Ok so I know it's been forever since I updated this story and I'm so sorry to all who have read and reviewed it I will try to start and updating it again regularly. For all those who have waited here is the chapter about Sango and Miroku prepare to cry and not hating.

Coming back down the stairs Kagome couldn't keep the dreamy smile off her face. Yes it was a childish act on both accounts but she couldn't help but find the humor in it as well. Stepping in to the dining room she leaned against the door frame she caught Yasha and Shiori in a small intimate moment and her smile grew.

Inuyasha noticing the return of his friend quickly pulled away from his mate a small blush on his cheeks. He wasn't embarrassed of his mate or even of the act it was simply Kagome seeing him in such a light. He was under no illusion Kagome was never really purvey to this side of him. He admitted he was too immature at the time of the jewel shards for her to see this side of him. He had no regrets about the way his life turned out but a part of him still wished he could have made Kagome happy the way she wanted him to.

Kagome straightened up from the door when Inuyasha looked at her "Oh by all means don't mind me" she said with a soft smile.

Shiori smiled at Kagome and pecked Inuyasha on the cheek, "I'll be back soon I need to run to the store for a few things" she said and she stood up from her still embarrassed mate.

Walking to the door she stopped and hugged Kagome "Don't tease him too much" she said with a small light laugh.

Kagome smiled at the half bat "Now where would the fun be in that" she jested back.

Shiori walked off shaking her head at the antics of the miko and her mate while before she would have been slightly worried about leaving the two alone now she had no such reservations. They deserved the time alone to catch up and while she didn't know Sango or Miroku well she was sure talking about the pair would be painful for both of them, and knowing both the way she did she didn't figure they wanted anyone seeing them in a moment of weakness that the memory of the slayer and monk would surely bring.

Kagome continued to stand at the door smiling at her best friend "Still not one to show affection I see" she said the smile dropping slightly.

Inuyasha huffed as he stood from his chair "It's not like that Kags" he said rubbing the back of his neck.

Kagome put her hand up in a stopping gesture to stop him from explaining "Maybe another time right now I want to hear about Sango and Miroku" she stated with a slight forlorn tone.

Inuyasha nodded and walked over turning her slightly he placed his hand on her lower back and pushed her forwards "Let's go outside its pretty nice out this morning" he said never letting his hand leave her back. Kagome nodded and allowed him to lead her down halls and out the doors to the same garden she was in last night.

Inuyasha tried his best to organize his thoughts and he led Kagome through his home. There was a lot to tell her about their friends some he was sure would fill her with joy others he was sure would make her sad. However there was a part of the tale he was sure she would hate and even hate him for, he felt the tightness in his chest reminding him that he too still hated himself for it.

Pushing her to the shade of a large tree he motioned for her to sit and then sat down next to her keeping his arm behind her in comfort, weather it was for hers or his he wasn't sure at this point. Looking up as the gentle breeze shifted the leaves on the tree he let a sigh pass his lips. He could feel her staring at him waiting for him to begin, looking over at her she smiled lightly "Well I'm sure you know by now that the two got married" he said watching her nod.

Looking back up Inuyasha allowed his mind to drift back to a time that was filled with many trying emotions for him a time that try as he might he couldn't forget "They were happy Kags, they had their first child with in a year of marriage a boy."

Kagome smiled as she allowed her mind to drift back to the happy memories she had shared with her two human companions in the shard hut. She knew they would be together in the end she prayed for their happiness months after being locked out of the past. Watching Inuyasha's face as he began the tale she noticed the way his face changed at the mention of their first child. "He must have been just like his father" she stated with a slight laugh.

Inuyasha shot his eyes back to his best friend her uncanny ability to read him still astonished him. He nodded slightly "Just like him" he said with a laugh as well. Shaking his head he continued "About 2 years later they were granted twins, of course the whole pregnancy had scared both of them as well as many of the villagers, you know twins being a curse and all to them" he said slightly bitter at the way people use to think.

He heard Kagome gasp next to him and he tightened his hold around her slightly "Don't worry Kags Sango never allowed their hateful words to bother her" he smiled down to her. Kagome nodded and once more waited for Yasha to finish. Inuyasha stared off in front of him "They moved back and rebuilt the slayer village, did a damn good job to. They never had any more kids after the three rugrats but it never seemed to bother either of them." He took a deep breath "They lived happy lives till tragedy stuck" he said in a low tone.

Kagome shifted slightly in his grip and turned to him pulling his hand from behind her and in to hers giving it a reassuring squeeze. When his eyes met hers she felt her stomach sink slightly, whatever happened she knew it was going to be heartbreaking.

