That Love-Hate Beginning:

Sorry for the late update :( I actually abandoned this fanfic since I lost my motivation to write it. But then, I kept on getting email notifications through my phone that I was gaining new readers and followers. My motivation slowly grew, and what made me really want to continue were the reviews :) So I hope If I still have my past readers, if you're one of those silent readers, please just leave a review no matter now short it is ^^ (Even if it's just a smily face)

BTW I know some of you might think Kise Is being a little OOC, but I can actually see Kise being like this after growing up a few more years well not that much of a playboy~ Probably just dating around. hahah So according to his wiki, he's 16 in the anime and is in the first year of highschool I assume since he's in the same batch as Kuroko and Kagami. In this fanfic, he's doing his second semester in college, so he's around 19.

OH and one more thing, if you're concerned about the ages between Rika and Kise since Rika is Akashi's twin haha no worries~ Akashi is younger than Kise, so Rika is younger that Kise. Sorry if All of these are confusing yall.

I hope this cleared some things for you readers :)

DISCLAIMER: I don't own Kuroko No basuke

Rika POV:

I stomped my way to the entrance of the mansion, angry at my own twin brother. It was all because he never told me that I will once again be studying in the same school as my mortal enemy! Oh why do I have to go through the same cycle again?

"Rika..." Sei-niichan called out from behind as I furiously climbed up the stairs.

I turned my head and narrowed my eyes at him. "What."

"I didn't mean to put you two in the same area...I mean I actually forgot about you and Ki-" I halted him by raising my hand, pausing him from what he was about to say.

I turned my head and said "Don't even mention his name. I never want to hear it again."

He sighed and shook his head "You hate him that much?"

I stayed silent, I let out a heavy puff of air through my nose and walked away. I intended to just lock myself in my room but ran into mom on the way there. She was looking at some portraits hanging on the walls of the hallway.

"Mom...what are you doing here all alone?" I asked, feeling all the anger which had built-up draining away. She turned her head and looked surprised yet happy to see me.

"Rika, you're home." She smiled and looked around "Where's your brother?" She asked. I looked back and saw he wasn't around.

"Probably downstairs." I replied, I turned my head back to her and walked towards her.

"Well, to answer your question before, I was looking at these family portraits. They bring so much memories." She said, studying the old family portrait with care. When she was done, She guided herself down the hallway, with me following her. I helped to push her out to the balcony nearby. I knew this balcony had always been her favorite because of the Garden view.

I stopped her wheelchair half a meter away from the rail and stood beside her. A comfortable silence filled the air. The smell of the flowers invaded our nostrils. I smiled but when my eyes landed on the bed of yellow carnations, I frowned at the first thing that came to my mind the moment I saw them. In the world of flowers, if yellow carnations were human, they're be cheerful , the moment I saw them, they reminded me of that idiot.

"Oh? We have a beautiful scenery, the air is fragrant...yet you're frowning?" Mom asked with a soft smile. I glanced at her for a second and looked back at the scenery.

"I wasn't frowning..." I denied.

"Well it wasn't a smile either wasn't it?" She asked and laughed softly. "My dear, what has gotten you upset? You were frowning in the hallway as well."

I was about to deny again, but when I turned my head to look at her, I knew she would see through me like glass. I sighed, giving up and looked back at the garden. "I met the cause of my misery." I stated plainly. It made mom laugh.

"Last time I heard that 'nickname' you were referring to Kise-kun..." She said the last part quietly but I still heard it. I sulked and sat on the floor, dramatically resting my head and folded arms on my mother's lap.

"Why is life so evil to me mom?" I asked as I continued to sulk.

"More like Cupid is testing you two...It must be fate." She said, making me frown even more if that was possible.

"Mooooom~ Not you too!" I whined.

"Not me too?" She laughed and asked "I'm not the only one who thinks like so?"

"Seriously mom. No." I moved to sit beside her, hugging my knees against my chest. I stared through the spaces between the ceramic railing. "If he and I get together that way, It would be the beginning of a deadly nightmare about the end of the world. And I'm not kidding." I said and added "Just the thought of it makes my skin crawl." I exaggerated as I rubbed my exposed arms, to push away the goosebumps which were actually appearing.

"Oh you're exaggerating~ It wouldn't be THAT bad." She commented as she patted my head. "Has it never occurred to you that he might actually be your destined guy seeing how you two are constantly being brought together?" She asked.

