Chapter Two: I'm an Animal

*PLOP!*

Beast Boy sat down on the floor in the hallway and put his head in his hands. His mind was racing and he wasn't one to do much thinking, but now he was thinking of a million things at once.

"Beasty? I think we should go into another room so we can talk." Cyborg replied kneeling next to his best friend.

"Are you okay?" Cyborg asked once he had stepped into Beast Boys room and the door shut behind him. He looked around and to his surprise the room was clean. Granted there were some clothes balled up in the corner but the carpet was vacuumed, the bed made, and the room didn't smell like a zoo. "Wow! Dating Raven has been really good for him. She has him cleaning." Cyborg thought to himself. He looked at his friend who had sat down on his bed and was staring blankly at the wall across from him.

"Are you okay?" Cyborg repeated. Beast Boy didn't answer and his usual deep green complexion was pale and clammy. Cyborg had never seen his friend in such a devastated state.

"Come on Beasty being a dad isn't the end of the world." Cyborg said with a smile hoping to shed some light on the situation. "I mean you and Raven are great together. Granted your kid will be half animal and half demon, but it won't be so bad. You guys will make great parents! And I will make a great Uncle! I can see it know your kid running up to me screaming out Happy Uncle's Day! Do they have Holidays for Uncle's? Probably!" Cyborg was semi-serious about the holiday but was also hoping to put a smile on his buddy's face.

"This isn't a joke Cy. You don't understand anything. How can I be a parent? I'm an animal. A dirty filthy animal. I never knew my parents and I have no idea how to raise a child. Also what will Robin say? You know how he is. He cares more about the name Teen Titans than our actual lives. He would never allow Raven to stay here or me knowing we are parenting a child. He would flip out and kick both of us out. I love Raven with all of my heart but this isn't good. We aren't ready." Beast Boy's head hung low and he began to quietly sob.

"Hey man, don't cry." Cyborg said sitting next to Beast Boy. "Robin will never be able to kick you or Raven out. He may be tough and a bit of an asshole at times but we are a family. We look out for each other. So turn that frown upside down and go see Raven. You guys have a lot to talk about and I'm sure when she wakes up she's going to want to see you." Cyborg smiled and left the room to talk to Robin. He knew Robin wouldn't approve so he would do his best to keep Robin in the dark until Beast Boy and Raven were at least able to talk things out.

Raven had slept for 6 hours before opening her eyes. She looked around and quickly recognized she was in her room.

"What happened? How did I get here? Why am I so tired?" She thought.

She looked over after noticing a green dog curled up next to her bed and smiled.

"He can never sleep in human form. I wonder why." She said smiling.

"It's uncomfortable." Beast Boy responded looking up, changing back into his human form and smiling. "How are you feeling babe?" He asked.

"Ugh I'm exhausted and embarrassed. I passed out on a mission and Terra got away. How could I let this happen?" Raven said in her same monotonous voice. On the inside she was sad and wanted nothing more than to cry. She felt like a failure.

"Don't be so hard on yourself. You did great and I'm just glad you're okay. Cyborg scanned you and said you are just suffering from exhaustion." His eyes were calm but his voice was shaky and Raven knew something was wrong.

"What did Cyborg tell you?" Raven asked.

"…..You're…Pregnant….." Beast Boy said hesitantly.

"Is that all?" Raven said blankly as if the news didn't affect her.

"What do you mean is that all!? That's pretty big news Raven! Why aren't you concerned!? Do you not care!?"

"Beast Boy. I already knew I was pregnant. I'm half demon for Pete's sake. I knew I was pregnant 3 weeks ago." Raven said staring at Beast Boy unemotionally.

"3 WEEKS!? 3 WEEKS!? YOU'VE KNOWN FOR 3 WEEKS!? WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME!? I LOVE YOU RAVEN BUT YOU ARE HEARTLESS!" Beast Boy said with rage.

"I was scared to tell you." Raven said now looking down at her hands and her voice quivering. "I was scared you would get upset like you are now."

Beast Boy calmed down and climbed into bed with her and pulled her close and held her. "I'm sorry I snapped. This is just big for me. I want to be a dad but I'm an animal and I don't know how to be a dad. I'm not good with serious situations and responsibilities. But I'm willing to work through it with you." He said smiling and kissing Raven's forehead.

A tear ran down Raven's cheek as she was held by Beast Boy. Not even 5 minutes went by when the door suddenly opened.

Robin stepped in, saw the two cuddling and walked out. Just before the door shut behind him he fiercely said, "Both of you. Conference Room. NOW."
