Chapter 7: Reactions and Revenge
Xander's Pov
"What?! You can't be serious Buffy!" I heard Anya scream at Buffy. I could tell that she wasn't too happy to find out her boyfriend is in love with Buffy's "ex" boyfriend. And looking at the others faces I could tell that they hadn't taken the news very well either.
"Xander tell her that this isn't true! Tell her that you love me, not that evil bloodsucker!" Anya basically screamed in my face while glaring at Angel. Everyone looked at me expectingly except for Buffy who was going from glaring at me to staring longingly at Angel.
"I can't" I whispered but I knew she could hear me because she came up to me and starting shaking my shoulders.
"Yes you can! You would never lie to me!"
"But I already did!" I screamed at her and pushed her away from me. I was getting really mad at them. 'Why can't they accept the fact that I'm happy?'.
Angel must have noticed my distress because he wrapped an arm around my waist and smiled. His eyes, still that beautiful deep purple were speaking right to me.
I'm here Xander. You don't have to go through this alone.
Angel? Why can I hear you in my head?
A vampire and their mate can speak to eachother through thoughts.

"Earth to Xander! What do you mean 'you already lied'!?" I stared into her anger eyes and I did not flinch. It's time to stand up for myself and face them.
"Buffy is right. I saved Angel, I kissed him and he turned back to normal. He is my true love and I am his. And I don't care what you do Anya or what you do Buffy because we will be together and we will not let your anger or jealousy get in the way of us finally being happy"
That's when everything went crazy. Buffy sat down and started crying into her hands and even from here I could feel the sorrow and anger flowing from her. Willow and Giles were arguing about it, Willow was defending us, saying since it was true love we desereved to be happy and that as our friends we should support them while Giles was giving her the same speech he gave Buffy when she starting "seeing" Angel. And then there was Anya, she had demoned up and was staring at Angel like he was the worst thing to ever happen to the world, she was probably more mad at him than me.
Suddenly she attacked. With a clawed hand she reached to slash his face but before she could do anything, as if on instinct my hand reached out and grabbed her wrist, then twisting painfully until she was kneeling on the ground, whimpering in pain.
"How the heck did I just do that!? Angel?"
"A vampire's mate will gain the same abilities they have just weakened. And depending on the human they may also gain other abilitiles, that's why we can speak to each other through our minds" Angel told me.
"Guess I'm not as weak as you think now am I Buffy"
That comment took it too far because she stood up walked right over and slapped me in the face and said: "I hate you Xander! I never want to see you again and I swear for as long as I live I will get my Angel back!". And with that Buffy walked away, pulling the rest of them with her until they were off into the night.
The events of the past night have finally caught up with me because before I knew it I was falling into Angel's awaiting arms. He lifted me up and carried me back inside before the sun came up. I could feel him gently lay me down and change the bandages he had put on me the last time I was passed out. Then he layed down next to me and wrapped his arms around me. I fell asleep with a smile on my face.

Buffy's Pov
As soon as we left the graveyard I told everyone to go home and that we would meet up tomorrow to talk about what happened tonight. And as everyone was leaving I quickly grabbed Anya's arm and pulled her back.
"What is it Buffy?" she asked me.
"I want you to help me with something... I want you to help me break them up so I can get Angel back and you can get Xander back".
"Let's do it. This should be easy since I'm a vengence demon. But I warn you Buffy that I am not above hurting Angel to get Xander back"
"Same goes with Xander"
"That's okay"
"Good, now what are we going to do?"
"That's what tonight is for"
And from there Anya and I began our plan to end Angel and Xander's "relationship" and to get ours back on track.