I thought about it and my face just instantly became white, feeling cold to the bone. "Ugh I never want to think about such things ever again. Stop saying scary things mom." I said as I shook my head.

"Oh you and your exaggeration again~" She commented with a smile. "But if you two do start dating, I should be the first one to know."

I shot my head towards her, I looked at her with my eyes widen, eyebrows furrowed together and my mouth gaping wide open. "Mom!"

She laughed and closed my mouth for me. "Don't get angry that easily or you'll develop more wrinkles before I do." She smiled and turned her wheelchair to go back to her room. I watched her leave since she reassured me that she was capable to do it herself.

When she was out of sight, I sighed and rested my jaws on my knees. "Honestly...Why is everyone saying those impossible things? I will never understand them..."

Kise's POV:

I have been standing here, dribbling this ball for who knows how long. But my mind is just in chaos. First of all, the media is going all over me, the paparazzi would definitely follow me once I'm out of the college grounds. Secondly, the attack of angry college women. Thirdly, the attack of an angry college lecturer and lastly, my nightmare came true!

AGAIN!

I clenched my jaws and threw the ball I had been dribbling to the hoop, but with the furious strength I used, it hit the glass board. The sound of its impact echoed around the sports hall. I sighed and sat on the floor, staring at the ball which firstly bounced, rolled and stopped a few meters away from me.

"It's not like you to lose temper." A voice popped out of nowhere.

"UWAA!" I yelled out and landed on my side, shocked by the sudden voice. I clenched my jersey and whined "Doooon't dooo thaaat Kurokocchiiiiiii~ Or I might die early from a heart condition~"

I turned my head and saw Kuroko who wasn't alone.

Momoicchi waved a hand to me with a smile as she peeked from behind Kurokocchi. "You look like you had a bad day Ki-chan." She stated. Kurokocchi and Momoicchi exchanged looks and he just smiled at her statement. She just stifled a giggle.

I frowned and looked back at my front, not even bothering to sit up. "What are you two still doing here?"

"Tetsu-kun accompanied me to meet my basketball coach, the meeting took longer than we expected." Momoicchi explained. I chuckled quietly, why would Kurokocchi accompany another team's manager to meet her coach? Well whatever the reason is, I'm sure she's didn't complain.

"Hmmm...So why are YOU still here?" Kurokocchi asked. I frowned again, ugh.

"Paparazzi everywhere. I don't feel like driving." I said lazily.

"He's sulking." I heard the pink haired woman whisper to the blue haired guy.

I grunted and said "I'm not sulking. I'm just...upset with how things are right now."

Narattor's POV:

"You're upset after reuniting with your long time distant girlfriend?" Momoi asked with an innocent tone. Kise's reaction just made her laugh.

He rolled to the basketball and took it and threw it to her, knowing she'd catch it. He sighed frustratingly and sat up, turning his head towards the two people. "Seriously. WHY do people keep on thinking I'M. IN. A. SECRET. RELATIONSHIP. WITH. THAT. WOMAN?!"

"I don't know...hmmm" She thought for a while.

"Cause you two fight like an old married couple." Kuroko replied blankly. Hearing that from Kuroko made Kise frown yet again.

"You too Kurokocchi?! And what's that supposed to mean?! Old married couples don't fight like us! More like a divorced couple."

"Oh you're admitting you two are a couple?" Momoi asked to tease him more since the word couple did come out of his mouth when the topic was about him and Rika.

"WHAT. NO! What I meant was- That- She- I- HNNNGGGG! I meant that old married couples would fight over small stuff like topics that don't even make sense too!" But he was only greeted with silence and both Momoi and Kuroko just looked at him with a 'Are you fu*king serious?' expression.

Kise then recalled how he and Rika were fighting over small stuff and even pointless topics about her perfume that afternoon. He raised a hand to them as he looked away from them and at the floor. "Dont. Say a word." He stood up and left. It was an indication to them that he just realized that they do fight like an old married couple. Momoi laughed with Kuroko silently laughing as well. With nothing else to do in the basketball court, Kuroko sent her home safely before going his own way home.

As expected, he was stalked around by the paparazzi, but at one point, he just lost them thanks to his furious driving speed. It was a miracle, he didn't encounter any road polices while he was trying to get away from the paparazzi.

Once he reached home, he parked in front of the entrance door of his modern villa. He dragged his feet inside the house but the moment he opened his bedroom door, he was greeted by his parents. They sat on his bed, with stern expressions. His father had his arms crossed and his mother looked away in disappointment.

