"Fringey…"

Summary: Sarah and her sisters see there's an even darker side to Dyad's little cloning-fest…

(Not sure about this one but while I await more details for "Nessun Dorma" I'll play round with this darker one and see how it goes. Afraid you'll have to consider this the Allison-Donnie-friendly corner of the OB multiverse. After all, she can't be veering toward insanity and he can't be a rat in every universe…)

Part XXXIII…

"You wanna draw posters?" Donnie blinked as he and Rachel/Olive/"Allison" walked along a path, she glancing at him with veiled look…

May as well go for broke here…Though I'm still not sure as to whether it makes any sense to continue Aldous' little demo with everything collapsing under our feet, I can't be sure I can risk trying to unplug from Olive here and make my own future while he's around and about.

"Not just posters for fun, Donnie." Solemn look. "All that happened, with the other girls, and these evil Dyad people…I want to make a statement…"

He blinked…

She what?...

Ok, probably wants to draw me out, see how much I know about the others, particularly Sarah's little girl. Do what you do best, Hendrix. Play dumb…Sgt.. Schutz's "I know nothing…" your motto…

"A what? Ally, I thought the idea was to keep a low profile…You did sign a release with Dyad."

She halted, hard stare, touching his arm…"They can't be trusted, honey. I should've known that. Look at poor Sarah and her daughter…"

He pondered in turn…

What to risk giving up…Well…

"You said Sarah's daughter was safe…Hidden…"

"Oh, yes…" solemn look… "But they tried to take her…They'll try again. Donnie, Oscar and Gemma are in danger. Maybe you are too. We have to fight these people. I was wrong to think we could just hide and hope it would go away."

"With posters…?"

"Protest, Donnie. It's the only thing they'll bow to."

"But…" he gave puzzled stare… "What protest? You mean you want to publicize the clones? Get all the girls marching with posters 'They made me a clone'?"

"Something like that…But we'd start with ourselves and see if the girls come on board. Though I'm thinking of something more 'proactive' than just…" she paused…

What is that? She blinked…

Voices…Whispering…

"Allison?" he regarded her a moment as she seemed lost in thought…

No Aldous rather creepily manhandling my unconscious form…She refocused on Olive…

"Donnie? Did you hear anyone? Was someone coming by?"

"No one…Why?" he looked round. "Did you expect someone?"

Say Aldous Leekie, or a horde of Dyad thugs, perchance?

"No…I just thought I…" she paused. "No, it's gone now. Maybe just people passing us in the woods or some kind of echo?"

"I didn't hear anything…" he shrugged.

"Well, not important…" she took his hand. "Anyway, like I was saying…I feel like fighting back a little. I may not be a Sarah but…"

Ok…She clearly wants to get me to spill something…He thought, eyeing her…Pasting clueless look.

At least my years with Leekie telling me how to avoid giving things away to Ally are paying off…Though it's the last time and strictly for you, Ally.

"Is something wrong?" she eyed him… "You seem preoccupied, Hendrix…" shy smile. "I thought this was supposed to include romance…"

"Oh…Sure…I'm just thinking about what you said. Thanks…" he gave smile. "It's nice of you to share this…"

"Of course…Donnie…" concerned look… "You know I want you to be a part of this now that you know…"

"Well, not everything…You still haven't told me everything…" he noted, slight sad note.

Lets try a little pumpin' on my side, eh?

Hmmn…Lovely…Rachel eyed him…

Hasn't told him all…What could that be…? Surely, as soon as she welcomed him back into my arms, I'd've told him everything I knew.

I mean she…

"I think I've told you almost everything…Everything I know…" She tried. "What do you think I haven't told you?"

"I can understand you still don't fully trust me, Ally. I let you down badly." He sighed.

"Of course I trust you…" she insisted. "And I'm askin' you to help me in this." She put arm round him.

What's wrong…? She stared as he instinctively flinched…

Donnie? "Donnie?" she spoke aloud. "What's the matter?"

