Hey guys so sorry it's taken me a long time to update. I've been really busy lately with Contest season starting for my drill team. Since we had a snow day today, I had some extra time on my hands and just started writing. Anyways, here is the last chapter to Faction High. I hope ya'll like it.
Chapter 46:
"Hey Christina, don't forget that I'm taking you to dinner tonight." I say as I pass her in the hallway.
"I won't. Why are you running though? It's lunch time."
"Left something at home. I have to go get it before next period."
I see her shrug and then run out of the double doors of the school. I pull up into Tobias' driveway and he's outside waiting for me.
"Hey gorgeous."
He had a doctor appointment this morning to make sure his arm is completely healed and just decided to skip for the rest of the day.
"Hey Tobias." I say kissing him.
We intertwine our fingers and then walk into his house.
There are streamers hanging from the ceiling, in every doorway, and around the railing of the stairs. A stage is set up in his living room and it has turntables for a dj on it. Zeke and Uriah set up a disco ball too that's hanging from the ceiling. There are huge speakers in the corners on either side of the stage. To top it off, there are balloons everywhere and a huge banner above the stage that says Happy Birthday Christina.
"You and the guys did an amazing job setting up." I say walking onto the stage.
"Thanks. We thought it looked pretty good too." He says smiling and walking over to me. "I think that we need to test out the disco ball though."
He picks up a remote and presses a button, causing the lights to dim and the disco ball to come to life. All of Me by John Legend comes on and we start swaying to the music. I lay my head on his chest and we stay like that for a while. I look up and see him looking at me already. He opens his mouth to say something and them my phone rings. I grunt and reach into my back pocket to answer it.
"Tris where are you? You only have six minutes to get to class."
"Oh shit. I'm on my way." If I'm late again, I get Saturday class which is three hours long.
I hang up and look at Tobias.
"I'm sorry, I have to go."
"I understand babe. Go, before you're late." He says kissing my forehead.
I run out of the house and into my car. I make it back to the school in three minutes which only gives me two more to get to class.
I run as fast I can through the hallway and someone trips me. I catch myself on my hands and look back at who it was.
"That was for wrapping my house bitch. More revenge will come later." Peter says before running in the opposite direction.
"Oh yeah real original douche bag!" I scream back, remembering that this wasn't the first time this has happened.
I stand up as fast as possible and start running again. I make it into my classroom and the bell rings right after. I sign in relief and then take my seat.
The day goes by pretty fast after that. I walk out of my seventh period and meet Christina at her locker.
"You ready to go?"
"Wait, I thought we were going to dinner. It's only 3:00."
"We are, but first we're going somewhere else."
I grab her wrist and pull her out of the building. I stop her for a second and then grab her purse.
"Why are you digging through my purse?" She says confused.
I ignore her and grab her car keys. Zeke is coming out of the school, perfect timing. I throw the keys to him and tell him to drive it back to her house. He nods and then I start dragging Christina to my car again.
"Where are we going?" She asks when we get on the road.
"You'll see. We're almost there."
I go the long way to throw her off and then pull into the parking lot.
"Why was it such a big secret that we were going to the mall?" She says as we both get out.
"Because it's fun to keep secrets from you. I want you to buy a new outfit for tonight. We're going to a fancy restaurant, so it's an excuse for me to buy you a new dress. I wouldn't dare pick you out one without you approving it first."
She squeals and then practically runs into the store. I smile and roll my eyes then follow behind her.
We spent two and a half hours looking for dresses, which is good because I figured she'd spend at least three hours shopping. We found her a dress and shoes and she even made me get something for myself. She offered to pay, but I didn't let her.
My dress is royal blue, strapless, and hugs my body. It's short and has a beaded black band right under my chest. The shoes match it perfectly.
Christina's dress is black with a sweetheart neckline and is short and hugs her body too. It's glittery up top with a black band around it just like mine, but is lace below it. She got bright red shoes to wear with it and she looks absolutely fantastic in it.
