This is my first fanfiction. I've been wanting to write this for a while. Since it's the first, it'll be probably a little bad, but constructive criticism is welcome.

Disclaimer: I don't own Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Rick Riordan does. I do own Oddy Lee, Coach Stanley, and Atalanta Lee.

The Scythe of Forgiveness

Chapter 1

Stop. Right now. This is important. This could be a story sort of like your own. If so, keep it as a survival guide. Your life could depend on it.
This is not a joke.
You know about the Greek gods and goddesses? Well, they're real. Don't believe me? I'm living proof! But I didn't know that all the time. Neither did my bro, but we do now, and it's dangerous considering the parents we have.
I'll take you back to when we didn't know, the day before we did. It was like any normal day which all days start out as, but that day, my track coach turned into a flying bat. The proper term, Fury. Before, I only thought her as the average over-worked mom. Thing is, I think she hated me. You see, she always seemed to yell at me, shake her head, or just plain stare.
Like I said, she's my track coach. You know, the person who's supposed to encourage you and press you and get the best stuff for you. Well, she degrades my hard earned pride and has us run on a track that runners and bystanders constantly spit gum and spit on. It's always over 130 degrees Celsius, bird poop is everywhere even the bleachers.
Well, I was having one of my many daily sessions with Coach Stanley.
You need to try, Atta. You are a disgrace to the Roadrunner team name!" she growled. She was standing right above me blotting the sun out making it only 40 degrees lower. She spat on the ground.
I wanted to say, "Then why don't you kick me off.", but I really said, "I am trying Elizabeth."
I saw rage flash in her eyes. I wanted to pack up and leave, but for some reason, my body just wouldn't move.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw my brother, Oddy, skateboarding his way down to pick me up.
"Atalanta! Mom said we have to go home now." His curly hair which he grew long flew across his face.
Coach looked away from me to my brother. Suddenly I could move, but I went into shock after what she said next.
"Die Son of Time! Rot in Taratus!"
