Eighteen: My Knight In Shinning Armor

I knew that I had to be brave and calm for Nora's sake, but I couldn't stop shaking. There was no way that my father would just let us go like that, no way.

How did he even find us here? Has he been following us home from school? If so, for how long? A few days? Weeks?

I felt nausea burning through out my stomach, like fire through a forest burning every piece of grass, strand by strand. Like my father, eating through my soul, day by day. I had to find a way to protect Nora and myself.

However, the only thing I could think of was leaving Twilight Town, but that wouldn't do us no good. We'd be running from our fear, and not facing it, not to mention that our father will never give up until he finds us. He'd be hunting us till the end of his life.

I nearly jumped out of my skin from a loud thud down the hallway.

My heart froze, and I became as still as a statue.

It was my father, I knew it was. He must have broken through the window. Nora squeezed my hand tightly, her face blanched and her pupils were dilated.

"Namie?" She whispered, her voice was weak, I look down in horror to see her leg was coated in blood. She must have tripped and fell when I ordered her to run inside when I spoke with dad.

Stay calm….stay calm….

I told myself as a pair of footsteps got closer and closer to us. I look over my shoulder for a quick escape, the back door! Yes!

However, I had to handle my father first, I couldn't have Kairi and her family come home to him roaming inside their house.

"Hang on, Nora." I whisper as calmly as I can.

I nearly trip over my own feet as I race across the room to the Victorian chair, it was the only weapon I could think of at this time, the footsteps were just outside the room now. I bend down to pick up the chair, that was a LOT heavier than I expected.

I charge in front of Nora, raising the chair up as high as I can without breaking my arms.

"Leave us alone!" I screech ready to throw the chair as the door swung open to reveal…..Roxas!?
Before I could stop myself, I had already thrown the chair, he groaned and fell square on his stomach.

I race over to him, he held a hand over his left eye.

"Roxas!" I cried out. "I'm so sorry!"

Roxas grinned. "Damn girl, you're stronger than I thought!"

I felt myself blushing. " It was just a chair…."

"Namine!"

Oh shit! Nora!

"Sorry Roxas, I have to take Nora to the hospital! She fell on her way in!" I said quickly helping him to his feet before running over to pick up my little sister.

"What? Hey, let me take you!"

"Roxas, I seriously need to go!"

"Walking will take way to long." He grabbed my shoulder and let me out back.

I quickly got in the front of his car with Nora in my lap. Roxas jumped In the driver's seat and popped open the glove box, handing me a roll of gauze.

I took it with a shaking hand and quickly began to wrap it around Nora's leg, she was bleeding so much, I was even covered in her blood. The nausea was coming back, I looked like I've just freaking murdered someone.

"Don't worry, Kitty. We'll get you to the hospital very soon." Roxas said stepping on the gas pedal hard. Cars honked and people screamed at us as we fled by them.

I almost felt myself smiling at Roxas for calling Nora Kitty.

"Roxas…" Nora said weakly. "You…you have to put on your seatbelt!"

"This is an emergency." He said, but I knew he was fighting off a smile.

I tied the gauze as tight as I could to stop the bleeding, Nora whined in pain.

"Shh! We're almost there….hang in there kitty, you're strong!"

I wasn't going to loose her like I lost mom. I forbid it.

Roxas dropped us off in the front of the Emergency Room, so he could go park. We've made it.

I ran as fast as my legs could carry me, holding Nora close as I rushed to the front desk. Yuna was behind It, going over some paper work, she looked up at me with wide bi-colored eyes.

"Namine! Are you alright!?" She cried standing up from her seat, her hands fluttering up to her chest.

"It's Nora! She fell and I need help now!" I shouted shoving my little sister into Yuna's arms.

I didn't mean to be so demanding but it just came out that way. I failed staying calm. I failed protecting Nora.

"Right away! I'll have someone clean you up!" Yuna said in a clam voice and hurried out of the room with Nora in her arms.

She was obviously used to these kind of emergencies and people probably bossing her around.

"Namine!" Nora screamed reaching out to me as they left the room.

I wanted to follow, and tell her everything was going to be alright but my legs gave in before I had time to think, and the world around me went black.

I woke up seeing white, everything was white, and quiet….so very quiet. At first I thought I was dead, but then my ears began to pick up the sound of a heart monitor, and my eyes soon adjusted to my bright surroundings.

There was a cabinet and sink In front of me. I slowly turn to my right to see Nora laying besides me in her own hospital bed, she was awake and hooked up to a couple of different tubes running through her, besides her was Roxas.

"Hey, look who's up!" Roxas said smiling at me.

I sat up and groaned as my head started to spin, but I ignored it and hurried over to Nora's bed side.

"Nora! You're alri-" I cut myself off when I noticed a little golden kitten fast asleep in her arms, it was purring loudly and it's mouth was quirked as if it were smiling.

"Hi Namie! Look what Roxas got me! Isn't he cute!? I named him Buttercup! Are you feeling better!? Nurse Yuna said you passed out! And she gave us each a lollipop, but I ate yours! I'm sorry! I'll give you my favorite crayon when we get home to make it up to you if you like! I don't mind really! I don't!"

I smiled and my eyes started to water.

"No, Nora." I kissed the top of her head.

"You being safe and healthy is all I need."

Nora smiled and petted Buttercup's head. "I think he like's me!"

"No, he love's you." Roxas said tugging me gently by the arm so I could sit in his lap.

I grabbed his face in my hands and allowed my lips to melt into his, I kissed him quickly since Nora was in the room, but with all the passion I had.

Roxas' eyes widened. His left one was swollen from the stupid chair that I just had to throw at him.

"Thank you." I whispered as my tears blinded me. "You're my Knight in Shinning armor. I'm so glad you found me."

Roxas wiped my tears away with his thumb.

"Baby, you don't have to thank me for doing my job."

I laughed. "And what's that?"

Roxas grinned. "For taking care of you."

"Awww!" Nora cooed, causing us both to laugh. "Sorry! I'll shut up now!"

I shook my head getting up from Roxas' lap to sit by her bedside. "No, You don't ever have to shut up. I love you, you mean the world to both Roxas and I."

Nora smiled. "Why thank you!"

"Excuse me?" Yuna asked stepping inside the room. "Miss Nora has a visitor!"

Marlene peeked out from behind Yuna's legs and quickly ran over to Nora.

"Nora! Are you feeling better!? I told Roxas to buy you the kitty! Do you like him!? I also picked him out for you! But my mommy didn't drop me off till later because she had to finish working!" Marlene said as Yuna checked up on Nora.

"I love him! I named him Buttercup! But he can be your kitty too because you got him for me! Thank you, Marlene! You're the best friend ever!"

Marlene crawled onto the bed with Nora and wrapped her arms around her in a gentle hug. "No, you're the best friend ever!"

Yuna smiled at me. "Your sister is a wonderful little girl, she's going to be alright."

I rose to my feet to hug Yuna, I could feel myself starting to cry again.

"Thank you, thank you for everything."

"I'm sorry about your eye."

Roxas laughed and hugged me close. "I've had worse."

We were cuddling in my hospital bed, Nora and Marlene have fallen asleep on hers.

This was the perfect time to tell Roxas about my father.