"Kise Ryouta. You have put me into shame. Have you never thought that whatever you do will affect your mother and I?" His father started.

Kise sighed and asked "Aren't you two supposed to be somewhere in Shanghai? Why are you here?"

His mother scoffed at him and looked at her son in utter disbelief "We haven't seen each other for almost a year and a half, and that is how you greet us?"

Kise gave them his back to hang his coat on the rack "It's not my fault you two don't want to see me every time I wanted to visit." He mumbled.

"Don't mumble. It's not a proper habit to have. If you have something to say. Say it to our faces, Ryouta." His father started as he stood up. "You better tell the media that the man in those pictures weren't you. That you were framed."

"Why do I have to lie to other people for YOU?" Kise asked with his eyebrows furrowed.

"Are you talking back to me? We leave you for a year in this country and you dare to talk back to me now?" He asked glaring at his blonde son. "Listen YOU. If you don't lie to the public, what do you think would happen to our image? You mother and I have a whole company to run. We'll sue you for ruining our images."

His mother stood beside her husband and crossed her arm, squinting her eyes at her son as if he was made out of filth.

"No." Kise replied quietly.

"...W...what did you say?" His father asked, his tone clearly getting angrier than he already was.

Kise turned to them, he looked hurt by how they were treating him despite him being their own biological son.

"NO." They finally broke him. "You know what? I'll tell you this. YES, I sleep with a lot of women, I'm not cheating on anyone cause I'm not dating any of them. But I don't feel ashamed telling you two this, cause you know why?" He scoffed at the thought of what he was going to say.

"I learnt all of this from the best." Both his parents looked at him in bewilderment.

"You think I don't know why you cut me off? Out of your fucking lives for good? When I said I learnt from the best, of course I meant YOU." He directed to his father. "You cut me off right after I found out about it. Then dear mother, decided to follow your steps to pay you back. So in the end you both ended up cheating on each other."

His parents looked horrified and were about to explode on him but were cut off "No let me speak. Maybe the reason why you never treated me like a son was cause you already have many others to even care for me." Even though whatever he said sounded like an exaggeration to other people, but among the people in the room, they knew it was true.

But before Kise could even continue, a raging fist flew to his face and it sent him to the floor. The blonde teenager winced in pain, and felt light headed from the heavy impact. "Go to hell." his father stated with a tone full with heavy hatred.

When Kise finally processed the fact that his own father had punched him on the face and after the words he uttered to him. He became silent. His mother also couldn't processes the scene that just happened.

"I want to see those rumors cleared by tomorrow morning. Or I'll sue you for sure." The older man ordered.

But after a few seconds of silence, Kise finally replied "If you were going to treat me like this..." He slowly got on his feet and asked his mother "Why did you even give birth to me? If you never intended to take care of me?" It was true, after he was born, according to his late nanny, he was taken care by her and the only time he gets to be with his own mother would be when she had to feed him breast milk and she would leave for work right after that. As he grew up, he would only spend time with his parents when they ate dinner together.

At his sudden question they could only reply him with cold silence. Kise took a deep breath and looked away from them. "Leave."

"First you talk back and now you're kicking us out?" His mother asked with an angry expression.

" 'Kick out' huh?...Somehow those two words brings back bad memories. Oh right. That's exactly what you two did to me on my 15th birthday." He said quietly which they both heard. "I won't lie for you. Sue me if you want to. I don't fuc*king care anymore. But just a reminder, if you do, as long as it's me you're suing, it WILL get to the media that the ones who sued me are my own parents. Unless you want to ruin your images even more, then go ahead and sue me. I'll be awaiting for the news by tomorrow." Kise said.

His parents exchanged looks and glared at their son. Without saying anything anymore, they left without even glancing back.

After all of the ruckus, he plopped on his bed. Crying his heart out sounded tempting to him, but all he could do was process how much pain his heart was taking. His heart which had been broken way to many times by the two adults who were in his room a minute ago.

After about an hour, he drifted to sleep.

The next day, No news of him being sued came to him, so he knew his parents ended up not wanting to ruin their own images even more.

College had been pretty 'normal' excluding the angry women and the constant questions about the bruise on Kise's right cheek. Which he explained it was because he slipped in the bathroom cause it was too steamy due to the hot water. Many laughed at the reason and called him silly or say "clumsy Kise strikes again"

Most of the angry women had forgiven him after seeing the bruise, believing the reason behind the bruise. They thought that he was probably too distracted with all the stress he was having due to the constant hate he was receiving.

