Sweet Confrontations

Chapter 13:

"If I get married, I want to be very married."
Audrey Hepburn

A/N: Hey everyone! So we guess you liked the proposal then huh? Well here's the morning after…ENJOY!

The next morning, Olivia found herself smiling again as she felt Amanda's arm secure around her bare waist. At that moment, it hit the brunette that they NEEDED to tell their squad. She could imagine coming out that she was dating Amanda, but that they were engaged, seemed a bit impossible.

"I can feel you stressing out, stop it." Amanda smiled as she sat up on the bed.

Olivia glanced over at her half-naked girlfriend - well fiancée. "Sorry." She smiled slightly.

"Oh you'll be sorry soon!" Rollins winked and pinned her lover to the bed, spreading kisses up the side of her body.

Olivia let out a moan. "Morning to you too, fiancée."

The blonde gazed down at her, "Wow that will never ever get old!" Benson smiled and traced the blonde's jawline with her finger. The junior detective shivered at the woman's touch and she felt her heart beat increase.

"How are we going to tell the squad Liv?" Amanda found herself saying what they were both clearly thinking.

"Well I'm not sure I can answer that. After all I'm a little bit distracted down here." Olivia teased from her position as she grabbed Amanda's hips firmly and pulled her closer.

"Whose fault is that?" Amanda smirked, her fingertips grazing the outline of Benson's jaw.

"Um, yours." Olivia laughed.

"Okay, maybe." The blonde agreed. The two fell into a comfortable, but tensional silence. Besides the sounds of car horns in the background, the bedroom was silent.

"I tell Fin, you tell Amaro and we can both tackle Cragen." Amanda suggested as she continued to trace her fingers over Olivia's jaw.

Olivia sighed. "Sounds reasonable."

"Stop it." Amanda warned.

"Stop what?" Olivia asked confused.

"Worrying."

"I'm not worr-" Olivia's words were cut off by Amanda's lips making contact with her own.

"Don't worry Liv, it'll all be okay." The blonde smiled at her, "And if not, well then you have a sexy as hell girlfriend...sorry fiancée to come home to every night don't you."

Benson laughed from her position and wrapped her arms more tightly around the younger woman's waist. "I love you so much." She whispered into the blonde's ear.

"And I you detective..." Rollins winked at Olivia and placed a small kiss on the end of Benson's nose which in turn made the older woman giggle.

"What would I do without you huh?" Benson questioned, stroking the side of the woman's face with the palm of her hand.

3 Hours Later:

"Detectives good of you to join us." Cragen called out as the two women walked into the precinct.

Olivia released a long breath as her nerves from earlier returned. She glanced around the precinct to find Amaro and Fin staring at both her and Amanda confusingly.

"We actually have something to tell you all..." Olivia trailed off. Amaro turned around to face them, and Cragen and Fin watched intently.

The brunette was suddenly at a loss for words. She let out another sigh. "Oh, screw it."

And with that said, she pulled Amanda close to her and kissed her passionately in front of them all. Amanda didn't oppose in the slightest she kissed the woman back almost, if not more passionately than her partner. The whole of the squad fell silent; Fin dropped his coffee cup, Amaro stopped dead in his tracks and well Cragen he just stood mouth agape, staring at the two of them.

Olivia pulled away from Amanda and the two looked at the squad and then to each other. Giggles began to erupt from both of them and the room still remained silent.

"We're together okay? You know dating? Not a big deal guys!" Rollins laughed as she saw Fin with coffee soaked shoes still gawping at her.

A few minutes later and everything had returned to its usual chaos, papers fluttered about, pens banged on tables and phones continued to ring.

"Wow, didn't know you had it in you Liv!" Fin chuckled and patted the brunette on the back before hugging Rollins. "Good for you Amanda." He looked at the woman and smiled. It made her feel so calm; he was genuinely so comforting and accepting.

Seeing this, Amanda wondered if Fin always knew she was into women, seeing as he had a gay son. She would understand if he was just a little upset, but the fact he was genuinely happy for her, seemed a bit too amazing to believe. Amaro on the other hand, still stood there dumbstruck while everyone else smiled. This went unnoticed by the Georgian detective, but Olivia caught every second of it.

Nick acted as if he just could not believe the sight in front of him. The Latino detective set his jaw and his stance, turned around and starting walking out the precinct.

Olivia quickly hurried off after her partner.

"Amaro!" She called out. "Nick!"

She finally caught up with him just before he climbed into the elevator, Benson grabbed for his arm but he shook her off.

"Don't even bother Liv," Amaro rolled his eyes. "Why didn't you tell me? Am I not trustworthy, is that it?"

"What? No of course you're trustworthy Nick, it's just Amanda and I wanted to figure out what we were before we let anyone else know." Olivia tried her hardest to explain but Nick just seemed so blank.

"I'm sorry but did you just conveniently forget to tell me you were into women? Or was I the last to know that as well huh?" Nick questioned her.