We leave the store and go back to my house. My mom wishes her a late happy birthday and then we go upstairs to get ready. She curls her hair and I straighten mine. Within 30 minutes, we are both ready to go. I look at the clock and its 6:30. Our reservation is at 7:00.
"Ready?" I say grabbing my keys.
"Ready."
We get back into my car and I head for the restaurant. She looks so excited and it makes me happy. She gets one day to herself and I plan to make it very special for her.
We get to the restaurant and everything goes smoothly. Our food comes in about 10 minutes and it was amazing. She loved it. We're about to leave when I get a text.
Tobias3: Everyone is here, waiting on you two.
Me: Thanks babe. On our way!
We get back into my car and she still has a smile on her face.
"Thank you Tris. This dress is amazing and so was that diner."
"You're welcome Cris, but it isn't over yet."
"What do you mean?"
"Well Tobias, Zeke, and Uriah haven't gotten to celebrate with you, so they were hoping I would bring you over there for a bit. You know, so they could give you your presents and stuff."
"Yay!" She squeals.
I laugh and head for Tobias' house. I'm glad she bought my lie.
We pull up and the house is dark, except for the light in Tobias' room.
"Why is it so dark?"
I was afraid she'd ask that.
"They're probably in Tobias' room playing Black Ops or something. Tobias doesn't like leaving lights on all the time."
She shrugs and I let out a sigh of relief. We walk up the driveway and I put my hand on the doorknob. I open it and the room comes to life. The music starts playing right on cue and the disco ball turns on right away too. Everyone jumps out of their hiding spot and yells surprise.
The look on Christina's face is priceless. She is so surprised and happy that she starts crying. I laugh and then throw my arms around her.
"Happy birthday Chis."
"I love you so much!" She says squeezing me as tight as she could.
"I love all of you guys!" Christina says as the guys come into sight.
The party gets going and it's the wildest one of the year. Everyone is having so much fun, and Christina is gone. She's stumbling all over the place and Will can't stop laughing at her. We were all dancing in the middle of the room and then the DJ stops the music.
"Okay this song was requested specifically for one lucky girl. It's time to slow it down now and find your girlfriend/boyfriend."
The song starts and then Tobias emerges from the middle of the crowd with his hand out. I smile and take it. This is one of my favorite songs beside All of Me. It's Never Stop (Wedding Version) by Safetysuit.
We start swaying, just like we did earlier today and it's perfect. Like before, I lift my head up from his chest and he is looking at me. I look into his eyes and then he opens his mouth. There's nothing to stop him from speaking now.
"You know, I'm the one who requested this song."
"No I didn't know that. You've got good taste though. This is one of my favorite songs."
He kisses me on the forehead and then talks again.
"Tris, there's something I've been meaning to tell you."
"Go for it." I say not breaking eye contact with him.
"Tris, I love you."
My heart stops right when he says those words. We stop dancing and are just standing on the dance floor.
"Tris?" I try to speak, but no words come out. I can't move either.
"Tris, please, please say something."
My heart stops beating again and I throw my arms around him and smash my lips against his.
"I love you too Tobias."
He gets the biggest smile on his face and then picks me up and spins me around. We start dancing again and neither of us can stop smiling. The song goes off and we kiss again, this time for a really long time. No one notices because they're all too drunk.
Tobias Eaton just told me that he loved me, and I love him too. This day is perfect. I am happy for once in a long time. Moving here was the best decision my parents ever made and I never thought I'd say that. I would have never met my best friends, or the love of my life. I couldn't ask for anything more or anything better. My life is perfect and hopefully it's going to stay this way for a long time.
Well there you have it. The end of Faction High. I hope you guys liked this chapter and the whole story. Thank you for all of the support. This story wouldn't even be here if it wasn't for ya'll. I love ya'll so much. Still review and tell me what ya'll thought of the whole story or just this chapter. Thank you again for favoriting, reviewing, and just encouraging me to keep going.
