Freedom's eyes opened. Daylight slowly shining through his eyelids. Blinking a couple times, he looked around. Rain lied next to him, along with his sister. He got up, still a bit confused.

"Good morning, Freedom" Rain said in a comforting voice.

"Oh, good morning, Ma'am" he said with a shake of his head.

"You can call me Rain dear, Don't worry" she said as she put her head back down, Wisdom still asleep.

He nodded when he heard whinnies and snorts near him. It was the two other foals, playing and jumping.

"Hey Freedom! Come on!" Swift yelled as he reared.

Freedom was hesitant to leave Wisdom, so he walked over and nuzzled her. She woke and jumped up, a bit startled. Freedom nuzzled her, and motioned his head to the colt and filly playing. She nodded and they trotted over.

"We thought you two would never wake up!" Prairie said with a nicker.

"I guess yesterday was a pretty big day," Freedom said.

"Well lets go then!" Swift yelled as he bucked and cantered a circle around the group.

"Go where?" Wisdom asked, tilting her head.

"Just go! Play! RUN!" Swift yelled.

Wisdom looked to freedom, and shrugged.

"Okay," Freedom said with a shrug as he looked at Swift.

Swift whinnied and Prairie reared when the two of them took off. Freedom and Wisdom were confused at first, but then just started to gallop. The four ran along the plain, wind whipping, mane flying, tail blowing in the wind like waves in the great sea. As they ran, Wisdom felt free. For the first time in her life, she could do whatever she wanted. She whinnied and picked up her pace to the front of the group. Freedom followed close behind and they all ran in a line.

"This is amazing!" Freedom yelled.

"Just wait!" Prairie laughed, as they made it to a shallow pond. Each of them galloped through the water, splashing and leaping into the air. They laughed and reared as they played, and each one of them was having a great time. They stopped at an apple tree near by. Freedom lied down, legs pulsing from the run. Prairie grazed on sweet grass by the tree, and Wisdom lied in the shade. The grass under the tree was cool and hydrated, making for a very comfortable grass bed. Swift walked over to her and lied by her.

"Isn't this great?" he asked her as he rolled onto his back. "We can do whatever we want, not a care in all the land" he said with a refreshing sigh.

"It really is. I've never felt this way before." She said as she looked up at the clear blue sky. Not a cloud to be seen.

"Felt like what?" he asked questioningly.

"Free" she said as she looked over at him, then lied onto her side. Her growing mane lying in the grass, flowing past each blade. She shut her eyes and took it in, letting the song of the bird touch her heart.

Each colt and filly now stood back with the herd. It was a long run back, and they were all tired. That was when Spirit walked over to each of them. He nickered and nuzzled Prairie and Swift. When he walked to Freedom and Wisdom, he nuzzled them too.

"Welcome to my herd. Im sure you have made acquaintance with everyone. It is a pleasure for you to be joining us" he said with a soft nicker when he walked over to Rain.

"Alright! You're one of us now" Prairie said as she nuzzled the both of them playfully.

"Yeah! Welcome to the Cimarron Herd!" Swift said as he nickered to them. They nickered back, and each of them lied down in the grass. Wisdom lied by Freedom, Swift lied by Wisdom, and Prairie lied by Swift. Each of the horses fell asleep, hearts beating in sync of the butterflies wing. Graceful, free, beautiful, and wild.
