nor very small. There were basics, a bed, closet, desk and a chair, a big window facing the sea and some decorations on the floor and wall. "It's not much, but it's home" he heard Tiedoll comment. He didn't even have to turn around to feel that annoyingly happy smile of his.

He made a snarling sound, dropping his belongings on the floor and bed before turning around to continue on the tour. Halfway through, however, they got a little surprise when a girl even smaller than him rounded up a corner and bumped into Roy who immediately steadied her "Oh, Lenalee, are you ok?" She took a moment to regain her balance, moment in which Yuu faintly noted she was bandaged from neck to toes. For some reason, that unnerved him, making unwanted memories surface.

"I'm sorry" she said in a small voice, picking up the book she was carrying and probably dropped at the sudden impact. When she looked up, she finally noticed the person next to the general. They stared at each other a few before a smile grew on her face "Hi!" she beamed, catching the other totally by surprise. "uh…" he began but was cut off "What's your name? Are you new? Do you want to play? Are you hungry? Do you want to-"

"Miss Lee" Tiedoll stepped in, not hiding a chuckle as he saw his apprentice's baffled face "I am afraid you might have to slow down with the questions a bit. Yuu can't seem to keep up. You wouldn't want to give him a headache, would you?" Both elder men laughed a bit while something seemed to dawn on the girl as she gasped "Oh, I'm so sorry I didn't mean to…I thought, because oh, I'm sorry" Roy was the first to realize she was not apologizing for asking a lot of questions, but a specific one "What are you apologizing about…?

Lenalee had a blush on her face as she looked at the floor, just like a child who was scowled for doing something bad "Yuu's a boy's name" Realization slapped Kanda in the face "I thought you were a girl"

A/N: HAHAHA, I couldn't help it. I always thought it was hilarious that Lenalee taught Kanda was a girl. Ahh… good times. Well, Thank you for reading! Hope you're looking forward to the next chapter! Please review if you feel so inclined. Thank you and have a nice day.
