Hanabi skidded to a stop for the second time, "So you know." She said, looking him straight in the eye.
"Yeah, I do." He replied, calmly, "You have better things to do today, don't you?."
"Something like that." She said, "Compromise?."
"You read my mind." He said, smiling.
Chapter Fifteen
Don't Follow
Present Day
"Shizune, where is my sake?." The ex Hokage boomed. Lightning cracked around her.
Shizune jumped from her seat hurriedly, "On it." She said, scampering away to find what she could with TonTon oinking fearfully in her arms.
With Shizune out of sight, the hidden presence that Tsunade sensed showed themself.
"Long time no see, Kurenai." Tsunade greeted over her empty cup.
Kurenai took the seat opposite from her, "Hai, it's been too long."
Tsunade seemed to look for something, making Kurenai smile, "He's with his Godfather, Shikamaru." She said, putting the older ladies worries at ease.
"I see. He has a clone with the Hokage, then?." Tsunade asked with a shake of her head.
"It's only for the moment Tsunade-sama." Kurenai assured, knowing full well Shikamaru could be in big trouble for doing such a thing, "I really wanted to speak with you."
Tsunade lowered her cup and leaned back in her seat, "Should I be worried?." She asked, thoughts of Shikamaru's clone with Naruto forgotten.
Kurenai shook her head, "It's about Hinata."
"Hinata?."
Kurenai leaned forward onto the table, "Is it true that she's training with the Uchiha?."
Tsunade laughed, "Is that all you wanted to know? You made it sound like something bad had happened."
"Please, Tsunade-sama." Kurenai whispered, "I need to know."
Tsunade stopped laughing and noticed the other women's seriousness on the topic. She sighed, "It's true. Sasuke is training Hinata so that she can make Jounin."
Kurenai's eyes widened, "Jounin? There must be some kind of mistake."
"There's no mistake." Tsunade assured quite strongly, "It's what Hinata wanted. It was a stroke of luck that Sasuke wanted to train her."
"I don't think it was luck." Kurenai said, pondering for a moment.
"Your right, it's not." Tsunade said turning serious, "He'll do anything for Hinata."
"Why?."
'Do you even have to ask.' Tsunade thought. "Isn't It obvious?."
Tsunade's POV
Flashback
Day 12 of Training - 18 MORE DAYS TO GO before Jounin Exam
I crossed my arms, impressed.
"Katon: Goukakyuu no Jutsu."
I took the time to study the Uchiha's jutsu. He was drawing chakra out from his mouth and into his chest, then exhaling it. He made an O with with his thumb and index finger before blowing out a stream of fire which erupted into a large sphere of flames. Such a simpleton move for the Uchiha to use, but then again this was Hinata Hyuuga he was training. Maybe Shikamaru was wrong.
'His methods are rash. He shows no remorse during there training.' She recalled him saying.
Hinata stood her ground. I cringed at her bold move, surely she would evade.
"Hakkeshou Kaiten."
Hinata released a large amount of chakra as she spun like a top. I noticed also that the flames in which Sasuke had produced were being nullified by the defense of her whirling vortex. This I wanted to praise outloud, but decided against it. That rude, psychotic, demented and idiotic boy would most probably try to put me under if he felt my presense. I grinned, he could try.
"Again." Sasuke growled out.
He sent another fireball towards her, only this time it's size had doubled. Hinata didn't give up nor did she turn from his attack. She whirled again, taking me by surprise with the determination that was clearly written on her face. I leaned against the trunk of the tree I was on. She sure as hell wasn't the Hinata I remember. The Hinata I knew was a shy little thing. Blushing, stuttering, twiddling her thumbs together.
"What are we..-"
Hinata deflected his dirty punch and sent him reeling back alittle. I was now thoroughly impressed with this turn of events. I thought for sure he would've landed one on her. Even I myself, though I wouldn't admit it outloud, would not have been able to detect him at that speed. I didn't even register when he'd moved.
"Don't let me touch you." He ordered, "And..."
Hinata blinked confusedly, "And?."
Sasuke closed his eyes briefly, "Don't look into my eyes." When he looked up, his Mangekyou was activated.
'What will you do now, Hinata?.' I thought. The tables had turned, tenfold.
Sasuke moved around her, swift and sure, his attacks brutal and deadly. Hinata was being beaten and tossed like a rag doll. What did that heartless Uchiha expect? She was a ninja who solely relied on her eyes in combat. Using his Mangekyou like that was a cruel and twisted thing to do. I can understand now, why Shikamaru said Sasuke's methods were rash. The girl was being driven into the ground.
