The Plan is put into action.

Still own nothing

Sheldon looked at his watch wondering what, exactly, could be keeping Leonard. This habit Leonard was building of starting for work late was beginning to annoy him. He thought to himself, "This is intolerable. We're going to have to have another 2311 Los Robles Avenue Fourth Floor Meeting to redefine the responsibilities and the importance of adhering to previously agreed upon and signed tasks." Sheldon had had enough. He marched across to 4A and knocked on the door.

Knock… Knock… Knock… Hofstadter Family

Knock… Knock… Knock… Hofstadter Family

Knock… Knock… Knock… Hofstadter Family

Penny opened the door looking like she had just gotten out of bed. Her hair was all over, her robe was loosely tied and her eyes and nose were red. "Sheldon…. What IS IT?"

Sheldon looked at Penny with a disbelieving glare. "Where is Leonard? We are going to be late for work."

Penny leaned on the door frame and rubbed her forehead. "Sheldon… Jenny was up all night… Leonard stayed up with her… He thinks she may have come down with something… She was having trouble breathing…"

Sheldon immediately pulled his t-shirt collar over his nose and mouth. "How am I going to get to work? The bus schedule indicated that the proper bus left three minutes ago. This is totally unacceptable".

Penny looked up at Sheldon and coughed, making Sheldon jump back one step in horror. "Sheldon.. I can't help you… Leonard went back to bed… he won't be in today…"

Sheldon was clearly perplexed by this situation. "What am I to do?"

Penny bowed her head. "Ugh… Sheldon… I don't know… Leonard said something about getting Amy to bring you to work…"

Just then, Amy came bounding up the stairs. "Sheldon… I understand that you need transportation to work this morning?"

Sheldon was taken by complete surprise. "Amy? What are you doing here? How did you know about this unfortunate conundrum?"

Amy stopped at the top of the stairs and looked at Sheldon. "Good morning to you too… Leonard called me and asked if I would be so kind as to get you to work. He explained that Jenny was ill and he was up all night with her." Amy then turned to Penny. "How is she Bestie?"

Penny sneezed, causing Sheldon to jump back another step. "She seems to be sleeping now, it may be nothing, but if she's up, Max is too so…. It was quite a night". Penny then coughed and sneezed. "Thanks for taking Dr. Sensitivity here to work."

Sheldon looked on in horror. "I would thank you to cease and desist with spreading your germs, thank you very much. I may have to quarantine this apartment until you can assure me that whatever infection is running rampant through your family has adequately been eradicated". Sheldon then went down the stairs calling after him, "Come Amy, we're going to be late".

Penny Smiled at Amy, "Thanks Ames…" Penny then winked at Amy and gave her a thumbs up.

Amy smiled back. "Take care of your family Bestie". Amy then returned the thumbs up before following Sheldon down the stairs.

Penny closed the door and sighed, pulling her hair into a ponytail. Smiling to herself as she went to the kitchen to put on some coffee.

Leonard came out of the hallway. "How'd it go? Did he fall for it?

Penny smiled as she took her husband into a hug. "Hook… Line…. and Sinker… You are SO lucky that you are married to an actress. He had no clue. That was a pretty good idea you came up with there…. Hofstadter…"

Leonard kissed his beautiful wife. "Un-unravilable!... I sure hope you and Amy know what you are doing. Sheldon is pretty smart. He just might catch on".

Penny pulled her robe together. "Not a chance. Just wait until he finds out that Howard is away for a week with Bernadette, and Alex is supposed to make herself scarce. He won't have anyone to lord over except Amy. You should have seen him. He was practically about to call the health department on us".

Penny poured coffee for the two of them as Leonard quickly whipped up some scrambled eggs and bacon. They ate at the breakfast bar sitting next to one another. Penny inquired, "How are you going to explain not being at work?"

Leonard smiled. "I have that covered. Dr. Gabelhauser had some new articles that he wanted me to go over for potential new topics. He actually recommended that I do the work virtual so I wouldn't be interrupted by Sheldon." Leonard smiled widely at Penny who returned the smile and giggled.

When they finished eating, they took their coffee to the living room and sat on the couch, Penny putting her feet on Leonard's lap. He started to message them seemingly by habit. Penny smiled suggestively peering over her cup at Leonard as she let out a quiet moan and sipped her coffee. Leonard got up and put out a hand which Penny eagerly took. When she rose, Leonard put his arm around her waist and they retired to their room for some "relaxation" until the babies woke up.

Amy and Sheldon rode to work. The ride was not as uncomfortable as the night before. The ride to work was not different in Sheldon's routine. Amy had not infrequently taken Sheldon to work and they proceeded to take up their time with one of Sheldon's driving games. Sheldon remarked, "I say, Amy, although this trip to work was not scheduled, I find it very satisfying."

Amy smiled to herself. "How so Sheldon?"

Sheldon turned his attention to Amy. "You are a much more interesting and informed companion than either Leonard or Penny. It is like pulling teeth to get Penny to engage at all, and Leonard seems so preoccupied with other things these days."

Amy turned to look at Sheldon for a short time before concentrating back on the road. "Sheldon, my work at Cal Tech will be going on for at least another couple of months. I would be more than happy to replace Leonard as your primary mode of transportation to and from work, if it would suit your schedule better."

Sheldon pondered the offer. "I don't think my schedule should be affected either way, although Leonard has been increasingly tardy as of late. Let's see how this works out, shall we? Considering that the Hofstadter Family will need to be avoided for at least the next seven to ten days".

Amy smiled, thinking of how Penny will enjoy hearing about this. "That seems acceptable".
