I do not own Naruto Shippuden or any of the characters. Sorry it took sop long to write this, I got distracted, a lot.
Lunar Zombies
Naruto sighed leaning against the side of the Shikotsumyaku ship he had made. Hinata was leaning against the side beside him and Sasuke and Sakura were both standing at the helm arguing about what way they should be going.
"You never even went there!" Sakura said.
"And you've never seen a map to get there," Sasuke said.
"It's not up to either of you," Naruto said. "It's my ship and I can control it with my chakra. I decide which way it goes and the Crescent Moon Kingdom is under those storm clouds."
He pointed to the west at a massive circle of pitch black storm clouds with seas below that were throwing easily fifty feet high waves. Sasuke steered toward it and Sakura groaned and leaned on the railing beside the helm. Everyone knew that if the ship sunk under the waves, there would be no possible way for them to make it to the island. Even if Naruto destroyed his ship, the currents would pull them God knows where. Naruto Gripped the railing tighter as they drew near the clouds. He may have been cured of the disease but he still felt sick and Sasuke still had to rub his eyes every few minutes to stop them feeling irritated after having Itachi's Sharingan implanted.
"We'll be okay," Hinata said resting her hand on his.
"I'm not so sure," Naruto said.
"Naruto," Sasuke said. "How many Tailed Beasts do you think are left?"
"I think at least one and at most three," Naruto said.
"I saw the Akatsuki Hideout once and there was a statue there with two eyes closed and seven open, nine total," Sasuke said.
"Then there are two of us left," Naruto said. "We'll need to free the rest to have a chance."
"We'll need to find the other one first," Sasuke said. "From what I've seen, we still have to deal with Pein, Tobi, Sasori again, Kakuzu again probably, Konan, and Black and White Zetsu. I've never seen Zetsu fight but he's the right hand of Tobi so he's got to be powerful. Pein is officially the leader so probably the second strongest, Tobi and Madara are obviously the biggest threats, and Konan is probably very skilled but I've never even seen her."
"Alright," Naruto said. "I'll ask Kurama about the other one. Hopefully he knows how to find them."
"Be careful," Hinata said. "God only knows what he'll do."
Naruto nodded then sat in Lotus Position and a moment later he was in front of Kurama's cage.
"Which is it?" Naruto asked.
"Eight," Kurama said holding his face just out of the light so that it made his eyes seem to glow. "Name's Gyuki. Giant fleshy ox with the lower half of an octopus. Jinchuuriki's called Killer B and likes to rap. Lightning Style chakra. Good luck convincing him."
"Any plan on how to save the others?" Naruto asked.
"Not a clue," Kurama said. "I'm working on it. Focus on the others."
Naruto nodded and returned to real life to find Hinata and Sakura struggling to wake up Sasuke who seemed to have been hit by something.
"What happened?" Naruto asked running over.
"That!" Sakura said pointing toward the center of the storm where the water was boiling not three hundred feet from the edge of the ship.
"You're shitting me," Naruto said drawing his swords and paling. "Hinata, Sakura, get Sasuke below deck. If he wakes up before I come back for you, tell him to come get me."
"How will we know if you die?" Sakura asked.
Naruto closed his eyes to think for a moment then pulled out one of his chakra blades and handed it to Hinata.
"The ship will hold together but if I die, the blade will crumble," Naruto said.
Hinata nodded then helped Sakura carry Sasuke below deck. Naruto turned back to the area where the water had been boiling but it was as calm as the rest of the water had been, which wasn't saying very much.
"Where did you go?" Naruto asked holding his swords ready.
Just then, something hit the ship and it shook violently. Naruto spun around just as something blue and scaly tentacle of some kind disappeared over the edge of the ship. Naruto walked to the center of the ship but didn't bother to chase the tentacle. Instead, he turned back the way he had come just as the water there exploded skyward.
Naruto stood perfectly still, not flinching even as razor sharp scales bounced off the deck of his ship around him, shed by whatever he was about to have to fight. When the waves of water had fallen back to the sea, Naruto smirked. Before him, only partially visible above the water, was a massive eel-like creature with one massive mouth taking up almost all of its head with teeth about the size of Naruto's arm and easily three hundred per each of its thirteen rows. When it roared, a second mouth was visible inside. That mouth had even smaller teeth but easily five times as many as its rows of teeth extended all the way down the gaping maw of its mouth. It could easily swallow the ship hole. Naruto looked at his swords ginning at how useless they would be.
"So you want lunch huh?" Naruto asked. "Eat up."
