Chapter 15:
Lord Alderson breath caught in his throat as Arabella came into view.
"Arabella," he breathed.
Arabella looked the same as she did the day he fell in love with her. He knew that she would come with Bonnie but somehow the sight of her still bothered him more than he ever imagined.
"Hello Matthew." She said softly.
Lord Alderson gulped.
This was the women who had given him everything and the women who left him with nothing.
"Let the child go." Arabella ordered.
Lord Alderson frowned.
"She is hardly a child." He replied.
Arabella glared at him as she approached the blonde vampire in the chair Bonnie following closely behind her. Lord Alderson stood and Arabella froze as Malcolm entered the room on his cue. Malcolm stood ready for a battle.
"She is in comparison to you." Arabella replied.
Lord Alderson shook his head.
"I see you chose the right decision coming here to do the spell." He said now talking to Bonnie.
Bonnie looked up at him.
"You didn't give me much of a choice." Bonnie replied her voice soft reminding him so much of Emily when she had been a child.
Lord Alderson shook his head now was not the time to think of the past soon this little witch would give him everything he needed.
Caroline looked around the room Malcolm stood off in the side lines but Caroline new he was ready to fight and there was no way Bonnie stood a chance against Alderson and Malcolm alone.
"I am curious as to where the oldest brother is?" Lord Alderson couldn't help but comment.
Caroline had been wondering the same thing herself. They had made a deal that they would protect Bonnie not matter what even from herself but still Bonnie managed to get herself here with Damon and Stefan nowhere in sight.
"They went to Malcolm's house thinking they would find you there." Bonnie replied.
Caroline looked at her confused, they still would never have left her alone.
Alderson laughed.
"Why would I be there?" he asked.
"This was the place where we were going to raise our children. This is where everything started and this is where you will make everything end." Alderson added approaching Bonnie.
Caroline fault against her bindings as Arabella stepped in front of Alderson path her face determined.
Arabella closed her eyes as she stepped in front of Bonnie and when she opened them she looked at Matthew determinedly it was now or never.
"Do you honestly think I will let you hurt my bloodline?" Arabella asked.
Matthew glared at her coldly.
"I don't think you have a choice considering your dead." He spat.
Arabella wince a little at his tone.
"And whose thought is that?" she asked.
Matthew looked like he had been slapped, he blinked in surprise.
"You were so concerned about bringing Michael back that you dammed everything and everyone else." She added.
"How is that?" he demanded to know.
Arabella stepped forward as she spook slowly approaching him.
"You once told me that you loved me." She started.
"I did." He argued.
Arabella shook her head.
"If that was true then you wouldn't have abandon me, you left me. Your wife killed our son then you left. Left me to die alone like I was nothing but a distant memory." Arabella spat at him.
Matthew shook his head.
"It wasn't like that." He argued.
"It was exactly like that." She shouted frustrated.
"I needed time." He defended.
Arabella shook her head.
"And I didn't?" she asked.
"I was the one who felt him grow and move every single day." She added her voice breaking with a sob.
Matthew stared at her and he slowly moved forward.
"She made me watch her kill him." Arabella screamed at him.
Tears strolled down her face.
"Arabella." He said softly.
"I made a mistake leaving, I know that and I came back to fix it but you made Emily forget me. How could you do that?" he asked.
Arabella shook her head.
"Emily loved you. She called you daddy." Arabella whispered.
Matthew's face hardened.
"I loved her too." Matthew replied.
"But you left us and she was too young to understand all she knew was that her baby brother and daddy were gone." Arabella pointed out.
Bonnie looked at from Alderson to Arabella and she knew that that they were completely absorbed in each other. She looked round the room as they argued. If Arabella couldn't persuade Alderson then she needed a plan B.
Bonnie looked at Caroline who sat fighting her silver chains. If she could get Caroline out of her he would have no leverage over her and she wouldn't have to do the spell. She took a step forward and so did Malcolm. Bonnie silently cursed herself. She looked towards Arabella and Alderson but they were both too engrossed with each other to notice. She had to get rid of Malcolm somehow and she had to do it without getting either his or Alderson attention.
Bonnie thought about all the spells she had in her head into she got one that would work.
