Hi guys! As you can see, it seems to be a trend for me to post a chapter and then disappear off the face of FanFiction. I swear, I don't mean to... Okay that's a lie, but still. It's hard for me to update when I don't know what to write. It wasn't necessarily writer's block, more of knowing what I want to write, but not knowing how to write it. Anyway, sorry about that.

On another note, I am going to start doing a QOTD (that's Question Of The Day for all you un-swag losers out there. Lol) at the ends of my chapters. If you want, you can answer them in the reviews along with anything else you want to say. Thanks a lot.

And lastly, before we get to the actual chapter, I put up a poll on my profile. For some reason, I don't think the poll is working, because it hasn't shown up when I look at my page. So, I will just tell you all what it says right here, and you can answer in the reviews:

How do you think this story should end?

a.) Happy Ending: Sonic finds some way to avoid death and gets to go home and live happily ever after with his friends.

b.) The Not-So-Happy Ending: Sonic, unfortunately, has to keep up his end of the deal, and he returns to the afterlife, leaving behind his friends.

I can not decide which one I want to do, so if you could give me your opinion it would help a lot. Thank you.

With the cannon blown up, jagged shards and metal poles stuck out everywhere in the wreckage. I was admiring our work.

"Knuckles did it work?"

Knuckles picked up his communicator as Tails spoke through it. "Yeah, we did it!"

"Wait, what do you mean 'we'?" Tails asked in confusion.

"Hey Tails," Knuckles continued, seeming to ignore the question, "Didn't you say Sonic was dead?"

I turned towards Knuckles to listen in more closely to the conversation.

"Uh, well, yeah..." Tails replied, sounding a bit grieved, "in the capsule he...he's gone."

Knuckles smirked over at me, as did I to him. "Well in that case, Tails, 'I see dead people!'"

"What?"

I walked over and took the device from Knuckles.

"Hiya, Tails," I said into it. I heard a gasp on the other end.

"S-sonic?"

Then I walked out and found a pole from the wreckage that stuck out outside. I climbed the pole and hung off the top. "Look outside!" I looked up at the ARK and saw the window of the main control room. I saw a figure walk up to it.

"Sonic!" exclaimed the kitsune.

I smiled and gave a thumbs up at him.

"Sonic? He's alive?!" exclaimed a more high pitched voice on the other end. There was a lot of rustling as if someone was trying to take the communicator on Tails' side.

"Ah, Amy, stop! Calm down!" Tails pleaded.

"Sonic! Are you there?!" Amy said.

I scratched the back of my head, "Uh, yeah, Amy, I'm here."

"OhmygoshSonicIthoughtyouweredead!IdontknowwhatIwoulddoifyouwere!Whoelsewouldsavetheworld?!I'msogladyouralright," She said extremely fast, practically shouting into the speaker.

"Whoa, whoa, Amy, calm down."

I heard Knuckles chuckling behind me. I slid down from the pole to the ground.

"Well the cannon is destroyed, how 'bout Knuckles and I meet you guys up there?" I suggested.

"Alright!"

"Cool! C'mon Knux!" I said turning back to Knuckles, handing him the communicator. "Let's do it to it!"

We walked back down the passage we had come from. We could've run, but really, We didn't have to. The cannon was destroyed. And I'm sure if Egghead was causing any trouble up there, Tails had it under control. So what was the rush? I figured I deserved a little moment of relaxation after the kind of day I'd been having.

As we made our way back to Tails and Amy, I started to look around at everything on the colony. You know, that place wasn't half bad. Pretty cool, in my opinion. And I could get used to a view like this, I thought, looking out a window into space.

"Seems like you decided to come back from the dead at just the right time, huh, Sonic?"

I looked at Knuckles, snapping out of my thoughts. "Heh, I guess so," I replied, scratching my head.

"What happened anyway? Why did Tails think you were dead?" Knuckles questioned further.

I sighed and said, "It's a really long story."

"We've got time."

"Well, yeah, but-" I started.

Knuckles must have noticed the sudden silence after I stopped talking. His footsteps were the only thing that was heard. He looked back to where I had been standing, only to see I wasn't there.

"Sonic?" He looked around.

"Yo, Sonic! Where'd he go this time?" he continued calling.

I saw this happen from a large monitor... back in the central control room of transportation to Earth.

I stared at Angie who was messing with a bunch of controls and switches on a panel. I was standing back in the transporter again. She didn't notice me.

I stomped my foot, "Hey, what gives, Angie?!"

She looked up and saw me, surprised. "What are you doing here?" she asked.

"I don't know! You tell me!"

She nodded and looked back up at the monitor, then at her control panel.

"Ok, there was just a mess up in the connection with Earth. This should do the trick! Sorry about that," she flipped a large handled switch and I could feel myself beginning to dematerialize.

There was that flash of light again, I appeared back in the hall with Knuckles.

I hope that doesn't happen again, I thought. (FORESHADOWING... WOO... :3 )

"What the heck?! Where did you go?" The echidna immediately questioned. I looked around, still a bit dizzy from the flash of light.

"So you know that big, long story I was talking about a minute ago?"

