Chapter 2 we say hello to the wolf prince
The next morning I awoke before the sun rose across the skies I looked down at the girl my sister sleeping on a bed in the corner of the room she shivers and I get up and pad softly across the room and pull the blankets back around her and she mumbles turning over and I smile pushing my way out of the room and going outside of the small hut to watch the sun rise over the horizon. Sango comes around from the back side of the small hut and says starting me
"I see you're awake." I look at her
"Yah I'm not used to sleeping in but Kagmoe she needs her sleep if we're going to get back her memory" she nods setting the bucket down and watches the sunrise with me in a companionable silence then she says softly
"I just worry about Kouga finding out she's here if he finds out he won't stop until he gets her." I look at her my ears pricked and alert
"Who?"
"Kouga the wolf demon prince of the north has been pining after her and hasn't stopped looking for her he wants to marry her, her father King Higurashi wants to arrange a marriage but her mother Ai wants her to marry for love" I nod and say flicking my tails
"So then we must watch out for Kouga, but are there any other friends of her she can talk to maybe they can help us get her memory back" she nods
"Actually there is when we were younger there was me, Kagmoe, Miroku, and Inuyasha we'd all hang out together and do stuff" I nod and ask curiously
"So are Mirōku and Inuyasha like you or are they different?" She smiles
"No Mirōku is a monk, a perverted monk, and Inuyasha is a half demon prince" I look at her eyes wide
"A half demon prince?" she nods again
"Yes Inuyasha is a the half demon prince of the west son of Lord Inu no Taisho and Lady Izayoi" I nod
"I've heard of them don't they rule the western lands here?" she nods
"Yes"
"Humm I think I remember Kagmoe saying the Inuyasha once but when I asked her she said she didn't know why she just remembers it" Sango puts a hand under her chin in thought
"Well I'm not surprised, after all out of the four of us she and Inuyasha were the closest after all" I nod then ask "If her and Inuyasha were so close then wouldn't he be looking for her too?" she nods a sad smile crossing her face
"Yes, he has been and still is Mirōku is his best friend and we talk a lot he hasn't been the same since she went missing that terrible night she was still very young but then again she is a half demon so they age differently than we humans do" I nod
"I've noticed that, but she seemed happy and my mother loves her so yah…" she nods then her eyes go wide and she hits herself in the forehead
"Of course how could I forget!" I tilt my head confused and she explains "Tomorrow is the annual festival, every year before fall the four kingdoms North, South, East, and West get together and celebrate the mid-summer festival, Me Inuyasha and Mirōku always meet up during the festival maybe that way she can get her memories back!" Sango Smiles excitedly clapping her hands happily and I smile then say
"Ok but is it alright if I go I mean it's not that I don't trust you it's just that I want to make sure she stays safe" Sango nods picking up her water bucket again
"Of course it is everybody is welcome at the festival, this year it's being held by the western kingdom Inuyahsa's family" I nod then ask
"Wont she has to wear a kimono?" she nods then asks
"Yah why?" I sigh
"She's only got the one San made her some clothes, that's our older sister, but it's not exactly festival worthy" Sango nods and says
"I have some she can borrow, but we'll ask her if she wants to go first now let's take a look at those wounds of yours and see if they've healed probley" I nod and stretch winching realizing with dry humor that I had been sitting in one spot for too long and slowly get to my paws and follow Sango inside. Kagmoe stirred just after Sango started making breakfast and came in holding a purring cream and black colored two tailed cat.
"Good morning sissy, good morning Sango, I found this one curled up on my chest purring she's so adorable" Sango smiles while I chew on a raw deer leg and watch with curiosity
"I see you've finally met my demon companion Kilala" Kagmoe nods and walks over petting the cat in her arms who purrs at her then jumps out of Kagmoe's lap and wanders over to me and we touch noses and Kagmoe and Sango laugh while eating their breakfast. They day goes on and we help Sango which Kagmoe has taken to calling her Sang for short around the house when she's called out about a demon attack and Kagmoe asks to go with Sango agrees only after learning about Kagmoe's powers. I stand waiting patiently outside as the girls dress for combat. Sango in a tight black leather suit with pink armor shoulder and knee pads, and Kagmoe in a sleeveless dark blue Haori top with a silver fitting chest plate with matching shoulder and arm guards her bottoms were black really tight shorts and a slotted short skirt and her soft black leather boots with her sword on her hip and her bow and arrows. I smile and stand up looking at them both their hair tied up in high pony tails.
