Previously...

"I was told to give you a message from Kakashi-sensei." The young girl said, staring up at the ex-Hokage with her utmost respect. "He told me to tell you that..."

Tsunade suddenly stood from the table. She didn't need Hanabi to relay Kakashi's message to her, she just knew it had to do with the murderous chakra she could feel building, fast. Ignoring the girl and bursting through the exit of the bar, Tsunade took to running along the rooftops. Ahead of her she could sense Kakashi, not far behind her Shikamaru and the large burst of Sage chakra she felt told her Naruto was almost catching up to her.

'What the fuck is going on?.' She wondered.

Chapter Eighteen

Don't

Present Day

"Such murderous intent. Do you wish to kill me that badly?." Hiashi asked, ignoring the black flames surrounding him. They weren't so much as almost touching him, to Hiashi it was like the Uchiha made the flames to circle them. Enough width and length for appropriate battle. He fell into a fighting stance, Byakugan activated.

"No! Sasuke-kun, please! Don't do this." Hinata shouted.

Below her Manda hissed. "Don't interfere." He snapped.

Hinata balled her fists, "Why are they doing this?." She asked trying to blink away the tears that threatened to fall.

Manda stared at his master's form. In all his lifetime there was never a human he couldn't kill, devour or control. It was just in his nature. But there was one cruel enough to stand before the rest, one that could send shivers throughout his being, Uchiha Sasuke. Manda never got involved in personal matters concerning the Uchiha, simply because it was almost impossible to stop him. Especially if their was a cause. Manda raised his head suddenly. He knew that chakra anywhere. The Kyuubi boy.

"Naruto?." Hinata whispered.

Her words never went unheard, Sasuke heard it which only angered him more. He turned his head to get a glimpse of her. Sure enough she had a look of hope on her face as she gazed with her Byakugan at the approaching Hokage.

"Hakke Kushou." Hiashi yelled, his palm outstretched with an invisible burst of chakra heading towards the unguarded Uchiha.

Sasuke waited until Hinata locked eyes with him, before he whispered, "Kagutsuchi."

Hinata stepped back in fear. 'Why is he...looking at me like that?.'

Hiashi growled. The Uchiha was ignoring him and staring at his daughter as if he didn't exist. Hiashi did note that the boy didn't even have to look at him to defend himself.

'That jutsu...' Hiashi thought, 'So, he used a small amout of those black flames to defend himself, knowing how much chakra such a move consumes. If I can get him to use those eyes of his constantly, he'll eventually give in to early blindness.'

"What did I say..." Sasuke snarled, "...when you were with me?.

Hinata bit her lip, her mouth wouldn't move. Nothing was obeying her at this precise moment. She swallowed the lump in her throat and tried to find an answer. She hoped Manda would be of some assistance but the snake kept quiet. Seeing the color of yellow hair suddenly made her realize her small mistake.

'Don't think of the dobe, when you're with me.'

Hinata bit her lip, thinking of and seeing him were different. She suddenly had an idea. Whether or not it worked, she still had to do something. "If you stop this now..." She whispered boldly, eyes firm, lips set, "...I promise, I will not only give you my mind, but body and soul as well. Completely."

Sasuke never broke eye contact with her, even when Hiashi tried to come up from behind him using his Hakke Hyakunijuuhachishou. Hiashi had no chance of landing a blow on the Uchiha and he grew frustrated once he discovered it. He underestimated the young Uchiha afterall. Sasuke snapped his fingers and a white cloud surrounded him. Hiashi took a step back, ready to defend himself if necessary. Hinata squinted her eyes to find him, but she had no need to do that. Sasuke came out of the smoke kneeling on a large hawk. Identical to her father, she took a step back when he was suddenly at level with her. His eyes were bleeding heavily and Hinata had the urge to go and wipe them, but she was afraid. And Sasuke despised her fear. He leapt off of the hawk's head and onto Manda. The snake tensed.

"Do you realize what your offering?." Sasuke murmured, taking small steps toward her.

Hinata started moving back, "H-hai." She stuttered.

Sasuke paused in his step, "Do you fear me?."

She shook her head, "N-no."

Hinata's POV

Flashback

Day 15 of Training - 15 MORE DAYS TO GO before Jounin Exam

I was beginning to think he might just kill me. I've improved, I noticed. My stuttering, my fighting style, almost everything. But I knew it wouldn't be enough to have a proper duel with him, he was too powerful. I was on a completely different level compared to him. He must think i'm such a waste of time, I'd tell myself. Even when he hit me, pummelled me into the ground, drew blood from me, I always wandered what he thought of me.

