"This is wrong in so many ways Gilbert." While Matthew says it he can't help but give a small warm smile to his partner in crime.

The albino shares his smile turning back to the two sitting farther away from them, "But Birdie you could have stayed home with your Dad and all of us could have watched Seven again." He knows exactly what to say to get a death glare from his old friend, "Is that a no?"

"That's a shut up Gil." The teen says with a wicked glare that only makes the other laugh, "Now be quiet because I can't hear them."

Even with all the noise the pair is making Alfred can't seem to hear them as he plays with his fork, "Um…so Sakura." Deep down he's praying his face isn't too red as his mind tries to come up with something that they can talk about.

She gives him a small smile thinking the same things, "Yes Alfred?"

The way she says his name makes his heart flutter lightly in his chest as his palms start to sweat, "I…um w-what's your favorite play?" He wants to kick himself instantly but to his relief she seems to chuckle lightly. "Or poem…or book…"

She can't help but smile at his reddening cheeks, "Poem?" She watches him nod rapidly and for a moment she thinks before smiling sweetly, "Are you going to recite Haiku for me?" His face turns a deeper shade of red and she can tell he's a nervous wreck, "Why don't you tell me your favorite?"

"You sure? I mean we don't h-have to um talk about poetry…" He can see it in her face that she wants him to say something so he inhales slowly before smiling, "It was many, many years ago in a kingdom by the sea. That a maiden there lived whom you may know by the name of Annabel Lee and this maiden she lived with no other thought than to love and be loved by me."

The other two teens don't know whether to face palm or applaud him for his choice of poetry. "Birdie…isn't this about the death of his lover?"

"Yeah it is…"

Gilbert nods slowly, "So why is he…"

Letting out a small sigh Matthew looks over at him, "Because she asked him what his favorite poem was."

Surprisingly she smiles at him as his eyes light up in glee continuing his poem, "For the moon never beams without bringing me dreams of the beautiful Annabel Lee; and the stars never rise but I feel the bright eyes of the beautiful Annabel Lee. And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side of my darling, my darling- my life and my bride-"

"In the sepulcher there by the sea, in her tomb by the sounding sea." Gilbert's jaw nearly hits the floor as Sakura finishes the poem. "That was sweet Alfred."

"Thank you but…I didn't know you liked Poe." It's not until she giggles does it dawns on him, "You read it in English didn't you."

The small smile appears on her face again as she takes a sip of her tea, "I might have but that was still beautiful. In fact, I didn't know you could do that."

He manages a shrug, "Not many people know I can." The teen is confused as she continues to look at him, "What?" Mentally he's praying it's not because he has something on his face or in his teeth or worse he's said something stupid.

"Oh nothing but maybe we should go outside and see the ball drop because I think our friends are…busy." Both look over at Feli and Bella inching closer together in the soft light of their table, "What do you say?"

Instantly standing he nods, "I say it should be a great night to star gaze…or watch the giant ball thing drop."

Matthew can't help but smile as his brother offers his date his hand and both walk out, "I think he might get a small good night kiss."

In a flash Gilbert is on his feet, "And I think we should be there when he does."

"Gil I think we should leave them alone and go back home…and you're going to go watch them aren't you?"

A wide grin grows across Gilbert's face, "What else would I do? I mean we're both single guys and you know there has to be some nice single ladies out there too."

"Oh so they can slap your face? Or so you can faint again?"

Gilbert's eyes harden as he chokes out a harsh whisper, "I thought we'd agree to never speak of that little incident ever again."

Matthew smirks slightly as he stands up and walks out, "She might have agreed but I never did." Gilbert follows soon after grumbling lightly to himself before nearly tripping over Matthew.

"Oh there they are."

Both watch the two walking out into the into the starlight night, "So um you're not cold are you?" Alfred blushes slightly as Sakura looks down, "Cause you could have my jacket…"

Shaking her head she looks up at him, "It's okay. I'm warm enough but thank you Alfred."

"Um you can just call me Al…if you want." Inside he's praying she can't hear how fast his heart is beating and before both know it the countdown starts.

"Three…Two…" The crowd yells out as Gilbert grabs the hand on the nearest girl and Alfred leans down close to Sakura trying to hear what she's saying. "ONE!"

Alfred's eyes grow wide as they share a sweet short kiss as the ball falls and the crowd cheers around them. Matthew smiles but as he turns to Gilbert his joy turns to shock, "Gil! That's Vash's sister!"

Gilbert looks down in mild shock as his gaze turns from Lili to her very angry older brother, "Shit!" In a flash both teens are racing away leaving the pair smiling at each other blissfully unaware of the yelling and cries of pain a hundred yards away in the parking lot.

"Wow…" Alfred manages as it starts to snow around them, "Can I walk you home?"

She nods as she takes his arm and they walk towards the park and away from the crowded parking lot. "I had a nice time tonight."

Alfred blushes slightly as a smile grows across his face, "I did too."