Inuyasha shut his eyes tight against the onslaught of emotion he felt still about what had happened to his friends. He took a shaky breath but pressed on "The news of the slayers village being rebuilt spread like wild fire in demon communities it created a panic a rage in lower youki." He dropped his head shielding his face with his bangs "They told me about it and I went out seeking information we thought we had plenty of time to prepare that the stupid youki wouldn't act without proper planning." He raised his head to look at Kagome and felt the burn of the first tear trek down his cheek "We were wrong" he whispered out.

Kagome's breath caught at the tortured look in Inuyasha's eyes it was all there to see plain as day the pain the furry the guilt. She felt as her eyes started to water looked through the blurriness eyes pleading to Yasha that her worse fears not be heard.

Inuyasha's heart hurt at the look in Kagome's eyes, he knew she was smart knew she put some of the pieces together but it would be much worse than she thought. Morse as he was to tell her he knew she had a right to know. Hugging her to him he continued "They attacked the village, most lost to their blood lust they were stronger than the slayers had expected." He drew another shaky breath "I wasn't there Kags I didn't protect them like I was supposed to" he let slip past his lips and he felt more tears fall from his eyes. "Sango….She fought so hard to keep them safe she gave her all for the village for her family, you would have been so proud of her Kags" he said hugging her tighter as he not only heard her sob but felt the wetness of her tears bleed in to his shirt.

Rubbing soothing circles on Kagome's back he once more pressed on "Their son was the first to fall though not as powerful as Miroku was he still stood strong and proud against the many waves that came over the wall, Sango soon fell after the loss of her first child to distraught at the loss to focus fully on what was going on around her." Yasha once more felt Kagome break in to sobs at the mention of her sister like figure.

Kagome couldn't believe it she couldn't Sango was supposed to live a long happy life surrounded by her children and loved by Miroku. Pulling back from Inuyasha she looked eyes begging "Did any of them live" she said in a whine.

Inuyasha nodded kissing her lightly on the forehead her whine of pain and sadness pulled at old instincts he had for her the need to protect to shelter her it was as heartbreaking as the story he told. "Yes" he breathed against her skin. "Miroku and his two daughters lived though Miroku was not even half the man you remember after the loss of his wife and son" he said kissing her forehead once more. Kagome pushed closer to him nodding against his shoulder her mind too distraught to let any words pass her lips.

Inuyasha rocked her gently continuing "Their eldest daughter stayed rebuilt the slayer village and vowed revenge for her lost mother and brother, the village was stronger than it had ever been under her leadership for many years it flourished sadly the desire for revenge poison the young miko's mind and she like many others in the village believed all demons were bad. I only visited once after the attack and when she attacked me herself I never came back but I kept an eye on the village in memory of Sango" he said softly his eyes lost in the distant past.

Kagome sat back and put a hand to Inuyasha's cheek she could only imagine what it was like to be attacked by the child he himself watched grow watch as her mind twisted and she lost herself in grief of loss. Brushing the tear that slipped past his guard from his cheek she nodded to encourage him to continue.

"Miroku left to find solace in the mountain temples for monks I never saw him after the day he left edo" he said with a sad longing tone. The monk was the closest thing he had as a brother and while he was never blood the bond was strong on both sides. Inuyasha let a small smile grace his lips perhaps the news of the last daughter would lighten the blow of the past for Kagome slightly. "Their youngest daughter Kagome stayed in edo and learned under Kaede" his smile widened slightly at the look of shock on Kagome's face. "They insisted on naming her after you in memory and love it was their way of honoring you" he said brushing her bangs form her face.

Kagome allowed a small smile on her face she thought for sure her friends would forget her but now knowing they had named a daughter after her she felt her heart swell with love for the both of them. Inuyasha once more pulled Kagome to him "She stayed in the village and trained her miko powers till a young lord came calling in the village for help for his traveling party, the lord was smitten with her at first sight but her caring and loving nature only ensnared him deeper. Last I knew she had left to the southern land and married said lord I lost track of her shortly after the move after all the west was never really welcome in the south" he stated with a huff.

Kagome snuggled in to the warmth of Inuyasha's arms "Thank you Yasha I know this couldn't have been easy for you to tell me but I needed to hear it and this time we can take comfort in each other at the loss of our loved ones" she said placing a light kiss under his jaw.

Before Inuyasha had a chance to respond to Kagome as well as her action, which he was sure she had no idea what she had just done the oppressive aura of Sesshomaru was beating down on them both. Looking up there in the door to Inuyasha's home stood Sesshomaru and if the look on his face and slight reddening of his eyes was not a dead giveaway the show of his fangs as he snarled was. He was pissed and Yasha knew the reason for his anger but he was also ready to defend his friendship with Kagome against the Dai should Sesshomaru press the issue.