"Don't waste my time." He snapped at me.

I wiped the sweat from my head and blinked confusedly, "What do you mean?." I asked.

"What are you thinking about?."

I didn't answer him right away, I rushed at him instead. I threw a punch, then materialized so I was behind him. I tried to swipe at his feet but he jumped and while freefalling position his knee to hit me. I rolled to the side, barely dodging his brutal attack and raised a palm.

"Hakke Kushou.' I cry out.

Sasuke fell to a press up position before my attack could connect. He glared at me, "Your avoiding my question." He growled.

"I'm thinking of you." I say, leaping to my feet, "Juuho Soushiken."

I was almost out of chakra, but I didn't care. I brushed off all the warning alarms going off in my head and gave it my all to land one hit on him. We were almost in our fourth hour of training, I was beginning to wane. I know Sasuke could sense it, which is why he started attacking me even harder now. He never said it outloud, but I knew he hated it when I would go so far as depleting myself of chakra just to hit him. He would resort to cruel measures to get me down, not just for my sake, but for his I think.

I was pinned in under five minutes, I was panting so heavily, I could barely get a decent breath. Not only that, but Sasuke kept twisting my arm behind me. I bit my lip, aware that I could taste my own blood. I didn't want to show him how painful it was, nor did I want to show my tears.

"I'll break it.." I heard him whisper, "..if you don't tell me what you were thinking about."

"I told you.." I whimper, "...I was thinking of you."

He twisted some more, "Don't lie to me." He snarled.

'It hurts.' I thought, one more twist and he'd surely break it. 'If the enemy took your eyes, is this how you'd make your last stand.' I remember him saying to me.

Yes. This was almost like a moment where I needed to make a last stand. Prove to him that even though I'm down, I still had something left to show for. That's what any Ninja would do. I closed my eyes and drowned out the pain. I had to focus.

Above me I noticed Sasuke's grip on me loosen alittle. "Hyuuga?." He muttered.

My Byakugan burst to life, 'Juukenpou Ichigekishin.'

Sasuke released my arm almost as fast as he'd grabbed it. I heard an angry growl. I lifted my head with what little strength I had to look at him. There was a large gash on his hand and I smiled to myself for how far I'd come. I managed to take him completely off guard. He didn't look pleased however when his eyes locked onto mine. I closed my eyes again, waiting for his next move. Would he kick me? Punch me? Burn me? I hoped the darkness would take me quickly.

"Damn you." I heard him mutter.

I heard rustling, felt his movement, then tensed. 'It doesn't matter now, I got him.'

So lost in my thoughts that it took me a minute to realize I was in his arms. I cracked an eye open, "A-ano...-"

"Quiet." He ordered, I think it was mean't to come out angrilly, but it didn't. He almost sounded concerned, sincere.

"Gomen."

"I'm no medic..." He explained, placing a glowing hand above my stomach, "...but Kabuto taught me the basics."

"Arigatou." I murmur with a blush, relishing in his dark chakra. Despite it being dark, it felt cool on my exposed stomach. I wouldn't lie, it did have a frightful feeling to it, but I embraced it. I'm sure he's never done this before, not for anyone. And I loved it.

"You...frustrate me."

I nodded my head, "Hai, I know." I whisper.

End of Flashback

Present Day

Sasuke stood before her now, Mangekyou glaring into her very soul. Hinata raised her hand slowly and had to stop herself from shivering as she did so. He wouldn't stop looking at her and it made her all the more nervous. His eyes were so intense, dangerous, scary. When she touched his face he didn't respond nor flinch away from her touch. Her Byakugan slowly receeded.

"I hate liars, Hinata." He said, glaring.

'Gomen.' She sadly thought. "Hai, I do fear you."

Sasuke narrowed his eyes on her that much more. Hinata removed her hand only to have it captured by his stronger one. "Why?." He demanded to know.

Down below, Hiashi was shocked. He'd never seen Hinata show such a calm face in the face of such a threat before. Said threat referring to the Uchiha boy who stood before his daughter. Either she was acting or she trusted the Uchiha enough not to hurt her. Suddenly Hiashi felt a hand on his shoulder and seconds later he found himself out of the ring of fire and standing beside the Hokage. Hiashi albeit turned angrilly to question him but stopped himself. This wasn't the idiot blonde he was accustom too, no, this was an angry Hokage in Sage Mode.

