Well, one of my sister's friends (ambermon483) apparently likes my version of Cross Soul, so I thought I'd kick myself in the gut and get this series over with :3 From here on in, this will follow the doujin series a bit more, as I actually was pretty much on track with the series to begin with. It's also been years since I worked on this so the writing style will be different (hopefully better) ::praises self and gets kicked again:: Enjoy!

Note: Possessiveness can be a sign of aggression. which is definitely the case with Yami no Yuugi here. If this occurs in your relationship and is affecting it negatively, communication must be involved as quickly as possible. If not resolved, seek further help. Possessiveness is not bad; seeking to possess for the sake of possession while not considering the other party is pretty bad.

The next day at school, Jonouchi looked over at the windows, admiring the leaves that danced in the wind. His pencil was maneuvering itself through his fingers as he played with it, trying hard not to just throw it down.

"Jonouchi-kun, why did you stop?" He looked over to see Yuugi. He had asked Yuugi while with him at the video game store yesterday if the shorter teen could come with him to school on Sunday to do some make-up work. Yuugi had answered him softly, somewhat in a daze, before alerting Jonouchi to the complete lack of video games in the store, as they had sadly arrived late.

"I just don't get this," Jonouchi replied. Maths were never his strong suit.

Yuugi walked over from a desk a bit further away and looked at his friend's paper.

"... You just did the same kind of problem."

"I forgot," came the curt response. Yuugi sighed heavily.

"Come on, Jonouchi-kun!" Yuugi stood his ground as his friend rolled his eyes. "Just hold on for an hour longer, more than enough time for the rest of your maths, and then you can go home."

The blond sighed and looked down at his sheet again, propping his elbow onto his chin and trying to focus.

"Mou hitori no boku," Yuugi whispered. "I wonder if Jonouchi-kun will be okay. If it goes on like this..."

He trailed off, not hearing any sort of response. Not even a wisp of an emotion through their mind-link made itself evident. Yuugi placed his hands on the Sennen Puzzle, trying to probe deeper into its heart, his other self's heart.

Mou hitori no boku? He closed his eyes and felt a calm energy surround him. It was foreign, however, and it made him become more determined to feel his other half.

Where are you? He felt the ghost of a hand caress his cheek as though it were the feathers of a newborn bird, fingers scared to harm the feathers in any way.

A surge of heat overtook Yuugi and he grunted softly in question.

In front of him came an image. His other self had sweat dripping from his forehead and cheeks. Red eyes were clouding over in a passion that Yuugi had only seen while making love. As the image grew, Yuugi felt his face turn red as he saw himself and his other self grinding against each other atop the bed in the spirit's soul room.

The memory-Yuugi laid himself out, like something appetizing, and the other Yuugi was devouring, marking his claim and making sure no one would claim Yuugi. Yuugi was his and everything - from the flushed cheeks to the lewd cock that seemed so desperate for release - belonged to the Spirit of the Puzzle.

Yuugi pulled himself from the vision - a memory of yesterday - and asked aloud what that had been. He didn't notice Jonouchi looking over at him and wonder what the Hell was going on.

No... Why did I suddenly remember what happened yesterday?

"..gi?"

And why now?

"..uugi!"

Yuugi looked up at Jonouchi, who had a curious expression on his face.

"Yuugi, are you okay?"

"Yeah, of course!" Yuugi affirmed, waving his hands as though nothing was amiss. "It's nothing at all."

"Well, if it's nothing," Jonouchi mumbled, shrugging. One hand was held behind his back. "Then that's fine, but your face is bright red.

"Anyway, look at this!" Jonouchi pulled out a video game disc, the disc case the same that they had been looking for the day before.

"'Final Quest X'! Grandpa had sold them all!" Yuugi grabbed the disc case from his friend's hand, which freely relinquished the game. He attempted to hold the case with the care he handled most fragile things, but his fingers seemed somewhat sweaty and he gripped it more tightly. The characters on the design cover had determined faces, determined to find the new treasure that would continue their quest from the last game. The eyes were familiar. "How did you get it?"

"I got it from Haga in another class, the one next to ours." Jonouchi smiled, excitement clear on his features. "Once this is over, let's go over to your house and play it, Yuugi!" He turned to Yuugi, who would not take his eyes off of the game, staring at it with all intensity.

"But, you're not listening at all!" Jonouchi grabbed Yuugi from behind, holding him close in the strange, affectionate way that they have had as best friends. "Oi! Listen to what I'm saying, you!"

Yuugi looked up at him in confusion, and then he began to laugh as Jonouchi tickled his sides.

"Jonouchi-kun, that tickles!" Yuugi laughed loudly without restraint.

It was a happy sound.

It stopped, and Jonouchi was left looking at red eyes.

"At a time like this, bringing out my partner's favourite game isn't very admirable," said the other Yuugi, his voice grave. "Jonouchi-kun."

"Yuugi?" He laughed awkwardly, trying to get rid of the tension in the air. "Ah, no. It's because he wanted to play this game, more than me, so I showed it to him first."

Come to think of it, my partner did say that the hidden characters of this game are amazing. The other Yuugi was silent, admiring the art on the cover.

My partner's favourite...

"Jonouchi-kun," heard the blond teenager, hearing the serious voice that he usually only heard when the other played games. It carried an air of fealty, however; fealty to what or whom, he didn't know. "My partner specially gave up his weekend to come here with you, so you'd best finish up your work as quickly as possible." Jonouchi nodded and sat down in his desk. He took the disc that was being held out to him and nodded.

"Right, I guess I'm causing trouble for Yuugi now." He looked to Yuugi again and noticed it. "And when did you two change back again?"

Yuugi looked at him in confusion, violet eyes devoid of knowledge of the situation.

"Suddenly changing bodies with me like that," Yuugi mumbled. "I wonder what's going on."

In that one moment, the past was revived.

"At any rate, let's hurry up and get out of here," Jonouchi was saying, but Yuugi felt no relief.

Only apprehension.

As Jonouchi did his maths, he recalled the last night he had spent at Yuugi's house. His friend red in the face and the shirt of his pyjamas open, Yuugi had been moaning quietly, tears at the corners of his eyes from how tightly he was closing them. The Sennen Puzzle had been close by, glowing softly as if responding to its master's feelings.

"Ah!" Yuugi came back to reality and smiled at his friend. "Let's finish quickly, Jonouchi-kun! Then we can go home and play the game!"

I think it's definitely...

"Sorry, Yuugi. I think I'll have to pass today," Jonouchi said. Spotting the slightly withering look on his friend's face, he added, "I'll lend the game to you and you can start without me if you want."

As Yuugi made certain his friend would be all right with Yuugi starting without him, he waited for his friend to finish the work in total silence. When Jonouchi was done, they went their separate ways. He didn't see Jonouchi staring after him, an unreadable look on his face.