"Yeah..." Knuckles answered.

"Let's just say it has to do with that."

Knuckles groaned at my vagueness, "You are impossible."

"Yes, yes I am."

It looked like he was about to say something, no doubt an insult of sorts, when the floor beneath us started to tremble. It was like the whole colony was in the midst of tremors. Though, just as quick as they started, the quakes stopped. Their absence left a silence in its wake as we waited for an aftermath of some kind. When nothing happened afterward, Knuckles was the first to speak. "What was that?"

I didn't say anything and just motioned for him to follow before breaking into a run towards Tails' and Amy's location.

I could hear Knuckles running along behind me. I wondered what those tremors were. I had a feeling it wasn't something good.

"Where's Tails and Amy?"

"We must be in the wrong room," I suggested as we entered a room with a large glass wall that faced Earth.

Once more, tremors overtook the colony, and, though, they didn't last long, they were violent.

"What's that- that vibration?!" Knuckles asked.

But I wasn't really listening to him. I heard the sound of something approaching and went on the alert. It sounded like... wings.

"Hey wait, someone is coming," I said, quieting Knuckles.

Just then, that bat- what was her name again? Ronnie? Rogue? No, wait! Rouge! That's right!- appeared, flying into the room. She looked distressed, her finger pressed to an earpiece on her oversized ears. It looked like something an agent would have.

Even though she didn't look like she was even in the mood for a fight, Knuckles immediately went on the defensive.

"You! You haven't given up yet?!" he concluded hastily.

But, Rouge didn't even seem to be listening to him. Her fingers left her earpiece and dropped to her side. She looked as if it were the end of the world.

"It's all over for us," she said, her voice sounding utterly depressed.

"What do you mean?" Knuckles inquired.

Rouge sighed and explained, "I just received a message from my boss" - Her boss? Did she mean Eggman? I looked at her earpiece. It had some sort of insignia on it. I had seen that insignia somewhere before. I think it was on that truck that chased me earlier. The G.U.N. insignia. Did she work for them? - "This space colony, ARK," she continued, "is approaching the earth at an incredible velocity."

She paused for a second, then went on. "It probably... will impact earth."

She raised her eyes to see our reactions, but instead turned her attention towards something behind us. A look of shock appeared on her face. Knuckles and I looked backwards, in union, to see a screen had appeared on the wall. On it, a man with a long mustache in a lab coat sat. The man hung his head in sorrow and was chained to his chair.

"What's that on the screen?" Knuckles asked.

The man on the screen began to speak, his voice raspy and melancholy. "This is a death sentence," he began, "for every human being on earth." I was taken aback. I was used to death threats and stuff (since Eggman hated my guts), but, I mean, who was this guy? Though, I couldn't help but noticed how much the man looked like Doctor Eggman (you know, if he was older and less... obese). The resemblance was uncanny, really.

The man continued, "If my calculations are correct, the Space Colony ARK will impact the earth in 27 minutes and 53 seconds. All of you will be destroyed, along with your beloved planet earth."

I was speechless for a moment. Those tremors... we were falling into the planet...

I knew no one would be able to survive a hit like that. But I still wondered; just who was this guy? Why did he want to destroy the planet?

"No way," Knuckles muttered.

Eventually, Tails and Amy found us in the room. They were excited to see me alive and well (Amy attempting to put me in a hug of deadly proportions). They both seemed to want to gush about how much they missed me (especially Amy), but I stopped them and pointed at the screen. The both stopped, disappointed, but looked at the screen and listened.

The man on the monitor went on. "I plan to give you a taste of my revenge, once all the seven Chaos Emeralds are collected. Once they initiate this program, it cannot be disabled. All of you ungrateful humans, who took everything away from me, will feel my loss and despair!"

There was a pause. The room was quiet as well as the man. Then, someone off camera spoke. "Is there anything else you want to say?" the off camera person said in an authoritative voice.

"No," the man in the chair answered.

"Ready!" the off-camera-man shouted to what sounded like people behind him. I heard the men that were off camera cock their guns. This was an execution, I realized.

There was a pause, and the screen shut off for a moment. Them, it came back on and the message repeated. "All of you ungrateful humans-" it looped over and over.

"What's going on here? Who is that?" Amy asked with concern.

The ground shook as the colony plummeted towards the planet.

"Hey, the vibrations are getting worse!" Knuckles pointed out.

At the back of the room, the sliding metal door opened. We all turned to look. Eggman walked through the entrance, now out of his mech suit. He had some nerve walking in there. If it weren't for him, none of this would've happened.

He didn't greet us, but went on to say, "Professor Gerald Robotnik, one of the greatest scientific minds in the world, and my grandfather." He gestured to the man on the screen. Eggman's grandfather? At least, that explained the man's motives. Also, his mustache.

Knuckles, once again, jumped in with his conclusion. "What? I knew you were behind all this. Stop it right now, or else-"

Eggman simply cut him off, saying, "I'd have done this a long time ago if I had the chance."

I stepped forward. "What do you mean?" Knuckles looked at me, surprised I wasn't on the alert like he was.

Eggman ignored my question and instead said, "You are pretty persistent for a hedgehog, aren't you! You're still alive, huh?"

