Opening my eyes, I look up and see that we're back at base. The tan tent around me is quiet, but I stand up and rub my messy head of hair sleepily.
"Guys?" I call out. "Helloooo?"
There's no response. Getting up and out of my cot, I head over and push the flap open to look outside. The moon shines down from up above and I look around. Where is everyone? Blinking, I try to remember what happened. Drew kissed the mummy/statue and...that's all I remember. Well...that, and him cussing.
Rubbing my forehead, I step out into the moonlight, and glance around. Still...there's no one in site...this place is deserted as of now. I spy the car from earlier, and head over to it and find the key in the front seat. Jamming it into the ignition, I buckle myself in, and drive as best as I can towards Slateport. Lights glow in the distance as I get closer. I clench the wheel, feeling angry.
Heads are going to roll when I find everyone.
Parking where Drew had first got the car, I jump out and over the door before sprinting towards..well, just the town in general. I have no idea where Drew's uncle reserved us a place to stay. I should probably check all the hotels in the area and see if there is a room with my name. The street lamps seem to glow and float around as I walk across the asphalt.
Why don't I seem to be getting anywhere? That's when I see the fountain from yesterday.
Where the...kiss happened.
I gulp, and turn away, but spot something. "Ash?" I ask, and look around the water as it pours itself into the pool of coins below.
Crossing the square, I stop in front of Ash. "What's going on?" I demand. "Why did you all leave me at the excavation site?"
He slowly raises his head from where it was staring at the ground. "Misty?" he says. "Why are you so late?"
I frown. "Umm, excuse me?"
He rubs his head. "You're late for our date...I can't believe you could do that."
I splutter for a while, but shake my head. "How late am I?" I ask, playing along.
"Almost six hours," he replies.
I double take. "S-so we had a date...and it was six hours ago," I repeat.
He nods.
"Well...what were we going to do on this date?" I ask, sitting next to him.
He sighs, and looks at the ground. "You forgot that too..."
I laugh slightly. "Eh...well, I woke up at the excavation site and I have no idea where everyone went.." Ash doesn't even seem to comprehend what I just said, and wallows in sadness.
"The date is ruined..."
"Umm, we can still go on that date if you want..." I suggest.
He just hangs his head. "It's too late."
I jump up. "How is it too late? I'm here now, and Slateport seems...strangely abandoned, but that doesn't matter. Let's go watch a movie..or, how about we eat some ice cream. Oh! You love soda, so let's get that!"
Ash doesn't answer.
I put a hand on his shoulder. "Umm, earth to Ash!" I say. "Let's goooo."
He still doesn't budge. "Why are you being annoying?" I ask. "This makes absolutely no sense. Plus, you aren't even acting like you normally do! You're usually a hyperactive Pikachu!"
His head slowly raises back up at that. "Pikachu...huh.."
I nod furiously. "Yes! Pikachu! Now get off your sorry butt and let's go on that date!" I pause. "Can't believe I'd ever say that but whatever."
I grab Ash and pull him to his feet.
"Ash..." Ash says.
I blink. "Umm, what? Why are you talking about yourself?"
He smiles at me. "Ash would be very happy to hear you say that."
I stare. "I think you've gone insane," I tell him. "How about I take you to the hotel and you can take a nap."
Ash reaches up and brushes his hand lightly against the side of my face.
"Can you stop it?" I ask, feeling awkward.
Instead, he leans forward and kisses me directly on the lips.
I freeze up, wondering if I should bring out my mallet, or if I should use a take down, but since my brain is still short circuiting, I don't think either are possible.
"I'll see you later," Ash says, backing up, and everything blurs.
~.0.~
"GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" I scream, bolting up. Sweat is beading on my brow, and I look around.
That's when I see Ash.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHH!" I yell, and toss my blanket up in the air before hiding underneath it. I stare in shock.
It was a dream. Only a dream.
But...it seemed so weird and real.
Peeking out from under the blanket, I see Ash looking at me with a frown. "Are you really that unhappy to see me?" he asks, as if dreading my answer.
I shake my head. "Ah...no, I just had...a weird dream."
That's when I sit up. "What happened? Where are we?"
He blinks. "You don't remember? When Drew freaked out, he accidentally bumped into you, and you hit your head on a wall, knocking you out," Ash explains. "I carried you here and you've been lying there for only about a minute. I'm surprised you woke up so fast."
I just sit there. "You carried me?" I ask.
Ash looks away. "Ah...yeah..." he glances back. "Are you...mad about that?"
I shake my head, and put a hand to my chin. If I was having that dream while being carried by Ash...does that mean...?
I look up at him. "Ash, do you like me?" I blurt.
MUAHAHAHAA! Yes! ;) Actually this chapter makes sense if you think about it. She had one of those weird dreams where something you wish to happen happens. As in, you unconsciously like Ash, and it shows it in her subconscious mind. :) Get it? PLUS YOU GOT A BONUS DREAM KISS! ;)
Though I'm sorry if you didn't like the weirdness of this chapter. DX
Tell me what you thought!
~Misty
