It was the next afternoon when karkat and Tavros got a visitor. Tavros was the first to see the young man standing just outside the door to the ward, talking happily with a nurse. He had a head of tame hair that fell somewhere between brown and auburn. He wore a set of glasses that seemed to belong in a movie theater and not normal life. After a few moments he was allowed in. He held a backpack in his hand and had one on his back,both full to the point of bursting. He stopped when he saw Tavros. "Hey." he said. "Where's Karkat?" he asked and Tavros heard a small lisp in the young man's voice. Tavros looked behind him and then back again. "He uh..went into his room..." he said slowly and the other rolled his eyes. "Alright. Thanks."

Tavros watched as the boy walked past him and simply slammed the door open. "Karkat! Homework! Now!" he said as he glanced at the figure curled up on the bed, blankets pulled up over him. Tavros watched as the young man entered the room and ripped the blankets from his friend. "KK! Get up! I brought you your homework." he repeated

"Go the fuck away Sollux!"

The new boy, Sollux, rolled his eyes again and grabbed at Karkat, pulling his arm to drag him from the bed causing Karkat to land with a thud. Tavros bit back his giggle and slowly wheeled himself out of the doorway when Sollux led a still fuming Karkat out. Tavros watched as the pair seated themselves at the small table that occupied the corner of the room. Just before the two could start Karkat called out to Tavros.

"Come on!"

"You too! KK says you're in our classes." Sollux added and Tavros, despite his shyness wheeled over to the table as well. Sollux glanced at him for as moment before digging into his bag and pulling out a notebook. "Here, write your answers in there and rip the paper out when you're done." he said as he pulled out his laptop, opening it and waiting as it booted up. Karkat took the moment to begin to dig into the other bag Sollux had brought, pulling out a notebook of his own.

After two hours Sollux finally closed his laptop, having finished reading the others the problems. He took both boy's papers and placed them in a folder. He stood and took both bags into his arms. "I'll be back tomorrow." he said and made a half step closer to karkat but the shorter boy leaned away and whatever nonverbal warning he gave, Sollux got and left with a half wave to the other.

This pattern went on for about a week before Tavros began to notice a few things. First, Sollux would often lean ever so slightly towards karkat, and when they thought Tavros was too engrossed in his own work to notice, the pair would subtlety slide their hands together, Sollux's always resting atop Karkats. When Tavros would look up they would act as if nothing had happened. Tavros couldn't help but feel a bit of a tug at his heart every time he noticed the sweet and secret interactions. He began to feel a lonesome pull that began to make him isolate himself yet again.

Luckily or, maybe it was unluckily, Karkat was only there for another two weeks before he was released. Tavros wheeled to the door and watched as his new found friend was embraced by a pair of men whom Karkat resembled quite a bit. Karkat glanced back and with a bit of a wave he was led away, leaving Tavros alone. He sighed and backed from the door, wheeling his way back to the center of the room. He didn't feel like watching a movie and he surely didn't want to sleep. He resigned himself to roll to the window and peer out. He almost didn't notice the figure standing down below until said figure began to wave frantically. Tavros glanced down and his face brightened. Gamzee was there! He waved back to hos friend and smiled brightly at him. When Gamzee motioned for him to open the window Tavros shook his head sadly. The window's were barred and locked. There was no way for him to open them, no matter how hard he tried. It was when Gamzee kicked at the ground in a defeted gesture that Tavros got an idea. He made sure Gamzee saw him flash the universal sign, just a second, before he rolled away and to the nurses station. "Exuse me..?" he said as a young nurse he hadn't seen before passed by. She looked down at him and smiled, pushing a strand of dark hair behind her ear.

"Yes?" she asked and Tavros took a deep breath before he spoke.

"I was wondering if...I could go outside for a little while.." he muttered and looked up at her. The nurse glanced behind her at the empty station and then back at the hispanic boy in front of her.

"Well..I really shouldn't allow you to but...Fine. Let me walk you out at least. " she said and Tavros' look brightened again. He leaned back and folded his hands in his lap as she walked around and wheeled him to the elevator. She was kind enough to wheel him just out the door, stopping just long enough to sign him out with the young man at the desk, before disappearing back inside, knowing the courtyard was filled with cameras. She left him with a simple instruction. "Come back in about one and a half hours." she said. Tavros took a deep breath and wheeled himself around the courtyard, to the side his room lay on. He nearly cried out when he saw Gamzee still standing on the far side of the fence that surrounded the building. When Gamzee saw him as well the taller young man waved his hand. " Hey Tavrbro!" he said happily. Tavros wheeled himself to just the other side of Gamzee and smiled. "Hey Gamzee." he said quietly as the clown crouched down slightly to be at eye level with his friend. "What uh, what are you doing here?" Tavros asked and Gamzee pouted, a nearly comical expression on his painted face. "Those bastards won't let me back in. But I just wanted to see you. Karkat said you were here alone now and I was all up and mother fucking worried about you." he said.

"I'm..I'm okay." Tavros said, his cheeks flushing at the worry he heard in his friends voice. "Good, cause bro. I wanna get you outta here." Gamzee said.

Well there you have it. Chapter 6. Yes, there is a tiny mention of SolKat. Sorry, I just felt like it. Anyway! Sorry this took so long. I have no real exuse besides I am lazy as all get out. I hope this was to your liking and hope you will stick with my story till the end~
