"Tessa is in Thames House?" Harry asked as he pulled on the spare jacket Ruth had brought from Thames House. Ruth nodded once. Even the mention of the woman's name made her skin crawl. Harry smiled slightly. "Ruth."

"As far as I am concerned she is responsible for all this. You know Tessa Philips. Men just fall at her feet." Ruth fell into step next to her husband as they headed towards the car park. "I don't know how she does it."

"Not all men." Harry stopped as Ruth realised she had been walking on without him. She took a deep breath and turned to face him. "Yasmin Thomas' husband, Tom Quinn, Jools Silvitir, Jim Coaver. Anyone I've left out?"

"Ruth." He took her hand in his. "I know you are right, Tessa is a manipulative nightmare. She makes Juliet look like an amateur. Jools was always a self-serving blood sucking little runt of a man" A slight smile passed across her face as Harry raised an eyebrow.

"When I started at Thames House Zoe and Danny always referred to him as the vampire from 6."

"They were right. But he's not around and Tessa has resorted to dragging in civilians. She has made a mistake doing that. You know she has." Ruth held his gaze as he spoke, part of her still not believing he had survived two attempts on his life in as many months. He remained serious as he studied her face. "I have spoken to Adam. When you were on the way here." She nodded, aware that he had done so. "I'm taking him in to interview her."

"Like Hell you are." The couple turned to see a defiant Ros behind them. Lucas closed his eyes in silent resignation. "I nearly killed the pair of us to get us away from that goon. Now, you know this goes straight back to her door. Adam will think he wont be turned by it but he will. You may even be."

"Ros." Harry turned to face her. He could see she was injured but in no mood to be argued with. "I hardly think." She raised an eyebrow.

"You are a man. This is Tessa Philips we are talking about." Ruth bit her lip, unsure that riling Harry in his current mood was good for his blood pressure. "You know she'll try."

"And she'll fail." Ros tried not to wince as she moved. "I'm interviewing her."

"With me. I am still your Section Chief." Ros walked past him to where Lucas' car was parked. "Today? Or are we going to spend the rest of today stood in the A&E carpark?"

Lucas smiled wryly before following her, leaving Harry and Ruth alone.

"Why now?" Dimitri leant forward as Zoe tapped the keyboard in front of her. He had no idea Nightingale had been such a problem in the early days. "I can see why they thought the trade conference and the Pakistan minister being in the UK would be a target but there is nothing going on at the moment."

"True." Beth nodded as she looked up from her work. She watched as Alec shrugged his shoulders.

"Because now no one was watching. Nightingale get Brewer to incite racial hatred. To stir up trouble among the mindless thugs that unfortunately live in our country. Lowest common denominator - fear. That's what they want to spread. Tessa is in it for the money." He got to his feet. "It's what Towers has done and why I am more concerned about."

"A corrupt politician?" Tariq smirked. "Who would have thought?"

"Maybe it's an ideology?" Dimitri shrugged.

"There is no way there is an idealist bone in that witch's body." Zoe snapped. "Sorry, but I was here when she was. So was Malcolm. The woman was a self serving cow then. Nothing has changed, she's just upped the stakes." Zoe took a deep breath.

"Well." Malcolm stated, replacing the phone on his desk. "She was always an acquired taste. That was Stan in the custody suite. It seems our young man will only talk to Adam and Natasha."

"Tash isn't an active officer. She's a sleeper." Adam frowned.

"And she is his sister." Malcolm stated. "It may be worth it. You never know."

"Right." Adam paused. The Pod doors opened to reveal Harry and Ruth in one Pod and Lucas and Ros in the other. "I thought you were in hospital." Adam continued.

"Check your facts." Ros shrugged her jacket off. "Room number."

"What?"

"Where Tessa is waiting. I know you, Adam."

"Four." Erin stated. Ros nodded before marching back out of the Grid with Harry at her side.

"That is not good." Beth stated as Alec rolled his eyes.