"Heh, just letting Knuckles pilot the shuttle on the way over here, was more dangerous than you could ever be!" I retorted, receiving growl from the echidna.

But Eggman had moved on to other matters and walked over to Rouge. He handed her something. "What's this?" she asked.

"This is my grandfather's diary," the doctor answered.

Rouge walked over to the screen and inserted the diary (which looked to be on some sort of memory chip). The scene with Professor Gerald marking his revenge disappeared, and words began to take its place.

Rouge began to carefully read the professor's diary aloud to us. "'I don't quite know what happened or what went wrong. Was it a mistake to create the Ultimate Life Form? I thought it would be something that would benefit mankind. But then the military guards landed in the colony that day.

"'They were sent to destroy the research project that I had been working on. My colleagues at the research facility, my granddaughter, Maria,'" - Maria? Hadn't Shadow mentioned something about someone named Maria? Who was she? And if she was Gerald's granddaughter, doesn't that mean she is Eggman's cousin?- "'I hope you are all safe. The colony was completely shut down, probably to keep the prototype from falling into the wrong hands. The ARK was shut down on the premise that there had been an accident.

"'I found Maria's name among those who died when the ARK was shut down. She meant everything to me, and I couldn't bare the thought that she died because of my research. I lost everything. I had nothing more to live for... I went insane. All I could think about, was to avenge her... somehow, someway. I got scared as I was no longer able to control my thoughts. All I could think about was that I wanted it all to end...'"

Rouge paused as the diary went on to another entry. She continued reading. I couldn't help but feel that we were wasting time.

"'Based on my original projections, I was able to complete my project, Shadow. I designed its mind to be perfect, pure. I will leave everything to him. If you wish, release and awaken it... to the world. If you wish to fill the world with destruction.'"

The entry ended. It was the last one of the diary.

"Oh, so that's why you released Shadow from the base!" Rouge discovered.

Eggman ignored her and said, "The core of the Eclipse Cannon is now highly reactive and explosive."

"Heh, imagine that," I whispered to Knuckles jokingly. He smirked back.

"This is because the energy of the Chaos Emeralds is overpowered. If the colony collides with Earth, it will shatter into pieces like my grandfather predicted," Eggman continued. He then added, "That mad scientist!"

Oh, how proud he sounded.

I rolled my eyes.

"That should be you, right?" Amy said sarcastically. I had to stifle a laugh at that.

"We have to stop the space colony, now!" Tails proclaimed.

"The Space Colony ARK's position may have shifted due to the amount of energy given off by the Emeralds. We have to stop the energy!"

"Right, since the cannon is blown up, the Chaos Energy has no where to go. It's giving off too much of it. But... how do we stop it?" Tails said.

Everyone went quiet for a moment, thinking of an answer to that question. Then, someone spoke and a solution came to be. (And may I add, it was the last person I thought would come up with a solution.)

"That's it!" Rouge began. "There is a way to stop the energy!" She turned to Knuckles, who looked back at her expectantly. "We have to use your Emerald. You're the one that told me the Master Emedald has the power to stop the Chaos Emeralds."

Knuckles pulled out the Master Emerald, now shrunken down to a portable size. He examined it, answering, "That's right. If I use this, I just might be able to stop the Chaos Emeralds."

And thus the fate of the entire world rested upon my old pal Knuckles' shoulders.

That's is. We're screwed.

"There still may be time left. If we pull together, we may be able to get to the shortcut that leads to the core, or at least, what's left of it," Eggman added, confirming the plan.

I smirked, ready for another mission. "No worries! Just leave it to me! I'm the world's fastest hedgehog!"

Oh, saying that just never gets old. Sonic the Hedgehog, the fastest (and sexiest) thing alive. Yep, never gets old.

"Okay, let's get to work!" Eggman concluded.

Wow, teaming up with Eggman. That certainly is new.

Yeah, this chapter didn't have much deviation from the actual SA2 story line. Sorry, if you found that boring. I tried to add a little commentary from Sonic on a few parts just to change it up. But, yeah.

(I realize, after rereading them, that the first four chapters of this story aren't very well written. I wrote those when I was new to FanFiction and new to being a writer. I still am a little new to these things, but I am also very used to them now. I personally thought the first four chapters were a little terrible. It was a little confusing to understand. But if you have any questions about what was going on in those, feel free to ask. So, yeah, sorry.)

Have any of you played Shadow the Hedgehog? If so, what are your opinions and feelings about it? Tell me in the reviews!

My answer: I have been playing it recently with mixed feelings. I think the control on Shadow is too slippery. It's like it is trying to be a fast game, but there are too many things in your way. I also think the story is all over the place. And OMG SHADOW SHOULDN'T HAVE A FRICKIN GUN. WHO WAS THE GENIUS THAT THOUGHT "HM WE STARTED WITH SIDE-SCROLLING, COLORFUL HAPPINESS NOW LETS GIVE THEM GUNS" WTF. But I do find that I enjoy playing the game and I always laugh in entertainment whenever anyone says something that is well above an E-10 rating. So, yeah, mixed feelings.