"Get up." Sasuke ordered, giving room for her to take in a gasp of air before he kicked her square in the gut.
Hinata started coughing hard. Sasuke winded her. "If the enemy took your eyes, is this how you'd make your last stand?." He snapped.
I raised an eye-brow. This boy was smart, in a psychotic but stable kind of way. He was going to teach her to use her blindness, despite her not being blind, to her advantage. A brilliant idea I prasied. Fighting without using your sight. It should be a last resort for all those with an Occular kekkei genkai I thought. Hinata slowly stood, her eyes were closed but her Byakugan remained. I shifted in my spot. She obviously took Sasuke's words to heart, because she slid into her stance with calm etched onto her face.
"I'm your enemy." Sasuke murmured, he unsheathed his sword, "Feel for my chakra."
Suddenly, I couldn't see him anymore. He was so fast. "Hakke Kuushou." Hinata murmured, thrusting her palm outwards towards a now visible Sasuke. He dodged her attack just in time. My eyes widened only a fraction. Hinata had...actually sensed him.
"Good." Sasuke whispered under his breath, "Again."
"There's no point in hiding, Hyuuga brat." I muttered, "Your chakra is a dead giveaway and I doubt he's a fan of yours."
"I don't care what the boy does to me." Hiashi snapped back, "I only care for her wellbeing."
I snorted, "Arrogance suits you well."
The man beside me didn't reply, but he did lower his chakra as instructed. He gave his full and undivided attention to his daughter and Sasuke. I did the same, though I wasn't comfortable with him being next to me. I inwardly sighed and decided to just ignore him.
Hinata was gasping for her. Even I could tell she was beginning to run out of chakra. My eyes narrowed in as Sasuke continued his assault on her. Hinata never let up, nor did she open her eyes. Many of Sasuke's blows were near misses and with a sword as sharp as his, it was a critical to dodge.
"She has improved." Hiashi said outloud.
I smirked, "She has a good teacher."
Hiashi snorted, "That boy is nothing but a traitor. She should not be near the likes of him."
"She's old enough to make her own decisions." I growl.
"Hn." I must of pissed him off, finally a crack in his armor, "I've seen enough."
Hiashi leapt onto another tree, "She won't always follow your orders, boy." I say to him as a leaving message.
Hiashi didn't reply nor did he look back. He left with the rustling of the leaves.
"Open your eyes." Sasuke said. I turned my eyes back to them. My mouth parted. Sasuke was so close to her face, it was almost as if he was going to kiss her. His Mangekyou had long since deactivated. Now it was a matter of Hinata doing what he just said, which she didn't, which made Sasuke bend and swipe at her legs. She fell in a heap of limbs.
"I said to open your eyes." He growled.
With eyes open, she bit her lip, "I thought you were trying to trick me."
She didn't stutter I noticed.
Sasuke hoisted her up to stand at level with him, "We'll take a break. Heal yourself as much as possible, it'll get harder from here." He explained.
Hinata reached into her pocket for something. "Do you want some balm?." She asked, holding the small jar in front of him.
Sasuke clicked his tongue, 'Worry about yourself." He said.
End of Flashback
Present Day
"Where is she?." Hiashi demanded to know.
Hanabi shrugged her shoulders, "I couldn't find her."
Hiashi looked at her sternly, "I told you there would be consequences." He snarled.
"Yo!." A newcomer greeted, interrupting Hiashi's rant.
Hiashi kept his eyes focused on Hanabi, "What do you want?."
"I've come with a propostion." He said smoothly, "It's from the Hokage himself."
Hiashi finally nodded for Hanabi to leave, who did so without another thought. Hiashi then turned to the Jounin. "What is it now, Kakashi?."
The copy nin entered through the window, "It's in regards to your daughter, Hinata-sama."
Hiashi was suddenly interested.
Meanwhile...
"Don't worry little man, your mother will be back soon." Shikamaru cooed to the little bundle in his arms.
'Shit Asuma, your kid has some lungs on him.' He thought, sweat-dropping.
Little Asuma stopped crying and suddenly burped. Shikamaru chuckled, "Man, you almost sounded like Chouji."
Asuma gave him a dribbling smile, one the shadow nin happily returned, "Your gonna be one hell of a troublesome kid." He whispered tenderly, brushinga few stray tears from the boys cheeks, "And I'll be there to watch you."
