Hello, everyone! Just a friendly reminder that this is a collaboration piece with my good friend PC 608! We'd just like to thank you for taking the time out of your day to read our fanfic. We really appreciate it and love each and everyone of you.

Summary

Autumn Monroe, resident queen bee and bitch, comes back to Beacon Hills after a much needed break to find things aren't how they used to be. For instance, she no longer runs the school as her former 'best friend' and now enemy, Lydia Martin, has taken her place. Autumn will stop at nothing to destroy Lydia's life like Lydia destroyed hers.

Gia Anderson is the new girl with high hopes for her new life in Beacon Hills. She's ready to take on life away from her overbearing family and start fresh, but things prove to be a little difficult when things start to happen around town. And she's not the only that notices. Gia and Autumn may be the unlikeliest of friends, but they will learn that not every thing about Beacon Hills is what it seems.

Burning Bright

Part Three

I flinch when my foot hits not only a brick wall, but is also captured leaving me immobile. I pop one eye open hoping to find Scott standing in front of me, but I'm left disappointed when I discover Derek is the one holding my foot hostage.

"Who are you?" He barks squeezing my ankle the underlying threat present in his eyes.

"Anderson, Gia Anderson." I smile playfully hoping this guy will find my joke funny. He doesn't even crack a smile.

"Derek! What the hell are you doing!?" Scott growls forcefully shoving Derek back as he releases my foot in the process. I quickly reel the appendage back to me before standing on unsteady legs. I grimace when I see the blood running down my leg.

"What is she doing here Scott?" Derek bellows taking a step in my direction. I don't back down meeting his gaze head on, but Scott is quick to obscure me from view.

"I don't know, but maybe if you gave me a chance I could ask her." Scott retaliates in anger. I watch the two have a stare down neither willing to budge.

"Hey," I speak up limping my way to stand next to Scott drawing both of their attentions. "I'm here for the same reason you guys are. I want to help Isaac."

"You don't even know him." Derek snaps as I shrug letting his words roll off my back.

"I don't have to know him to want to help him. Do you think superman sees a drowning woman and goes oh she could use my help, but tough nuggets I don't know her? No he flies down there and saves her because she's an innocent. And we help those that can't help themselves." I nod knowing I'm right when Derek glares at me harshly.

"She has a point," Scott backs me up smiling down at me in appreciation. I return his smile with one of my own.

"Scott can I have a word with you," he sends me a pointed look, "in private." He not so much asks as demands clasping Scott on the back of the neck and dragging him down the hall. I watch the two argue in harsh whispers while I take this time to look around the house. I stagger my way to the first door I see and I'm not shocked to find it's the basement. It looks creepy as hell down there I realize as I turn to walk away only to smash into Derek. He glares down at me with Scott by his side. "You wanna learn? Let's start now." Derek directs the question at Scott, but his unforgiving eyes never stray from mine.

"What's down there?" Scott asks surprising me when he takes my hand and leads me down the steps with him. I raise a questioning eyebrow, to which, he merely nods towards Derek. Right, he doesn't want me alone with him.

"Motive," Derek states simply. I can feel his eyes following me around the enclosed space as I try not to fall over. My leg is killing me, but I'm not going to back down when I'm so close to figuring out what's been going on.

"And what am I looking for?" Scott yells from behind me as I move farther into the room. The place reeks of broken relationships and crushed dreams. I don't like it.

"Follow your senses," Derek guides Scott. I stop near a shattered vanity mirror looking at my distorted reflection. The glass is still in place with only a few pieces littering the floor around the wooden structure. I tilt my head to the side really looking at myself, into the brown eyes that belong to nana. The high cheekbones that belonged to pop and the creamy complexion I inherited from my mother. I search for that one piece that makes me unlike the rest only to come up empty handed.

"What happened down here?" Scott breaks me out of my thoughts as I stumble to his side. He's standing in front of an ordinary freezer running his hands lightly over the surface.

"What is it?" I ask watching his slightly terrified face.

"The kind of thing that leaves an impression, open it." Derek commands his voice leaving goose bumps on my skin. I wait beside Scott as he slowly lifts the top and what I see makes me want to run screaming. Claw marks mar the inside of the freezer like someone was desperately trying to get out. I even see the faint remnants of blood from where he tried so hard to escape.

"This is why he said yes to you." Scott pieces the puzzle together just one second before I do.

"Everyone wants power." Derek replies suddenly appearing next to me holding a flash light.