Kise's POV:

I had spent my day smiling away at people like I always do, as an attempt to distract myself from thinking about yesterday's incident with my parents. Another attempt were having continuous conversations with the women who forgave me and were now back to swarming around me.

"Ki-channnn!" I heard a familiar voice behind me. I turned my head and spotted her right away since I was obviously taller than the group of girls. And also because she was walking with Aominecchi

"Momoicchi!~ Sorry about being all pissy yesterday at you and Kurokocchi~" I said with a grin and a hand up in front of my face as an apologizing gesture.

"That's quite fine. It was a funny experience." A voice came out of nowhere from beside me. Which made ma and the girls around me jump in shock and horror.

"GAAAAAAaaa...aaa...ah...It's just you Kurokocc- WAIT HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN BESIDE ME?!" I asked the blue haired guy with the changes in my tone.

"I've been walking with you ever since we got out of class together." He replied plainly.

I could only look at him with my eyes squinted and mouth gaping open. 'I DIDN'T EVEN NOTICE!' I thought to myself and I was pretty sure I wasn't the only one thinking that way.

"Ki-channnn~! I need your help!" Momoicchi asked with hopeful eyes. While Aominecchi and Kurokocchi just continued walking, thinking we would catch with them later on.

"Of course~ What can I do to help you?~"

"GREAT!" She said with a big grin. That was when I thought I was going to regret saying 'of course'. She ran back searching for something or someONE, and just as I thought. She came back to me dragging someone I didn't ever want to see.

Narrator's POV:

"Stop talking to strangers and pretend you're best friends so I don't get to drag you around." Momoi said to the red-head she was dragging.

"Okay so...Here." Momoi said as she pulled Rika in between her and Kise. They both glared at each other. "Oh look at how you two are staring at each other with such passion!" Both Rika and Kise looked at Momoi wondering if she had a screw loose in her head. They didn't know exactly how she saw them staring at each other with so much hatred as passionate.

"No. I said I'd help you. Not this onna!" He said.

Rika let out a frustrated sigh as she closed her eyes, remembering how "onna" was the first word that came out of his mouth when everything starting.

"Exactly! Help me give her a tour around campus! I have a manger's meeting to attend!" She explained in a hurry as she started to leave.

"HAAAH?! WHY DO I HAV-"

"THANKS KI-CHAN~ SEE YOU TWO LATER~" She yelled before she turned a corner and was gone from their sight.

Kise turned his head to look at the red head just in time for her to look at him, so then ended up making direct eye contact again.

"..."

"..."

"..."

"..."

"I'm not giving you a tour!" He said as he rose a finger at her.

"I wasn't asking for one! I was toured around yesterday! Momoi-chan is just...Idk why she insists on giving me a tour again..."

A moment of silence came by again and the girls around Kise just moved away from the scene. But the two were thinking the exact same thing.

'That pink haired girl...I know what she's trying to do. NO WAY IN HELL!'

They decided to keep their mouths shut so the stupid fights won't start again. They began to walk their own paths, but they were still going towards the same direction.

"STOP FOLLOWING ME!" Rika said to Kise cause she was getting creeped out that he had been behind her all the time she was walking.

"I"M NOT! I'm going to the basketball courts!" He exclaimed back.

"...I'm going there too...So let me walk ahead first so I don't get this strange aura I'm sensing whenever you're behind me."

"WHA-...You're unbelievable. No. Why would I let you walk ahead? I'll be late if I go slower than this." Kise said as he walked ahead of her.

She was baffled, She walked faster to catch up to him so he wouldn't be walking ahead of her.

"Oh they're here..." Kuroko said as he stretched with the other guys.

Momoi ran towards him after she heard it from far away. "WHERE? WHE-...Oh...They..."

"They should at least look at their pathway while walking...I know right." Rika's twin brother Akashi said as he stopped jogging when he was right where they all were.

The said pair were apparently glaring at each other while walking towards the courts. Once they reached the others, they parted ways, both going to different directions.

Everything they did had others stifling their laughs.

Kise had left to change into his jersey. When he went out in the open, he saw how more of the girls who were hating on him yesterday had basically forgiven him already. They swarmed around him.

Most of them were apologizing to him for getting angry at him yesterday.

