Piper's POV
GRADUATION MORNING
I woke up in a good mood. I got dressed in a rush, stuffed toast in my mouth, grabbed my stuff, and ran out the door. I met Katie on the way to my car, and I slammed down the gas brake. We got to school in 7 minutes, when usually it takes about 20. We met Will, Travis, and the others at the entrance, and skipped off to our separate classes.
While we're on the subject of Will (since I know you're all wondering), after he-who-shall-not-be-named left, Will has been trying to get me to go out with him. I keep insisting that we're just friends, but he is stubborn! Like, yesterday, he showed up at my house with two game tickets! Ahhh! It was so hard to say no, especially because he bought the tickets and everything! One time I was so desperate for him to go away that I had to freak him out a little. I got the idea from Katie:
TheWillinator2000:Hey! U there?
The Willinator2000: Hello?
The Willinator2000: Are u alive and all that jazz?
QueenofMclean: I'm all that jazz but I'm not alive
QueenofMclean: Yet
He didn't reply back… for a few hours. I'm so glad that in a week I'll be off to California to help my mom with her business.
Classes were a breeze, since it was the last day of school. Before I knew it, it was the end of the day and Will was standing at my locker.
"Earth to Piper! Hello? Piiiper!"
Blinking, I looked up at him.
"Hey, Spacey! I was just wondering if, after graduation, you wanted to go to dinner with me?"
This is exactly what I was talking about! He never gives up, does he? "Uh…actually, I can't. I was, uh, planning to-"
"At least go to my graduation party at Katie's house," he protested. "Everyone is going to be there!"
I sighed. "Fine. Now excuse me, you're blocking my locker." When he stepped slightly to the right, I reached around him and grabbed my things, shoving him with my shoulder.
"Sheesh," he muttered.
I raised an eyebrow. "What was that?"
"Nothing," he said, and walked away.
When I got home, I threw on the same dress I wore to homecoming last year (the navy blue one), put my hair in a high ponytail - it goes about to my butt now, and has gotten so wavy it's almost ringlets – touched up my makeup, threw the crimson graduation cap and gown over my arm, and zipped, literally, over to Katie's. How did I do this, you ask? We installed a zip line from my bedroom window to hers. It's so much fun, except when Travis uses it to T.P. my house.
She, Travis, Connor, Kaycie, and Annabeth were already in her driveway waiting for me. Annabeth seemed kind of surprised, seeing me come from Katie's house when I wasn't in there before. Then we walked to the school.
(A/N: I don't really know what graduations are like, so I'm going to skip to the end. Sorry!)
"And finally, Congrats to you all! YOU HAVE GRAADUUAAATEEED!"
My cheer lost in the chaos, I threw my cap in the air and watched all of them rain down. Then I just stood there, shocked and a little sad that high school was actually over. Soon we all will be off to college, and then comes life.
"Congratulations, honey! We're so proud of you!" came Mom's voice from behind me. Dad was on her heels. They wrapped me up in a big hug, then took my arms and led me towards the others.