"He didn't want to feel helpless." I whisper my eyes still glued to the freezer. How could someone do that to their child?

"If we help you, then you have to stop. You can't just go around turning people into werewolves." Scott negotiates sending a worried glance my way when I don't respond to that.

"I can if they're willing," Derek points out his eyes casting down towards me. Scott growls softly, gently grabbing my wrist and tugging me towards him. I let him when I realize his eyes keep flashing from brown to yellow.

"Did you tell Isaac about the Argents? About being hunted?" Scott asks tightening his hold on me.

"Yes and he still asked." Derek mutters his eyes zoning in on Scott's hold on me. He looks a mix between curious and worried.

"Then he's an idiot."

"And you're the idiot dating Argents daughter." Derek retorts as I feel Scott's body tense. In an instant he's let go of my wrist and taken a step away from me. "Yeah. I know your little secret. And if I know, how long do you think it's gonna take for them to find out? You saw what happens to an omega. With me, you learn how to use all of your senses. With me, you learn control. Even on a full moon." Derek finishes just as Scott hunches over the freezer panting like a caged animal. I take a step forward to help him, but Derek silently shakes his head no.

"If I'm with you, I lose her." Scott breathes casting his eyes towards the floor. I do the same as I realize how much Scott loves her.

"You're gonna lose her anyway. You know that." Derek sighs making eye contact with me over Scott's shoulder. I frown when he sends me a little smirk before turning around and heading for the stairs.

"Wait! I'm not part of your pack. But I want him out. He's my responsibility too." Scott says looking up at Derek.

"Why? Because he's one of us?" Derek asks smugly. I watch Scott's hunched shoulders seriously as he slowly turns to face me. His voice is husky when he answers, but it doesn't stop the smile from spreading onto my face.

"Because he's innocent."

I stared out the window and watched as the darkness quickly consumed the sky as we got closer to the full moon. I couldn't believe Gia and I were right. Scott, Isaac, and that guy Derek were werewolves. Scott was bitten without his consent by Derek's psychotic uncle Peter who is now dead and Isaac was bitten by Derek, who is now the Alpha. Whose status was received after killing his uncle. Allison's family are hunters who kill werewolves. Her Aunt Kate had killed Derek's whole family leaving him, his sister Laura, who was killed by Peter, and Peter, the psychotic killer, the lone survivors. Oh, and Peter killed Kate.

Now, we were on our way to the station because Allison's dad and Gerard sent a hunter to kill Isaac. I felt the pit of my stomach become hollow with the news. I couldn't help, but feel angry at Chris who I'd known my whole life or at least thought I'd known. He was going to let someone kill an innocent boy just because his father said so. Suddenly Stiles' phone began to ring causing me to jump in my seat.

"Hey, did you slow him down?" Stiles' asked Allison.

"You could say that." Allison's voice echoed through the speaker phone causing Stiles and I to smile at each other.

"All right, well, uh, Autumn and I are headed to the station." Stiles said unsure if he should let Allison know I was tagging along. It was quiet for a second.

"How'd she find out?" Allison asked worriedly.

"I might be crazy, but I'm not dense. It only took me a few days to puzzle most of it together. Stiles just filled in the gaps." I answered. I didn't want them to know about Gia just yet. I couldn't drag her into this without her consent. I didn't want to lose a friend over this.

"Oh, h-hey, I didn't mean it in a ba-"I cut off Allison.

"So, then my dad knows everything?" I asked not really caring if she meant to insult me or not. It wasn't important.

"Y-yeah, I think so." Allison answered a hint of uncertainty. "More than likely. He handles all my dad and Gerard's legal stuff. So, it would be odd if he didn't." I nodded my head and looked down at my phone. I hadn't heard from Gia, but hoped she was okay.

"Don't worry you didn't insult me. I understand this is something that should remain a secret. I completely agree with that." I looked to Stiles who gave me a nod of approval.

"Great, because I really want us to be friends." Allison's voice held so much sincerity you could hear it on the phone.

"Me too." I replied with a smile.

"So, where's Scott?"

"Isaac's." Stiles answered causing me to look down at my phone again. I was really worried about Gia. That was for sure.

"Does he have a plan?" I looked to Stiles in confusion. He pointed to the full moon. It dawned on me. They were talking about what he was going to do about the full moon.

"Yeah, but not a very good one. And unfortunately we don't have enough time to come up with anything better." Stiles answered with agitation. We said our goodbyes and Stiles turned to me.