His eyes drifted away from the girls and landed onto a depressed looking red-head sitting at the rakuzan benches. She was opening the plastic wrap of the bread she bought earlier while ignoring the overly energetic orange-haired guy, Kotaro Hayama, who kept on trying to talk to her. She sighed and accidentally made eye-contact with Kise.

She frowned when she saw his face, Kise chuckled and put his arms around the two nearest girls on each of his side. He then grinned and skipped away with them to Kaijo's share of the court. He wasn't able to show any sign of 'affection' when many of 'those' girls were around, but now that they know his true nature, he thought It'd be fine now.

She gritted her teeth and took an big angry bite of her bread as she watched him walk away trying to give he a message that he was probably more popular than her (Since he had five girls around him and she only had one guy bugging her).

"Oh what's this I see? Is he trying to make you jealous?" Momoi asked as she jogged to Rika.

Trying to dismiss Momoi's question, She changed the topic "Whaai du yu kiiepf livengfph yor poussth? AI thoaught yu war Tōō'sh manangher (Why do you keep leaving your post? I thought you were Tōō's Manager)..." Rika asked with her mouth still stuffed with bread.

"Hold on...I don't know how, but I understood everything you said...But to answer your question, I was told to bug off" She said sadly.

"Lemme guess...by that tall tan dude you're always with?" Rika said after swallowing her food.

"Mhmmm..." She said with her head low "Because I was cheering them too loudly"

Rika looked at her weirdly "Oh..."

"Whaaaat~ Why are you looking at me like that?!" She asked slapping her arm softly.

The red-head laughed and said "Nothing...Well~ Don't let them bring you down, I have a friend who's just like you back where I was from...But seriously, him just telling you to bug off doesn't translate to 'I hate you go away forever' "

This in return made Momoi laugh "He's tells me to bug off most of the time though haha..."

"Nyeh~ Just ignore him, then he'll notice the difference. But I've got a question, does uhh what's his name...Kuroko? yeah him...Does he really not mind you hanging around another guy more than you are with him? I mean, I don't know about these love things, So I get curious a lot..."

"W-w-w-w-w-whaaaat?! Wh...why would he mind?"

"Uhhh...Cause you're his girl...friend?...Wait you two aren't together?" Rika asked in disbelief.

Momoi's face was now as red as Rika's hair. "Wh...wh...why would you think so?" She asked shyly looking down while tracing circles onto her own thigh.

"Cause you two act like the couples I see around? I mean I know you're always around that tan dude-"

"Aomine Daiki" Momoi added just for the sake of it.

"-ahhh yeah him, But I could only see you two are just close friends, but you're always...how do I say this...well basically, I accidentally saw you two sharing a piece of bread during lunch...Then I heard how he accompanies you when he thinks it could be dangerous for a girl to go alone, I also accidentally saw how you saved his name on your phone as- mmfhhh!" Momoi covered the red-head's mouth before she continued further.

"You're pretty observant..." Momoi started with a smile. Where she only got a shrugg as a reply.

She let the girl's mouth go and got distracted by the loud whistles indicating all the players should be on their own courts and not anywhere else.

A long comfortable silence dawned onto them while they watched the boys play their own games.

"So what's with the news going around that you're married with Kise?" Momoi started a new conversation.

Rika chocked on the last piece of bread that was in her mouth. She struggled to find her twin's bottle and once she did, she drank half of it to make the food go down her throat.

"Judging from your reaction...It's true?! Like you're shocked people found out?!"

Rika couldn't even talk yet cause every time she did, she would cough. She just made crossing hand gestures. But Momoi looked at her with suspicion.

"Really now...Something smells fishy..."

Rika shook her head and drank down her twin's water again, leaving him with only a quarter of the bottle to drink.

She chocked more and just stood up to walk away. She just had to get away from the suspecting woman to avoid any unnecessary suspicions.

Wellllllll ahahaha finally done with chapter 4 xD Yes, so much going on here~ There's a 'hint' of Kuroko x Momoi kekeke~ You can also see how Kise is with his parents, If you've heard of the quote "The cheerful person who always makes other people laugh, is usually the loneliest." In my opinion, this is true :[ Like outside public, they're cheerful and they love making other people laugh, but when they're alone, they usually have their mind pre-occupied with their problems. Or they just might have a bad past or something.

But sorry for showing ya'll how dark his past is in this fanfic of mine haha and for revealing a seriously pissed off to the gut Kise

Welpp Hope you enjoyed it ^^ I'll try to update soon (I'm busy with my application to a university and all + I'll be going to driving school soon TT^TT)
