I've decided that my other story is going to be QUITE similar to this, so I'm gonna use all the ideas there on this one (which means I'm not gonna continue with that). The Legend of the Spirits
Chapter 8: The Evil Lord
Normal POV
"I seriously doubt Izzy will stop whining about his com," Matt said. Joe shrugged.
Kouji sighed, "Is his computer his life source or something? His whining is giving me a headache!"
Izzy whined, "But really, what if all my files are deleted? Then all my hard work would be gone! What if-"
"STOP WHINING!" practically almost everyone in the group shouted. Izzy then quietly followed the Legendary Warriors. After Takuya and Kouji had found their Spirits, they had decided to walk around the Flame Terminal in search of their best friends, Bokomon and Neemon.
"This place looks like a ghost town, with all those melting metals and smoke. Other than those Okuwamon and GranKuwagamon, did you guys see any other Digimons here?" Tommy asked. The others shook their head. By that time, the large group had finally reached Bokomon and Neemon's house.
The reason they took such a long time was because the tree was burnt to cinders and looked like it was smashed by a wrecking ball. The only telltale signs that that was actually a house was some pieces of small furniture and broken glass, which was meant to be the window.
Zoe covered her mouth in shock. "Could they have been captured? Maybe with the rest of the Digimon?" she asked, certainly worried about the answer.
"Come on. We don't know that, Zoe. Hey Kouji, do you think they hid themselves in that underground place where Lobomon's Spirit was? You might have missed them or something since you were in a rush," JP suggested. Kouji looked thoughtful for a while and then ran off to the cave with the rest following behind.
Kouji's POV
Kouji hoped that what JP had suggested would be true. After all, he did not waste time looking around the place as he had to go help Takuya. When he sprinted down the stairs, a shadow caught his attention. "Hello? Is anyone there? The Legendary Warriors are back!" Kouji shouted.
"K... Kouji? Lo...Lobomon?" a small voice sounded. Kouji squinted in the darkness. The Digimon had floppy rabbit-like ears and red eyes.
"Pagumon!" Kouji shouted and ran towards the Digimon. The rest crowded around the Pagumon.
"Hey! You're that chocolate-loving Pagumon that attacked us last time, weren't you?" JP accused. That incident never ceased to amaze him. Who would have ever thought that Pagumons liked chocolate? The Pagumon meekly nodded.
"Hey, are there any other Digimons in the Flame Terminal?" Kouichi asked kindly as he did not want to further frighten this Digimon.
"Y-yeah. Half of the number of Digimons in the Flame Terminal were captured by the Evil Lord a few weeks back. The rest of us were able to find shelter here where Lobomon and Agunimon took care of us. When the evil Digimon attacked, they were away, so Bokomon and Neemon stood up to them but were captured," Pagumon explained.
"It's alright. Where are the other Digimon?" Tommy asked. Then some other Digimons emerged from behind the pipes and containers in the cave. Some if these included Biyomon, Elecmon, Poyomon and some other Digimons.
Tai spoke up, "Do you know what happened to those Digimon that were taken away?" Suddenly, the whole place became quiet. It seemed like the Digimon had just noticed the newcomers.
Takuya grinned. "Nah, don't worry! They are good guys! Their Digimon partners were taken away too so we are helping them!" At this, the hiding Digimon seemed to calm down.
"We... we do not know. However, we received word from some of the other Legendary Warriors that the Evil Lord did something really bad to them," a Biyomon muttered. Sora seemed shocked that there was a Biyomon here but upon closer examination, she realised that none of the Biyomons were hers.
"Do you know where they were taken?" Kari asked (she had let Zoe and Kouji call her that). All the Digimons shook their heads. Some Poyomon were even sobbing.
"First things first, guys. We've gotta get our Spirits back. Should we stay together or split up? I vote to split up as it's gonna be much faster like that," Takuya announced. The rest decided to split up but Kouichi needed the most convincing as he was afraid that Duskmon might attack Kouji again.
