Akari cursed at Shamal as she speed-walked to the middle school. Deep in her heart, she felt like crying, but she no longer had any more tears for that. All her life she had heard people talk about her as if she were a monster or a spawn of the devil. The only people who looked past her abilities were Giotto and most of the bosses that succeeded him.

She suddenly became anxious as the school came into view. "What am I coming here for?" she thought as her pace began to slow down, "Oh, right. Him." She took a deep breath before entering the gates and pushed the double doors open. "I'm sure it was on the second floor... Maybe the third." Akari ran up the stairs and into the second floor hall and bumped into someone just as she was about to pass her third classroom. She fell to the floor and looked up at the stranger who had knocked her down. She began to apologize as she got up, "I'm sorry, I was in a hurry and—" the stranger pulled her up by her arm before she could finish her sentence.

Instead of letting her go, he kept her wrist to the side of his face so he could look her straight in the eyes. "Who are you?" asked the carnivore. As she looked back into his steel blue eyes that were full of confusion, anger, and coldness, she pulled herself together and yanked her hand away from his grasp. "Sawada Akari," she answered, "Are you Hibari Kyoya?"

The raven haired male crossed his arms before responding to her question. "I am. You shouldn't be on school property today."

"I was looking for someone."

"Other than you, I should be the only on on campus right now."

"I know... Kyoya."

Suddenly, Hibari's tonfa was holding her to the wall. "I never gave you permission to call me by my given name, herbivore." He pressed harder onto the metal stick, causing her breaths to become shorter and staggered. "I'm... sorry," she started, "I would have... thought... you were used to me... calling you that... by now... Kyoya."

Hibari was now intrigued by this and let her fall to the ground. She immediately got back up and rubbed her neck. Kyoya put his tonfa away, "What do you mean by that, Sawada Akari? Your words just now. You're awfully different from your brother; he would never say such a thing to me."

"Well, that is to say that he's my brother, correct? Last time you saw me, I never had any siblings, though, Tsuna and I really are blood related."

"You're not making any sense."

"That's because I never told you the truth, right? You wouldn't have been able to comprehend it at the age you were at."

"I'm saying I've never met you before. I could care less about your family."

"Haha, even if you said you were going to marry me when you were younger?"

"I never–" Hibari stopped midway through his protest as some memories of his childhood began to surface their way back from the depths of his mind.

"You're really pretty, Akari-chan."

"I'm flattered, but you're much prettier than me, Kyoya."

"Boys aren't supposed to be pretty! You're a girl, so you're pretty. When I'm older, we're going to get married, got it?"

"Haha, I got it. But right now, you're really pretty. You're eyes are so big and shiny, just like the moon."

Hibari blinked as he came back from his childhood memory, "I did say that, but not to you."

"That isn't true. I look the same don't I?"

"Stop talking like that! You aren't the same as her and you never will be."

Akari thought about a way to convince him, "I'm sure you remember what happened in the bathroom on the day she left? I heard you had to move after that."

Hibari was silent after that, trying to comprehend what she was saying. "This person before me can't possibly be the Akari I knew as a child. First of all, Akari would be in her mid-twenties by now. Sawada is around the same age of the one I knew back when I was younger. There is no logic, but she knows things only Akari would know." he thought.

After putting his thoughts together, he brought out his tonfa, but this time used both of them, and switched into a fighting stance. "If you're really Akari, then show me with your fighting style. If I remember correctly, Akari said she knew most martial arts, correct?"

"She did."

"If you're really her, then defeat me."

"No."

"And why not?" he bent his knees a little, getting ready to charge at her.

"Because you and I both know I always let you win."

Hibari stayed quiet for a moment, his head down, straightening himself and lowering his tonfa to his sides. "You said you weren't doing it on purpose..." he mumbled.

"Excuse me...?"

"Shut up! I refuse to believe you're her, even if you know her habits and—"

"Kyoya, it all fits once you place in the missing pieces. You just need to hear me out so I can fill those blanks for you."

"What the hell do you mean she just ran off!?" shouted Gokudera when Shamal returned to the Sawada household without Akari.

"I told you, we got into a fight and she ran off. I don't even know where she went." Shamal explained, for the fourth time, "Just calm down, I'm sure she'll come back. This is her home after all."

"How am I supposed to calm down when you of all people took her away while she was passed out!"

"I admit, that wasn't the smartest thing of me to do, but she came back for you! She told me so."

Gokudera, and everyone else in the room, stared at the man, and said in complete synchronicity, "Why would she tell you that?"

Shamal was appalled by their doubt, "Why wouldn't she!?"

"I thought girls were only supposed to gossip to other girls." Tsuna whispered to his friends.

"I heard that!" exclaimed Shamal.

"Enough." said a small voice, "We need to figure out where she went."

"Reborn!" Tsuna fell back when a melon-sized yellow bird flew in front his face.

Yamamoto blinked at the flying infant's costume before saying anything. "Isn't that Hibird? How did he get so big?"

"You idiot, that's Reborn!" Gokudera shouted to Yamamoto, annoyed with his obliviousness.

Shamal sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose, "Where would we even start?"

Once Tsuna was up again, Reborn landed on his head, "Why don't you start by telling us more details? What did she say before she left? There could be a clue there."

"Hmm." Shamal stood with his arms crossed, head bent down, and eyes closed as he focused on her last words. "Mm... she said something about coming here to see one of Tsuna's guardians to catch up with things since she last saw him. I assumed it was Hayato at the time, but we wouldn't be in this situation if it were."

Tsuna spoke up, "It isn't Yamamoto-kun, right? She only met him on her first day here."

"It can't be this brat either." Gokudera scowled at the sleeping Lambo on the floor.

Reborn hummed, and everyone shifted their gazes to him. There was a shadow looming over his eyes as he processed the identity of only candidate. "We'll have to make a trip back to school."

"Eh?" said the boys; Lambo yawned and sat up as he rubbed his sleepy eyes.

"She came back to see Hibari."

So how was it? Did I get your heads spinning with questions about Akari's identity? And how she knows Kyoya? Who is the Akari in Kyoya's past? All in due time... All in due time...