Bonnie looked at Arabella and Alderson once more when she was sure they were fully engrossed she walked slowly towards Caroline muttering a spell under her breath. She looked over at Malcolm just as he feel to his knees with a thud, Bonnie quickly looked over at Alderson but he didn't seem to have noticed. Bonnie looked over at Malcolm once more. Malcolm was now lying on the floor unconscious. Bonnie silently cheered in her head before she headed over to Caroline.
Caroline saw her approaching and Bonnie put her finger to her mouth to silence her.
Bonnie looked over at Alderson and Arabella once more.
"Did you even love our son?" Alderson spat in disgust.
Arabella's hand shot out as she slapped him.
"How dare you? I loved our son." She shouted.
"Obviously not enough." He spat back.
Bonnie looked back towards Caroline and she put her hands on the silver chains and muttered a spell to turn the silver chains to steel. Caroline smiled and picked up the chains to break them. Bonnie shook her head.
"Not yet." She mouthed.
Caroline looked confused.
Bonnie looked over at Arabella as she felt her strength slowly coming back to her. The spell was ruing out and it wouldn't be long before Arabella was gone.
Bonnie looked at Caroline.
"When I say now I need you to run like there is no tomorrow." Bonnie said.
Caroline nodded.
"What about you?" she whispered.
Bonnie took a deep breath.
"I have a plan but I need you safe otherwise I'll have no choice but to do the spell." Bonnie explain.
Caroline shook her head.
"I am not leaving without you." Caroline whispered fiercely.
"Please Care I need you to trust me I promise you'll see me again if you do what I say." Bonnie replied begging for Caroline to believer her.
Caroline slowly nodded and Bonnie breathed a sigh of realise.
Bonnie silently preyed that she could keep her promise.
Bonnie walked slowly back over to Arabella's side in hopes that Alderson wouldn't notice that she had been gone.
She breathed a sigh of relief as she made it just as Arabella begun fading.
"What's happening?" Alderson said.
Arabella ignored him and looked down at Bonnie.
"I am so sorry." She whispered as she disappeared into thin air.
Alderson rounded on Bonnie and she tried not to flinch.
"What happened?" he demanded again.
"The spell ran off she has gone back to the spirit world." Bonnie replied.
Alderson nodded.
He sighed.
"How about we do the spell now?" Alderson said.
Bonnie slowly nodded knowing soon he would figure out what she had done.
"Malcolm bring me the necklace." Alderson shouted without looking away from her.
Bonnie looked over at Caroline.
"Care make sure Damon doesn't do anything stupid." Bonnie said.
Caroline nodded.
"I'll try." She said.
Bonnie shook her head.
"Please Caroline I need you all to be safe." She whispered tears prickling her eyes.
"I promise." She replied instantly.
"What's taking so long?" Alderson mumbled to himself.
Panic filled her as Alderson went to find Malcolm.
"Trust me?" Bonnie asked Caroline.
"Of course." Caroline replied.
Bonnie smiled as Alderson caught sight of Malcolm.
Alderson looked over at her.
"What did you do?" he screamed.
"Now." Bonnie shouted with all of her.
Bonnie heard her chains break and Caroline's movement as Alderson flashed over to her.
Bonnie heard the door slam shut as she was slammed into a wall and everything went black.
Damon slammed on the breaks as they pulled up outside Arabella's store. He yanked open the door and was out of the car before he could think preying that Bonnie hadn't done something stupid yet to save one of them again. He had thought that losing the girl that always saved them once was hard but losing the girl that always saved them and that he was slowly falling in love with would be unbearable.
Damon ran towards the shop with Stefan hot on his tail just as the door opened and Caroline ran out.
Damon froze hoping that Bonnie wouldn't be fair behind as Caroline fell into his brother's arms.
"You ok?" Stefan asked.
Caroline nodded through her tears.
"Where is Bonnie?" Damon asked.
Caroline looked at him.
"She's still inside." Caroline replied.
"Dam it." Damon shouted in frustration.
"Why would you just leave her?" Damon demanded.
Caroline walked over to him she put her hand his arm.
"She said to trust her and that she couldn't do what she needed if we weren't safe." Caroline explained.
Damon sighed and prayed that Bonnie knew what she was doing.