Takuya then decided that everyone should go in the small groups they were in when they snuck into the train station. Everyone agreed, however, Kouji seemed frustrated. He did not mind Kari, but T.K.? To him, he was certainly a pain in the butt because he STILL, after so long, did not trust his brother.
The Digimon from the Flame Terminal welcomed the Legendary Warriors and made sure they rested for a while. With most of the terminal burnt, the Digimon had very little food to eat, but still gave the group food. Everyone declined the offer as the Digimon had to eat too and amazingly, Joe, the doctor, brought some food along.
While eating Joe's food, Cody and Izzy decided to ask more about this Digital World. "So... how do you travel around here? We rode on our Digimons as it was faster," Izzy asked.
"So you not only ask them to fight for you, but you also treat them like a pet?" Kouji dead-panned. Kouichi whacked him for being so rude. "Fine, fine. Sorry."
"Mmm we mostly ride on Digimons called Trailmons, much like subway trains back in Japan. If there aren't any, JP and Zoe can fly in their Human forms, Zoe in Beast form too, I can fly in my Fusion form, Kouji and Kouichi can run in their Beast form, so we can move quite fast. One of us will just carry Tommy," Takuya explained.
"Then what can you eat here?" Cody asked.
"Well... You can eat whatever you bring, like Joe's sandwiches, or you can eat meat apples or meat cabbages," JP piped up, half munching his third sandwich.
"Wha...?" Yolei seemed surprised. 'Not surprising,' Kouji thought. Who had ever tasted apples or cabbages that tasted like meat, other than themselves, that is.
"Yeah those are real nice food! Though you gotta cook the apples," Tommy said. "If you guys really want, once we finish finding our Spirits, we can get some for you." Tai and Davis seemed very excited to taste the meat fruits/vegetables.
"Hey Elecmon, are there any Trailmons around here?" Zoe asked an Elecmon who was sitting nearby.
Elecmon nodded. "Before Bokomon was captured, he made sure that Worm stayed behind in case you came. Worm is in the next stop, the Forest Terminal because the Evil Lord attacked Flame Terminal, so you have to walk there."
"Who exactly is this 'Evil Lord' guy you Digimon keep on talking about?" Takuya asked the question that was in everyone's minds.
Silence filled the area. "It's taboo to talk about the Evil Lord here but since you are the Legendary Warriors, we should tell you," another Biyomon spoke up finally.
"It's said that the Evil Lord is unbeatable. Many Digimon have tried but after venturing into the Evil Lord's lair, no one ever came out again. Some say that the Evil Lord destroys the Digimon and absorb them, making itself more powerful each time. Some others say that it turns originally good Digimon into evil Digimon, like those Okuwamon and GranKuwagamon out there," a Pagumon explained softly.
What kind of Digimon could do that? Or rather, which Digimon WOULD do that? It absorbed fellow Digimons and turn others evil! Kouji thought that they had purified the previous Digital World but it seemed like he was wrong. "I know the time here will pass faster than in the Human World, so when was the last time we were here?" he asked.
"That would be hundreds of years ago. Bokomon managed to write a book on your travels or something like that," a Poyomon said.
Another awkward silence filled the dome.
JP coughed to break the silence. "So... have any other Terminals been attacked?"
"Most of the Terminals where the Spirits are located were attacked. Forest Terminal is going to be attacked soon so I suggest you head there quickly before Kazemon's Spirit is taken," an Elecmon piped up. "So far, the Spirits of Mercurymon, Sakkakumon, Ranamon, Grumblemon and Loweemon have been captured, thus, Duskmon has been created again." Kouji could tell. Kouichi was dumbfounded but still kept his cool. He only had one Spirit left which was JagerLoweemon.
"Oh and Lobomon and Agunimon told us to tell you that only after a week of possessing your Spirits, for at least a week, you will regain some of your Spirit's memory," a Palmon said. "I think you better leave this Terminal. Who know when the Evil Lord might strike again since two Spirits were already taken away."
The whole group stood up, thanked the few Digimon left in the underground dome, and walked out of the Village of Flames. Who was this so called 'Evil Lord'?
