Eyes Only?
"No." Ruth mumbled. "No, oh no not this time." She bit her lip as Malcolm sat in the chair Zaf had abandoned not so long ago.
"What is it?"
"We know Zoe and Erin were supposed to be meeting Tracey Brewer."
"But she's dead." Tariq added as Ruth nodded.
"Yeah." Calum frowned. "The award for stating the obvious goes to."
"I have to get this to Adam. How long until we can use comms again?" Ruth looked at the three technical officers. Tariq looked away and Calum began to find something very interesting on his desk.
"I am hopeful in the next hour. Or so."
"So we are still in the dark. Literally." Ruth sighed, clearly frustrated. "The Grid is still in electronic lock down?"
"Yes." Malcolm stated. Ruth nodded before getting to her feet. Wincing she picked up her jacket. "Ruth? You. Harry said."
"Our communications may be down but it only affects the Grid as far as we are aware. Stan's phone wont be. I'm going to ask him if I can call Adam."
"Our mobiles may be affected." Tariq looked up. Ruth stared at him for a moment.
"Tariq, I work with three computer geniuses. You've configured our phones yourself. You know it's practically fool proof."
"Yeah, but until this morning I thought the Grid was."
"It was." Malcolm paused. "Ok, Ruth. You have to get that to Adam. I understand that but be careful."
"I will." She headed towards the Grid. "What harm can anyone come to in Stan's office?" She smiled as the Pods closed around her.

"Harry?" Ros sat on her haunches as she tried and failed to find the doorway to the room they had been dumped in. The walls seemed impenetrable. "Anything?"
"No." Harry answered, aching with every movement he was worried he would slow down any chance Ros had of escape. For a moment Danny and Fiona filled his mind. He wondered if Danny had thought such a thing the day he had died. He hoped he wouldn't be in the same position, but knew it was a read possibility. "No one else is dying on my watch." He stated as Ros turned to him.
"Pardon?"
"We are going home." Harry looked at her. "I have no intention of allowing Tessa to win and I have no intention of getting a new Section Chief."
"I should hope not." Ros stated. "Harry, is this really a good time to discuss my preformance review?" Her hands curled around a sharp metal object protruding from the wall as she spoke.
"Probably not." Harry stepped over to her.
"A door hinge."
"Yeah." Harry nodded. "Right, Lucas told me once how he and Ruth got out of a hostage situation. Not sure it'll work here."
"No, I'm hardly a believable damsel in distress." Ros smirked. "You, well. You could do it."
"Excuse me?" Harry frowned as the sound of footsteps could be heard getting nearer.
"No offence Harry but you had that mini stroke a couple of years ago. You are the right age for something. Just hurry up if you are thinking what I'm thinking."
"Bloody Nora."
"With bells on." Ros smirked as the footsteps grew nearer. "Oi! We need a hand in here! Your star hostage is having a heart attack!" Ros hit her fists against the door as Harry loosened his tie and slumped against the opposite wall. "He's dying! Bloody Hell! WE NEED HELP!" Ros yelled. Moments later the door swung open as Tessa and a younger man Ros only recognised from photographs appeared. Tessa frowned for a moment.
"Harry? You don't expect me to believe?" She begun as Ros pushed the older woman forward while Harry slammed his knee into the guts of the younger man, allowing his gun to fall to the floor. Ros grabbed it and turned it on Tessa.
"Now now Tessa. That caring nature of yours will only get you into trouble." Harry stated before stepping back out of the room with Ros still holding the gun. Tessa swore as Ros stepped away.

"Stan?" Ruth appeared in the doorway of his office so suddenly his coffee almost spilt onto his greying shirt.
"Ruth! Flower."
"I need some help. Can I use your phone?"
"Oh course you can, Flower. What is it? How are the ones on the Grid? Not working?"
"No. We've reported it." Ruth sighed as Stan handed her the small phone. She was still dialling the number as Stan began making tea with one eye on the security monitor. "Adam." Ruth paused. "Adam, listen to me. I know. I've been to the archies. Claire in Records let me sign it out. A file with Harry and Tessa's signitures on it."
"So? She was part of Section B." Adam glared out of the window screen. "Ruth?"
"Yeah but this goes back to the late 1990s. June 1999 to be exact." Ruth stated. "Only the handwriting isn't Harry's. I'd know it anywhere. He did not sign this."
"What is it?"
"It's an Eyes Only file. Dated 13/06/99." Ruth stated. "An operation in West London went wrong. The man that died worked for 6 at the time. Seems his death was swept under the carpet."
"Ruth, there's a brawl in the bar. I'm about to go in and see if I can get our people out. Be quick."
"The man who died was an MI 6 officer. Geoffery Brewer. He was a technical officer, he was also Dominic Brewer's brother. It seems his death was covered up by Tessa and she's trying to blame it on Harry. I think that's what got him involved in Nightingale."
"Ruth, who is the third signiture? Does it match the real one?"
"William Towers. Adam, the third signiture is William Towers. He was an MP at the time, easily bribed."
"Yeah." Adam frowned.
"He arranged for Harry to be abducted. He arranged for us to be focused on Brewer and the prison. To spend all that time on an op designed to get as many Section D killed as he could."
"I'm getting Erin and the others out of here. I don't know how but I am. Get hold of Alec and Lucas. I should have seen this. Ruth, I don't know why I didn't."
"None of us did." Ruth paused. "But removing Section D, by any means and especially Harry and Ros means there is a clear road for a group like Nightingale to take hold."
"And that's what they think they have done." Adam paused. "Ruth, this ends now. It has to." He ended the call before running into the bar, hoping he wasn't too late.