"You ready for this?"

"Please, I'm Autumn Monroe." I replied smoothly and was glad because on the inside I was scared shitless.

"Gia, you should leave." It's the first thing out of Scott's mouth once we hear Derek's mustang squealing down the street.

"I should do a lot of things I don't," I smile completely aware of the fact that Scott is changing. "I like to consider myself a rebel."

"Gia," Scott growls in warning putting his head in his hands. "You need to go. I can't control myself on the full moon." He grunts around ragged breaths. I tilt my head to the side watching as he sinks to his knees in the middle of the floor.

"You're not going to hurt me Scott." I shake my head taking slow deliberate steps towards his shaking form. "You'd be out of a chemistry partner," I try to lighten the mood getting nowhere. I drop to my knees in front of him grimacing when a sharp pain slips up my leg. Scott still hasn't acknowledged my presence and he won't look at me. "Scott." I whisper softly grabbing both of his clawed hands in mine.

"Don't." He denies huskily making me shake my head.

"Too late," I retort, my heart beating abnormally fast as I lift his face to meet mine. His gold eyes are filled with apprehension as he peers at me. His mouth no longer holds the pearly whites I'm used to seeing as rows of sharp fangs have replaced them. I can see where hair is starting to sprout around his face and I know I should be scared. Hell, if it was anyone else I would probably be peeing my pants and running for the hills right now, but it's not just anyone. It's Scott and he needs someone right now.

"How long have you known?" He pants gazing at me curiously. I shrug dropping my hand from his face.

"I had my suspicions, but nothing concrete until now." I smile looking him over in awe. "You're kind of amazing, you know that?" I grin mentally wondering if I'm in shock.

"I'm a monster." He growls his face becoming even more ferocious. I pucker my lips shaking my head.

"I've seen monsters, real ones like Isaac's father." I say nodding towards the freezer behind him. "But you, Scott, you are far from a monster. You may think becoming a wolf as a curse, but I see it has an opportunity." This catches his attention as he focuses his eyes on me. "You have an opportunity to protect the people you care about and to protect the town from what goes bump in the night. I don't see a monster when I look at you. I see a hero." I finish grimacing at the ground in embarrassment because that whole speech went from encouraging to cheesy in the blink of an eye.

"Scott?" I jump when Allison's voice yells from the top of the stairs. I stand up quickly turning around when I hear her descending the steps.

"Allison," I breathe noting the shock masking her face once she sees me.

"Gia! You know too?" She asks looking from me to Scott who is back to watching the floor.

"Surprise," I sigh running a hand through my hair.

"Oh my god what happened to your leg?" She asks walking towards me as she bends down to inspect my wound.

"No it's fine," I shake my head taking a step back. "Scott needs you more than I do right now." I nod in his direction before noticing the duffle bag in her hands. I raise a questioning eyebrow as she answers me.

"Chains," she sighs looking sadly at Scott. I simply nod finding my presence here is no longer needed. Allison has everything under control.

"Right, I think I should probably get go-"

"Wait!" Allison says holding out her hand to stop me from going up the stairs. "Will you stay? I don't really want to be alone after Scott is chained up." She asks her eyes pleading as I sigh nodding my head.

"Yeah," I smile, "I'll wait for you upstairs."

"Thank you Gia," Allison sighs in relief before turning to help Scott. I watch as she kneels down in front of him taking the place I had occupied moments earlier. He responds instantly to her touch causing a surge of disappointment to run through me. Then I remember that there are bigger things to worry about then my little crush.

I pulled off my sweater as we parked in front of the police station and threw it to the back seat. I turned to Stiles who was staring at his rearview mirror.

"So, what's the plan?" I asked Stiles. Who was still staring at his mirror now in disdain.

"Part of our plan just arrived." Stiles answered as he looked at me and at the same moment my door opened. I jumped in surprise to see a guy with dark hair, green hazel eyes, scruffy beard, and his face was looking at me with annoyance.

"Who's this?" He asked his voice held the annoyance his face had plastered on. I arched my eyebrow and looked at Stiles who was looking clearly agitated by this guy's presence. I turned back to the guy and flipped my hair back.

"Who the hell are you?" My tone was filled with just as much annoyance as his. He let out a sigh and arched his eyebrow at Stiles. Stiles let out an annoyed breath of air.