"Are you ok?." Naruto asked.

Hiashi crossed his arms, "I was fin...-"

"Hinata is the main concern, not you." Naruto stated seriously, "I am your Hokage, Hiashi-sama. Their is a limit to how far a person can push me, so the next time your given orders from somebody on my behalf, I expect you to follow them. Understood?."

Hiashi smirked. He had to admit, he had no chance against the young man. 'Spoken like a true Hokage.' He thought. "Gomen, Hokage-sama." He said.

"You little piece of...-"

Naruto stopped her chakra pumped fist from touching the man beside him, "Baa-chan, please." He said.

Tsunade's eyes widened and she thought for a moment that she saw Jiraiya. She sighed and relaxed her fist, which Naruto let go of once she was calm. She ignored the Hyuuga and like Naruto gazed up at the large snake and hawk in front of them. Above, they could just see the two shadowed figures of Hinata and Sasuke.

Sasuke tightened his hold on her wrist, "Why?." He growled.

Hinata lowered her gaze to her feet, "Your kind to me one minute, then cruel the next. You hit me harder then any enemy I've faced and then your gently fixing me back up again. You show trust in me when you want to, then you distrust me for something I've not done." By now Hinata's tears were falling, she had no control over them as she continued, "You give me comfort when I'm down, only to bring me discomfort."

Hinata snatched her wrist from Sasuke and wiped her eyes, "I didn't force you to be with me. I didn't make you do anything. You decided on your own."

Her words rang true and Sasuke suddenly felt something he hadn't felt in alongtime. The fear of losing someone. He gritted his teeth and ignored the sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach. She was going to leave him.

An image of Naruto holding Hinata passionately popped into his mind. 'No.' He angrilly thought, his fists clenching. 'No. Your mine.'

Hinata shook her head, "I don't want to be with...-"

Sasuke cut her off with a forceful, almost desperate kiss. He would hear none if it. He wrapped his arms around her possesively and pulled her into him tightly. Hinata struggled in his hold, she couldn't breathe. After a few more seconds of kissing, Sasuke released her lips and connected there foreheads together. He stared into her eyes.

"I won't let you go." He vowed, his hold on her tightening, "He'll have to kill me."

"Who?." Hinata asked, confused.

His Mangekyou receeded, "The dobe." Sasuke muttered.

"You misunderstand." Hinata said, taking a deep breath, "I don't want to be with Naruto. You did what I always dreamt Naruto would do. You wanted me. You looked at me. That was enough."

Sasuke blinked, "You..."

"Trust me..." She begged, eyes filling with hope, "...Trust in my heart. I will never stray from your eyes, ever."

From below, Naruto clenched his fists. He turned his back to them, eyes shadowed over. Tsunade looked at him concerned. Whatever Naruto had heard with the help of his Sage Mode, must've affected him deeply for him to have such a reaction. She tried to console him but he brushed her hand away gently.

"I thought we could make her Jounin a bit earlier..." Naruto whispered, "But things didn't go as planned."

"Naruto?." Tsunade said, her concern was beginning to show.

"You tried." Shikamaru said on top of a tree.

"Not hard enough." He replied, "It's over."

Hiashi sighed, "It was...partially my fault that things escalated. I couldn't wait." He admitted.

"Well, you got half of the plan right, eh?." Shikamaru said.

"Hn."

"Let's go." Naruto motioned, walking briskly away with his hands in his pockets.

"Oi." Shikamaru said, jogging to catch him.

Tsunade grabbed Hiashi's arm before he could leave, she applied brusing pressure as she said,"Now that I know what the plan was, I'm going to be straight-forward and tell you this. What you did was disgraceful. You compromised the plan, meaning you disobeyed the Hokage." She yanked him closer, "If you ever disobey Naruto again, I'll break every bone in your gutless body. Naruto's still learning the ropes of his job, so don't think he'll always be lenient." After one last squeeze Tsunade released him and left. Hiashi glanced down at the fresh bruise he received then gazed up at the shadowy figures above, before he too materialized into nothing.

The battle was long forgotten.

"Hinata." Sasuke murmured.

"Hai."

"Don't..." Sasuke thought for a moment, then said, "...Don't fear me. Ever."
