Leo's POV
Everything started getting darker.
Need to get home. Need to get home. I thought as I jumped to the next roof. Come on, just a little further.
"I'm so stupid." I mumbled, landing on the last roof and carfully making my way to the alley. I squinted so I could see the manhole opening. What did the kraang use anyway?!
I jumped down the manhole and pulled the cover back over, now not being able to see anything. I was coming home from a kraang warehouse where I was trying to clear my head and take out my anger about Mikey's loss. The kraang sprayed some kind of chemical that I'm guessing is like blinding powder. My eyes still burned. I shook my head and felt the cold brick wall on my hands to guide me home.
I squinted, looking ahead to try to see the glow of the lair. Nothing. Just, black.
"I-it'll wear off soon, I'm sure." I told myself. My foot hit something and bent over, cringing. I can't be at the lair already, I don't see any lights. I thought, moving my hand around to find the turnstiles. I felt the cold metal of one and carefully walked through, squinting and trying to look around.
"Leo!" Came Mikey's voice from across the room. I forrowed my brows, trying to see.
"H-hey Mikey." I said as Mikey almost knocked my over with a one-handed bear hug (Or, well, I assume that it was Mikey).
"Where were you?" He asked, letting go. I heard him step back and squinted.
"Um, topside." I said after a little silence, "C-can you help me over to the couch, I got, uh, sprayed with blinding powder." I said timidly. I listened to Mikey's breathing change as I could only imagine the worried look he was probably giving me.
"Sure," He said, looping his right arm into my left and walking me over. I kept my face down, a little embarrased by the whole situation, "there's a step." He said, slowing down and getting lower. I slid my foot forward and carefully stepped down.
"Thanks," I said quietly, sitting down and leaning back. I heard soft tapping and guessed that Mikey was leaving to get Don or something. There were more sets of tapping and I rested my head in my hands.
I don't Raph, of all turtles, to see me like this. I thought, hearing the taps come closer. Someone sat down beside me and I turned away. The turtle smelt like pancakes and chemicals. Great, Don was cooking.
"Leo?" Don's voice came. I sat back up and turned in the direction of the voice.
"Just, make this stuff wear off." I said in almost a whisper.
"Can you see anything? Light? Shapes?" He asked. I squinted and looked around, turning back to him and shaking my head no.
"Just tell me that I'll be okay and we'll all go in with our life." I said, getting frustrated and nervous at the same time. There was a silence that made me get that nervous feeling in my gut.
"L-leo," He said softly. I bit my lip and took deep breaths, "Leo, you... you're eyes are glazed over." I tried taking deep breaths. I tried to push down the sadness. I couldn't though. I started crying. Hard.
Don wrapped his arm around me as I cried on his shoulder. I felt another arm wrap around me and assumed it was Mikey since Raph wasn't the hugging type.
"It's okay Leo." I heard Mikey say as he rested his head on my shell (or I assume). How am I supposed to protect my brothers when I'm here crying and blind? I sniffled a little, my sobs subsiding. I sat up and shook Mikey and Donnie's arms off, wiping my unseeing eyes.
"It's going to be okay Leo." Don said, putting a hand on my shell. I bit the side of my lip and faced the ground.
"J-just lead me to my room please." I said, my voice still shaking and my breathing still uneven. Don stood and helped me up, carefully leading me to my room. I faced the ground. I've lived in the lair for fifteen years now and I can't find the way to my own freakin' room.
"Here it is." Don said, stopping and dropping his arm from mine. I reached out and felt the entrance.
"Th-thanks Don." I said, walking in.
"I want to do a check-up on you after you've gotten some rest." He said, his voice getting further away, "Call me if you need anything." He yelled, his footsteps fading away. I slowly made my way over to my bed and when I did, I collasped onto it. I started crying again, harder then before. My hands shook as I held them to my face. To my blind eyes. I sat on the edge of myed and leaned over, resting my elbows on my knees.
"Why?" I whispered, my shoulders shaking.
Right then, I kind of wished that it was my arm instead of my sight that I lost.
If you're wondering why I had to add Leo in on this, it's because this is most likely gonna end up as SAINW beginning thingy (even though I already have an alternate story that contridicts this one *shrug*)
I hope you liked it :3
