Chapter 7: Deep down, primrose path
The next day was coming fast, none of the girls felt well rested, so didn't the boys.
The sun rose about six o'clock in the morning not letting them sleep.
They stood up and everybody began to pack up.
" Girls, are you ok?" Helia asked looking at Flora and Bloom.
"Yes I am feeling better now. I think I can make it." Flora said smiling.
" Yes me to, I am ok...ugggh...damn!" Bloom started to answer and stood up when her leg was giving in underneath her and she had to get down on her knees.
"Bloom!" Sky came running towards the red haired fairy.
"Maybe I am not as recovered as I thought...gnnh" she said looking down at her ankle.
Over night the ankle became black and blue and grazes were covering the whole ankle and her foot.
" Damn, Flora I need you help, please!" Sky said after taking a look at Blooms ankle.
" Don't worry Bloom we will handle that." he said trying to convince her.
Bloom nodded but wasn't believing that anyone could heal this fast enough so they could continue searching for today.
"Flora, please take a look at this. Do you know anything that would help? Maybe a soothing ointment or something?" He asked pointing at Blooms ankle.
" I know a lot about healing plants and magical remedies, but I have to search the forest for some of the plants we could use." Flora said checking Blooms ankle.
"How long?" Sky asked looking down at her.
" If I can find some plants, I can prepare the ointment really fast, but it will take about two days until she can walk without help." Flora respondent compunctiously.
"That is too long! We can't wait. You have to go and find the guy. I will stay here so we have a main camp you could return to." Bloom said looking at Sky gazing.
"No! Bloom no. I won't let you stay here alone. I will carry you. That's no problem."
Sky said arms akimbo.
The two where starring at each other for about five minutes.
" Fine, knock yourself out! If something happens, it is not my fault. I will stay where we were when something went wrong!" Bloom said with cynism and anger, arms crossed.
"Alright, that's up to you." Sky said, glad that he had convinced her for the moment.
After fifteen minutes Flora had found all the plants and flowers she needed to prepare the ointment. She prepared everything and after she had slathered Blooms ankle they continued their search.
They had wandered the hole day and searched already two of the possible places being the hideout of the mysterious person. They hadn't found anything helpful, just a lot of oversized spiders and some rats equal in size like a dog.
They were just talking about setting up the camp when they arrived at a huge lake with an island at it's middle.
"Hey, that's cool. Let's go for a swim." Layla said, walking up to the waterside of the lake. When she was standing at the very end of it she stopped in her movements.
She was starring into the water not saying or doing anything.
"Layla? What is the matter?" Nabu walked up to her after he realized something being different. He stopped at her level and his jaw dropped open.
"Guys, you have to see this."
Everyone walked up to the two of them and looked down into the water.
The ground of the lake was fire red because of magma streaming down there. But what was odd was the fact that the water wasn't boiling. The water surface was smooth. Through this smooth surface a huge castle was visible. It was attached upside down at the island and a dark red aura was floating around it.
"You think this is what we searched ?" Stella asked, looking down the water.
" Absolutely!" Tecna nodded.
"Ok, then I have got a question. How do we enter this castle? Diving? I really don't want my hair to get wet." Stella said and turned around to face the others.
"That is a good question, a bad reason but a good question. Boys? Any suggestions?" Musa asked , looking at the Specialists.
The guys shrugged.
" I would have tried diving." Helia said and some of the others nodded.
" No problem, I am the fairy of water, forget? I will create a huge bubble around us so we stay dry and are able to breathe." Layla said and transformed.
"Right I forgot." Stella said happy that her hair would not get wet.
All of them stood together tightly while Layla began to form a huge bubble covering them all. After she finished all of them began to push the bubble towards the water from the inside. When they finally reached the water, Layla used her powers to let the bubble submerge.
"Wow, that's incredible. This view is stunning, but also frightening." Bloom said tightening her grip around Skys shoulders.
It took them ten minutes to arrive at the castle. When they reached the main gate they weren't sure what to do.
" We arrived. But how do we get in there? Everywhere is water and we couldn't open the gate if we are in here." Brandon said looking around to find a hint.
" Sorry to correct you, but everywhere around us at this moment is air." Tecna answered and looked back at her computer.
"Yes, she is right. After we had passed this kind of aura thing there wasn't water anymore. It is air." Timmy said taking a look at Tecnas computer.
"So I can release the spell without problems?" Layla asked and the two genii nodded.
Layla did so and after everyone was safe, transformed back.
"Well, that was easy, wasn't it?" Riven asked smirking. He walked up to the door and tried to open it, but it was locked.
"Damn, what the hell is that?" Riven cursed and kicked at the door.
After he had done that a huge eye appeared at the door. Riven backed away from the door and fell on the floor.
A growl was going through the hole castle when suddenly a huge stone hand tried to squash them.
" Watch out!" some one shouted and all of them ducked.
"We've got a problem I think!" Stella shouted.
"Oh really? You think so?" Musa responded after ducking away from another attack.
Fight! Blood! Strength! I will lend you my power. The power to survive, the power to cause pain, the power...to..KILL!
"This way!" Timmy shouted and ran around a corner, followed by the Specialists.
But the girls didn't move. All of them were motionless, even Bloom who was still on Skys back.
Sky get down on his knees and let Bloom slip down. He looked at her and began shaking her a bit.
"Bloom, wake up. Bloom!" but she didn't react.
"Look all the other girls are still outside there. They didn't move." Helia said shocked.
All of them looked around the corner in horror.
Their girlfriends were all standing in front of the huge door with the eye, when another stone hand came down to crush them.
Fight!
