Chapter 13:
Stefan felt his heart sink at Arabella's words.
"I thought you said they wouldn't suspect her." He said.
Arabella shook her head grimly.
"I didn't think they would." Arabella argued.
Stefan glared at her his worry with Caroline.
"Maybe he knows you just as well as you know him." Stefan pointed out.
Arabella sat down hard as if she just realised he was probably right.
"Enough." Bonnie said.
Stefan looked over at his friend.
"What will Alderson want now?" She asked.
Arabella looked up at stared at her. Alderson would want Bonnie now, and Stefan knew Bonnie well enough to know she would be going after her friend no matter what.
Bonnie sighed.
"So that settles things I am going to hand myself over to Alderson." Bonnie said as if it was nothing.
Damon grabbed her arms as she turned her to leave.
"Like hell you are." He said.
Stefan nodded his head in agreement with his brother. He wanted Caroline back but he was not about to let Bonnie hand herself over to do it.
Bonnie glared at Damon.
"You don't own me and you don't get to tell me what I can and can't do." Bonnie argued.
"I do when you seem incapable of looking after yourself." Damon shot back.
Bonnie shoved him away.
"I can take care of myself." She pointed out.
"But Alderson has the necklace now it's different." Arabella added.
Bonnie glared at Arabella before looking back to Damon.
"And what about Caroline?" She asked.
Stefan stepped forward.
"I want Caroline back just as much as you do but not this way." Stefan said.
Bonnie shook her head.
"There is no other way." Bonnie argued determined now.
Stefan looked at Damon.
"This is for your own good." Damon said and before Bonnie could argue he picked her up and took her to the cell in the basement.
Stefan followed and watched as Damon closed the door Bonnie pounded on the other side.
"Let me out." She screamed.
Damon winced as she shouted frets they both new she could keep.
"What about Caroline?" Stefan asked Damon.
Damon looked at the closed cell door one more time.
"Let's see what Arabella knows." Damon said before they headed back upstairs.
Lord Alderson looked down at his new hostage. Newly turned, she wouldn't be much bother but he laced her chains with silver just in case.
"Would you like me to get the witch now sir?" Malcolm asked.
Lord Alderson tore his gaze away from his new blonde friend and looked and Malcolm and smiled.
"Why would we need to do that?" Lord Alderson questioned.
Malcolm looked at him confused and Lord Alderson sighed.
"Really Malcolm do you remember nothing about your humanity?" Lord Alderson said.
"The witch cares for this vampire she will come here herself within time." Lord Alderson added.
Malcolm nodded.
Lord Alderson looked back towards the blonde vampire. Very soon everything would be within his reach.
Damon knew that Bonnie would be mad at him for what he did but he hoped that she would eventually understood that he did it to protect her. His brother paced as Arabella thought about where Alderson would hide and Damon smiled to himself. It looked like Damon wasn't the only one ready to move on. He knew his brother's feelings for Barbie weren't always completely platonic.
"Any idea where he would have taken Barbie?" Damon asked Arabella.
"Alderson changed a witch who was from mystic falls if had to guess anywhere I would say there." Arabella suggested.
"Who was the witch?" Stefan asked.
Arabella sighed.
"His name was Malcolm he lived just outside of town." Arabella said.
Damon nodded.
"Then that's where will start." Damon said.
"What about Bonnie?" Arabella asked.
Damon looked at her confused.
"She'll be fine in the basement." Damon said.
Arabella nodded slowly.
Damon looked over at Stefan.
"Let's go find Caroline." Damon said.
Stefan smiled and nodded.
Caroline blinked as she came round. She remembered seeing the house before everything went black.
"Where am I?" she wondered aloud.
"You're finally awake?" A hard voice said.
Caroline remembered that voice from when they returned Bonnie to the battered and bruised and she knew it had to be Lord Alderson.
When he came into view Caroline gasped he was just as handsome as Arabella described him.
"Where am I?" Caroline asks him again.
He sighs as he sit on a chair opposite to her.
"This was where it all began, this was where I lost everything." He says.
Caroline looks round the room and she can faintly make out shelves and fading writing. They must have been in Arabella's shop.
"You have the necklace what possible use could I be to you?" Caroline demands.
Alderson smiles and everything clicks into place. Arabella would think of a place that Alderson would use in Mystic falls and Damon and Stefan would go there. But Bonnie would find out the truth and she was the bait that she had no doubt would bring her best friend here.
"I'm bait." Caroline concluded and he smiled and nodded.
By time Bonnie calms down she realises that Damon has done her a favour, here he would believe her safe enough to go after Caroline without any harm coming to her. She waits about an hour to be sure that both he and Stefan have gone before she focus on the door, it takes her another half an hour before the door unclicks and she's heading upstairs.
"Bonnie, don't do this." Arabella begged.
Bonnie looked at her, Arabella had no way of stopping but Bonnie felt the needed to make her understand.
"Alderson has the necklace now, which means no matter what he is never going to stop coming after me." Bonnie reminded her.
"You could always run?" Arabella offered.
Bonnie shook her head.
"I am not made for that, I was always taught to fight and I am not going to stop now." Bonnie argued.
Arabella sighed.
"So what's your plan?" Arabella asked.
Bonnie sighed it wasn't much of a plan and a lot of it depended up Alderson's reactions but it was the only one she had.
"I am going to do a locator spell and find Caroline and then you and I are going to them." Bonnie said simply as she began her search for something that belonged to Caroline.
"You want to walk in to a trap?" Arabella asked in disbelief just as Bonnie caught sight of Caroline's handbag.
Bonnie searched in the bag for something she could use.
"And then what?" Arabella asked after Bonnie ignored her.
Bonnie found a locket in Caroline's bag that her father had brought for her and she pulled a map of the wall.
"You are going to make Alderson change his mind." Bonnie said.
"I already tried that and it didn't work." Arabella pointed out.
Bonnie looked over at her.
"Well you're going to try again and this time you have to make him believe you otherwise I will have no choice but to do the spell." Bonnie pointed out no room for argument.
Arabella nodded reluctantly.
Bonnie closed her eyes and focused on the spell when the necklace stopped. Bonnie and Arabella looked down at where the locket landed.
"Where is that?" Bonnie asked.
Arabella gasped.
"It was my store." Arabella said in completely surprise.