"Ready to go you two?" They smile and Sango says fixing her mask in place
"Yah, let's get going it will be a long walk" I smile and crouch down before the two girls and Kagmoe jumps on offering a hand to Sango who also jumps on Kilala on her shoulder I stand up
"Just point in the right direction and hang on" Sango nods and points to the north
"There's a village that way about two days walk the dispatch said it was under attack by demons I'm not sure it didn't say much" I nod and head north at an easy mile eating lope. We stop around mid-day to have a rest and eat lunch then continue it wasn't till a couple of miles away that I could smell the blood I stop and start growling and tense up my eyes narrowing to slits. Sango leans forward and says
"What is it, what do you smell?" I growl continuing forward at a slower pace
"Blood and lots of it also wolves, but these are unfamiliar to me" Sango sighs and I look back at her stopping
"its probley Kouga's pack, they've been out of control lately, let's go in but be careful" I nod and head in carefully and look around at all the blood and destruction I stop when we reach the middle of town and start growling loudly looking straight ahead and Kagmoe and Sango dismount off my back and Sango walks forward with a sigh
"Kouga!" she calls looking at a tall male with light brown hair up in a high pony tail when he turns around at the sound of his name I got a better look at him. He's around 6"2 with light brown hair and bright blue eyes he's skinny but muscular is wearing fur armor a light brown wolf tail swaying behind him he snorts
"Sango what are you doing here?" Sango sighs
"I got a dispatch that a village was being attacked by demons and was to take care of it Kouga if you don't get your pack under control I will" he laughs and I growl louder getting his attention for a second when his blue gaze lands on Kagmoe. He takes a step forward and says
"It can't be can it?, Kagmoe is that you?" Kagmoe looks at him confused
"Who are you and how do you know my name?" he looks at Sango
"What's wrong with her why can't she remember me?!" Sango sighs
"Kouga she doesn't remember any of us at all she was kidnapped and taken to the land far west of our boarders" Kouga stares at Sango with a mixture of pain and rage and tries to approach Kagmoe
"Kagmoe, it's me Kouga remember the greatest love of your life?" Kagmoe frowns and I snarl getting in front of her
"I think that's far enough thank you, don't you dare come any closer to my sister!" he looks at me again taking in my size and the fact that I talked and the two tails
"You're not from our region are you, well listen here you insolent pup I'm am Kouga Prince of the northern lands here and also prince of the wolf pack so you have to listen to me so move out of my way!" I laugh showing all my sharp teeth
"That you may be but I listen to no one except for Kagmoe how dare you order a god around like that!" Kagmoe scratches my head calming me down murmuring
"Azure its ok, don't waste your time on his pig headed ness" I snort and Kagmoe giggles at Kouga's wounded look and Sango smiles then turns serious again
"Kouga I'm serious stop this nonsense now or I'll has to report you to the elders" he growls at her but as his pack form up and they disappear into the northern forest and I make a face
"He doesn't smell very nice" Kagmoe and Sango and the rest of the villagers alive laugh at my comment and we spend the rest of the day helping them clean up and rebuild. After we reached Sango's home that night Kagmoe went straight to sleep excited for the festival tomorrow when Sango had asked if she wanted to go and meet the rest of the gang she had happily agreed. I lay in the main room by the fire with Sango thinking
"So that's Kouga" she nods looking into the fire
"Yes quite a piece of work isn't he?"
"Yes he is but something tells me now that he knows that Kagmoe is alive and back in reachable grasp that he will stop at nothing to get his hands on her" She nods
"Your right, but once we get her near Inuyasha everything will be fine" I look at her tilting my head and she explains "Inuyasha and Kouga are rivals once everyone knows Kagmoe is back and she has all her memories back Kouga will probley try to take her but Inuyasha being her best friend won't let him, he's fiercely protective of her." I nod and lay my head back down on my front paws and close my eyes as Sango heads off to bed herself. I lie there staring at the dyeing fire drifting off thinking about what tomorrow and the festival will bring I fall asleep wondering what the others will be like and if Kagmoe will ever remember her past.