"Nick! This wasn't a personal vendetta against you jeez!" Benson shook her head and placed a hand on her hip. "We made a decision as a couple, may be it wasn't the best way to explain it to you guys but come on..." She paused. "It was hot!" The brunette winked at the male detective.

He looked up and began to laugh and pulled her into a hug. "I'm just glad you're happy Liv."

Olivia pulled back, a huge smile on her face. "I'm more than happy. I'm freaking head over heels for her, more than she'll ever know." Olivia said softly.

Nick smiled back. "I'm sorry for-"

Benson cut him off. "Already forgiven."

The two walked back to the squad room where they found only Cragen. Olivia frowned slightly at the absence of her fiancée. "Where did Amanda and Fin go?" She asked her Captain.

Cragen's phone rang as he pointed in the direction of the cribs. Amaro went back to his paperwork. The brunette curiously walked towards the cribs.

"So, yeah. I guess you could say that!" Amanda laughed alongside her partner. "It's just if you would have told me I would be deeply in love with another detective at my precinct I'd have laughed at you. And if you'd have said it was Liv, well I'd have probably laughed harder."

Fin hugged the younger woman once again, "I'm happy for you Amanda, you deserve it. Heck maybe now you can help me find the perfect woman!" The older man chuckled as he looked up to see Benson at the door.

"I'll leave you two to it." Fin nodded to Rollins. "Congratulations." He said as he passed Olivia and closed the door behind him. Olivia went and sat herself down by her fiancée.

"Well that went better than expected!" Amanda smiled.

"We're yet to face the wrath of Cragen yet though, but yeah it did didn't it! I wonder what the Captain will have to say about it though." Olivia looked down at the blonde and kissed her cheek.

Amanda was not okay with only this small piece of affection, so she pulled Olivia into a hug. She relaxed in her partner's arms as it seemed that everything was coming into place.

"I love you, Amanda Rollins." Olivia whispered. "If we can survive being held hostage by two psychopaths, then we can survive telling Cragen."

Amanda sighed. "You're right. I'm sorry; I guess I'm the one worrying now."

"Don't apologize." The brunette smiled. "It's perfectly okay to worry. Actually, it's kinda cute on you."

The junior detective rolled her eyes playfully. "Yeah, yeah. Whatever."

Five minutes later, the two women devised a plan to explain to Cragen. When they exited the cribs, he motioned both of them into his office.

"So then..." The older man trailed off and looked at the two of them. "I'm not quite sure what I should be saying right now. Apart from when exactly did this happen?" His face was a mixture of anger, outrage and confusion. He was clearly taken aback by this whole thing. He had never imagined Olivia to really date someone so permanently let alone a woman.

"Look Captain we just wanna say this won't affect us working-" Amanda was cut off as Liv intervened.

"What Amanda means to say is that we can be professional captain." The brunette explained "So I don't quite understand how this could be deemed wrong in any way."

"I never said it would be deemed in any such way." Cragen looked at the two of them and noticed they were holding hands. "I just never thought Liv that you'd-"

"I know Captain but it has and I'm happy." The older woman smiled, positively unsure of what move to make next.

Cragen stuffed his hands into his trouser pockets. "Back to my earlier question, when did this start?"

Olivia looked to Amanda to answer. "Uh, around November."

Cragen nodded and cleared his throat. "Before or after Nate almost cost you your badge?"

Amanda turned seventeen shades paler. "After, sir." She felt Olivia squeeze her hand.

"Seeing as no one knew or suspected your relationship, I am convinced you two can work together peacefully. My only concern is IAB."

"IAB? What have they got to do with this? If we don't show our relationship off then they'll never know. Unless you tell Tucker." Rollins added her part to the conversation then stepped back looking at the door and out into the precinct.
Benson understood where her girlfriend or fiancée was coming from.

"You're not going to report it are you captain?" Olivia's brown eyes pleaded with her superior. Never before had she felt so helpless in such a situation. And losing Amanda would be the worst thing to happen to her, she wasn't sure if she could cope.

Their captain stood contemplating for a minute or two before looking again at the women before him. IAB were the cruelest organization going, surely he wasn't going to do what they thought he was going to do.

Cragen sighed. "I'm going to go to bat for you with IAB, but before I do, is there anything else you want to tell me?"

Olivia shook her head, and felt the strong pain of guilt that came with it. She decided it would be best not to tell Cragen they were engaged, at least not yet. She was sure. Amanda would understand, and with that, she looked away from Cragen. He would be able to tell she was holding something back.

"Okay." And Cragen smiled. He. Actually. Smiled. It was more of a -I'm-glad-no-one's-hiding-a-lesbian-affair-anymore smile, but it was still a smile nonetheless.

Olivia turned to exit the office after her fiancée.

"Oh, and Liv." The brunette turned around.

"Yeah, Captain?" She asked.

"Take care of her, will ya?" Cragen smiled again, but more genuine.

"Will do, Captain."
