Things started heating up with the government investigation and he didn't have a lot of time with Dr. Santino. He really wasn't happy about that, though, since people were starting to take notice of her. He'd already caught a Matt lookalike giving her a frank and unmistakable look of admiration. He didn't think she knew the guy, but she was clearly a little flattered by the attention. And here I am keeping my distance.
They were working together to help a motivational speaker who had some pretty serious problems, and when he went into her office to provide her with an update, he saw her admiring a large bouquet of flowers - mostly lilacs - on her desk. She didn't even like lilacs. How Matt Lite could have thought she was a lilac person was just a sign of his idiocy.
He just caught the end of her conversation with Paloma: "He's persistent, I'll give him that." He couldn't resist asking, "Who's persistent?" Dani was coy, which he didn't like. Before he could stop himself, he almost grabbed the card out of her hands. What was he doing? Trying to snatch a card away from her like a 12-year-old with a crush. He could have found out this information in a dozen other ways that didn't involve her, but he had to know then and there. Her playful response - Mr. Nunya Biz - made him smile despite himself. But he was not happy. At all. She was so guarded around him, and he couldn't do anything to show her that she could trust him. Things needed to move faster.