Uh…He stared, a bit startled by the obvious sincerity.

Either she's very good or getting a little caught up in her role…

But being Dyad's best, no doubt…I'd put my money on talent…

"I…Uh…I'm just so ashamed, Ally. That they had my help in this, tormenting you."

"You only wanted to help me, Donnie. I understand that now. Really…" she leaned to kiss his cheek.

I could do this…Rachel thought…It feels so…

Home…

Why shouldn't I have my chance to be happy? I…Of all my sisters, left alone…Abandoned to the Leekies…More alone than even poor Helena…

I can be Allison…A better Allison than that neurotic… I can protect my kids and Donnie better than…I mean her kids…

"It's all good, huh?" he sighed.

"With you, yes…" she hugged him. "It will be all right, it will, Donnie…"

I am Allison, really…We're all the same, fundamentally…

I can't do this much more…He thought. If she keeps this up…God help me…

I can take anything but her trying so hard to be Ally…Like the devil in some horror movie possessing and desecrating some poor victim's body.

"About this protest thing?" he hastily asked, blocking her further moves on intimacy…

"Yeah? Well, just a way to spread the word, you know…" she embraced him. "Maybe we could get into that later…Maybe for now…" she pulled back, eyeing him.

Is she making fun of me?...He thought…

"Huh?..." demure look… "What say we go back and…You know…" grin…

What? He eyed her…

Like a big cuddly teddy bear…The ones Aldous would never buy for me from the shop windows, I didn't such things, child of Neolution that I was…Oh…She hugged again.

I want to go home…I want to have a home…

I want…This…

"Rachel?" a voice in her head.

Damn!

"Ally?" Donnie stared as she realized she'd glared at him.

"It's nothing, Donnie…I suddenly had a headache…Nothing serious. Would you mind if I went to use the restroom a mo…Just a moment?" winsome smile.

"Sure…" he nodded. "It's over there…" point…

Please…Do…

"Aldous…" in the car Rachel spoke, otherwise unmoving… "What is it?"

Sarah, in the lab at LA, headset attached, Leonard and Howard watching instrument readouts carefully, the rest eyeing her. "I hear Leekie!" she said, suddenly… "He's…Speaking to her, I think…" she concentrated.

"What are they saying?" Cosima asked…

"Rachel…It's Rachel…" Sarah eyed her. "It's Rachel with Donnie…" tense look.

Uh-boy…Cosima sighed. Glance to Delphine…

"Rachel?" Sheldon asked Amy, who sighed. "Sheldon, read the report. Even Penny did though she wasn't…"

She caught Broyles' intense stare upon her…

Uh…Heh, heh…Hi…Sir.

"Rachel…Are you all right?" Leekie asked, watching. "I'm getting an elevated heart rate. Has Hendrix caught on to you?"

"It's fine, Leekie…Aldous…" her lips moved slowly as if grimly clenched. "Alls proceeding according to plan, don't worry. Leave it to me…"

"Are you getting ready…?" he began.

"No time…I'll speak to you later. It's all good. Just leave it to me."

He eyed the still form…

Hmmn…

Still, not a good option to disengage her from here without her participation under any circumstances…And especially with Hendrix presumably right there.

"She's sent him off…Leekie…There's something going on here, I think she's actually just lied t him…Uh…" Sarah paused.

"Why would Rachel be lying to Leekie?" Cosima whispered to Delphine. "I thought she was…You know…"

"…More than a daughter to him?" she put it gingerly.

"I don't know but I can't be surprised Rachel would lie to Aldous." Delphine noted. "He inspires that. And she was raised by him."

Jesus freakin' Judas Priest Christ…Sarah, blinking.

Well, thank God it's not comin' from me…

"What's the matter?" Cosima stared…

Uh…How to put this?

Best not…

No, not a good idea to tell anyone that our other demonic sister is having a raging Donnie fantasy…