"Autumn. This is Derek." He motioned to the guy who I now knew as Derek. So this was the guy that Gia was talking about. This is the Alpha. Shit. I tried to hide my sudden realization of fear, but one look at the Alpha showed he knew. He had on a smirk that if I wasn't too scared I'd slap it off his face.

"Are you two going to let me in?" Derek asked, but his eyes were directed toward me. I looked to Stiles who was nodding his head and I turned back to the Alpha. I wasn't about to show him just how scared I was of him. He wasn't going to intimidate me.

"Sure but you go to the back." I said as I crossed my arms and stared out the front of the jeep. I suddenly felt two strong arms pick me up. I gasped in surprise. I looked to see the Alpha is carrying me.

"Hey, Derek! Put her down!" Stiles yelled at the scary Alpha, but he didn't even acknowledge the spazy boy.

"Don't be afraid. If I wanted to rip out your throat I would have done it by now." He said as he placed me in the back seat. I looked to Stiles who looked angry.

"You can't just do that to her…she's…fragile." I looked at Stiles to see his cheeks turn pink as the word slipped out his mouth. I smiled at him and couldn't help, but look into his chocolate eyes and see the twinkle that always sparkled in his great moments. Wait. What?

"Yeah, jerk." I said as I crossed my arms angrily. Then I looked back at Stiles. "Thanks." I said and I gave him a small smile. "Since part of the plan is now here. What are we doing to get Isaac out of there?" I asked Stiles and Derek began to chuckle.

"You're that Autumn. Isaac sure knows how to pick 'em." I turned to Derek who seemed slightly amused, but annoyed that I was in fact 'that' Autumn.

"What the hell is that supposed to mean?!" I leaned forward looking at Derek. "Look you slobbery dog, I might be human, but I'm not afraid to shove wolfs bane up your ass." I was fuming at this point that I'm pretty sure my eyes were screaming crazy. Derek looked at me with unsure eyes and looked back to Stiles who had a goofy grin on his face.

"Can we just get back to how we get Isaac out." Derek sighed and looked between me and Stiles.

"Yeah. Okay, now the keys to every cell are in a password protected lockbox in my father's office. The problem is getting passed the front desk." Stiles answered. I looked at Derek who had an expression on his face that read 'that's it'.

"I'll distract her." He replied and began to open the door when Stiles grabbed him and pulled him back.

"Woah, Woah, Woah-you? "You're not going in there." Stiles hastily said as Derek looked down at his hand with disbelief. I chuckled in the back as I saw the scared shitless expression on Stiles' face. "I'm taking my hand off." He instantly let go of Derek.

"I was exonerated." Derek rolled his eyes.

"You're still a person of interest." Stiles countered.

"You left that tidbit out of werewolf in Beacon Hills 101." I quipped from the back. Derek let out an angry sigh.

"Really?" He looked between the two of us. "An innocent person of interest." I shrugged my shoulders.

"An-yeah you, right!" Stiles shouted out.

"Oh yeah, could have fooled me with your 'if I wanted to rip your throat out' line." I said mimicking his voice causing Stiles to laugh. Derek looked at the both of us with a hint of annoyance and murderous.

"Okay, fine what's your plan?" Stiles finally asked after his tiny fit of laughter.

"To distract her." Derek answered like it was the most obvious answer. Technically it would be obvious seeing as the cop was a female and Derek was a fine specimen. Stiles seemed to have a different view.

"Uh-huh. How? By punching her in the face? Huh?" Stiles asked as he made this really dorky face that I couldn't help but laugh at.

"Heh, by talking to her."

"Okay, give me a sample." Stiles countered. Derek just stared at Stiles not uttering a word.

"Dead silence." I leaned forward and shook my head.

"He's gorgeous he doesn't need to utter a word to that women in there. You know how I know?" Stiles looked at me with what looked to me like anger toward Derek. "Because that woman in there probably just clocked in an hour or two ago and she's got a long night ahead of her. Filled with men who are totally not hot and or either old, married, and out of shape, or all of the above. You know as well as I do that there aren't any cute officers on this police force unfortunately." I placed my hand on Derek's face. "One look at this and she will be putty in his hands." Stiles let out a defeated sigh. I smiled triumphantly.

"Mhmm." Derek cleared his throat and I hastily turned toward him. He looked down toward my hand and arched his eyebrow.

"I'm taking my hand off, geez." I pulled my hand away and shook it like it was on fire. "I was just making a point."