He created hundreds of shadow clones all of which helped each other form a Rasengan then jumped down the creature's throat blasting the inside at random points. Eventually, the creature roared and the clones were all destroyed by something then three large balls of flesh and bone shot out and landed around him in a triangle then unfolded into three ball creatures with bony legs with a thin layer of pale grey skin stretched over them and clawed feet. They had no faces but had a massive mouth taking up most of their front.
"Creepy," Naruto said grinning. "And killable."
All three leapt at him and he spun shredding them then turned toward the massive eel again.
"So, how to deal with an overgrown zombie fish that wants to eat my ship like a snack," Naruto said.
It roared and he grinned as he entered Sage Mode. Then he leapt at the eel and formed a massive Rasengan then smashed it into the creature's face just above its mouth. The eel flew backward coming up from the water all the way but even as it crashed back down five hundred feet or more away, the end of its body still hadn't surfaced. Naruto couldn't even tell how long the thing was but it didn't matter. He had to stop it quickly.
"Naruto!" Sasuke said running over, Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan already active and chokuto drawn. "What is it?"
"Don't know," Naruto said. "Burn it."
"Amaterasu!" Sasuke said sending a sphere of pitch black fire at the eel and hitting it somewhere near the middle of what was visible.
The eel released a high squeal of agony as the fire began to spread covering most of its body. It exploded up from the water again thrashing around, writhing in agony. Just then, the moon began to rise on the horizon and the eel swung around toward it. Then, its entire body began to glow and the black flames all instantly went out. Naruto grinned and shook his head as the eel began to compact into a sphere about the size of the miniature versions it had spit at Naruto. Then, the sphere exploded and a massive spider covered in armored plates dropped to the deck of the ship. It rose up on two legs staring down at Naruto and Sasuke with its eight, glowing red eyes. Sasuke looked at Naruto and channeled his Lightning chakra into his chokuto while Naruto did the same with his Wind Style.
"This is going to be entertaining," Naruto said.
"Shall we?" Sasuke asked.
"Let's," Naruto said.
They sprinted forward and leapt onto the spider slashing at it but it flipped over knocking them off of its back and dropping them to the deck of the ship. Naruto pushed himself up and looked around. His swords had both slid off of the ship. He sprinted forward and grew spikes out of his arms then began spinning and swinging his arms at the spider. It tried to dodge but her managed to smash its leg off. It screamed and shrunk considerably. Then, it moved almost too fast for him to keep up. He swung at it and spun around it swinging at it again but it kept pace perfectly almost seeming to be having a martial arts battle with him. Then, it stood on four legs, still as tall as him and the plates on its four free legs stood out matching the spikes on his arms. As if that wasn't enough, it suddenly became blurry and three copies of itself separated from it sliding across the deck like they were in a video game. Naruto created three clones and all of them charged at one spider. Sasuke, who had been temporarily knocked out by the spider, stood and stared in shock at the squad of infected creatures having an all out martial arts battle with Naruto and three of his clones.
Two Narutos were destroyed at the same time as they destroyed their spiders, one was just destroyed, and the last launched all of the spikes out of his arms through the spider he was fighting. It disappeared and the last leapt at him but Sasuke stepped in the way and bisected it before spinning and quartering it allowing the pieces to fly over the edge. Naruto stood nodding at Sasuke as the girls both ran out of the ship and stopped looking around. Naruto grinned at Hinata then walked to the edge and looked down.
Just as he did, a single spider leapt out of the water wrapping its spiked arms around him. He looked shocked and stumbled back. then, he disappeared and the spider dropped to the deck and spun toward the others then back the other way searching for the real Naruto. He stepped around the main mast and smirked as the spider spun toward him.
"You probably didn't hear me," Naruto said. "But I told Sasuke, this entire ship is under my control. Here, you can't win. Observe."
The spider sprinted at him and leapt into the air but before he reached Naruto, spikes shot up from the deck of the ship impaling the spider which twitched for a moment before melting away into goo.
"Why didn't you do that to start with?" Sasuke asked just before Naruto collapsed wiping sweat off of his forehead.
"Are you kidding?" Naruto asked. "I'm still tired from making this ship. Doing that one change alone would be enough to put any of you three under for hours. On top of that, I used a massive amount of energy keeping him from eating the ship when it was still a massive eel."
"You should rest," Hinata said. "We'll be there soon. Go rest and we'll keep sailing. Besides, we'll need our leader at full power if we meet any Akatsuki."
Naruto nodded and went below deck to sleep. Sasuke returned to the helm with Sakura and Hinata leaned against the railing on the side of the ship.
