I sat the kid down and checked over his leg. It didn't seem too serious maybe just a sprain it would be better in a few hours. I grabbed his face with both my hands to get him to look at me. "Hey. You are fine. I'm here...believe me. I will not leave you or anyone behind. Just calm down." I explained trying to reassure him. He nodded and looked a bit confused. "Okay, thanks. Who are you by the way?" I smiled and let him go."Dulce. Go sit back and relax a bit, okay." He nodded and I turned around to look at the bus door just as Mr. Teacher guy came in. "So who is in charge?" he said looking at Lady who started to drive.
Rei looked all kinds of upset from the corner of my eye. "I am. So move your ass to the back and sit down." he looked at me challengingly. "You seem a bit too young to be the leader here..." I glanced at him and frowned. "Oh I'm sorry, but it is not age which makes us but experience and qualifications in this case." He smiled and seemed to believe he now had the upper hand. "Well I am a teacher and am more than qualified to take over the group."
My hand gripped my umbrella tightly. How dare he...he is so going down. "Oh my...how charming. You seem to believe you have what it takes to be leader. I will not deny that you can be rather persuasive but you just don't have the true qualities that are needed." I said as I spun my umbrella a bit. He raised and eyebrow and seemed to start to take a more defensive position. "What is it that I do not have." He practically spat out. The entire bus silent.
"Besides compassion and true care for others...the military background. You do not know what is best to do when facing this type of danger. You are ignorant in the fact that this is not a matter of drastic cleansing of the weak but the change we must find in ourselves. Right now is when our true ambition comes to light and we must face the reality of who we are. This of course means that in order to find stability we need a sure leader that helps keep order and cares. You Sir! Do not care." I said it all calmly slowly circling him. He seemed a bit confused and seemed to think things over. In any case I pushed and led him to a seat.
"While we let this poor fellow regain himself, I am going to introduce myself to the audience. Hello everyone my name is Dulce and from now on if you want to survive I suggest you follow me." I called to them. They all nodded and seemed to decide to follow like sheep. "Okay. Saya, sweetheart. I want you to take names. Newbies, I want girls on the left and boys on the right. Now we are going to drive to the closest location which is away from the school. Anyone have family they are worried about?" I asked smoothly. Only five hands shot up. "Okay. I don't want to be cruel but who got to contact their family out of you five?" Only two both guys. "You two. Did they say anything about where they were and if they were safe?"
Both looked hopeful as they stared at me. "State your name and give a relay of what you have." They nodded and the younger one with light brown hair went first. "Hamoto Kyo. I spoke to my mom she said something about a safe place more east. My mother is a police officer but she used to work for the special forces. She said to stay calm and keep moving that she would find a way to contact me." I nodded and made a mental note. The older guy then went. "My sister said that the police were booked out and that she was going to stay inside her home until she heard something or I come for her." I nodded.
"Lady do you know some place we can stop for supplies?" She nodded and stared ahead concentrating. "Yes. We can go to my friend's apartment. It is a bit far from the city limit but away from the school." I pat her shoulder and head back to the group everyone seemed calm and put together. The only one slightly out of it was Mr. Teacher guy. Rei seemed to be calm with the help of her boyfriend. Takashi and Pacman seemed to be swapping stories as Saya and Saeko started taking names. I then sat down, next to Teacher guy, unfortunately. Opening my bag I pulled out my folder. It had a few maps of Japan, Looking it over I circled major cities. From there the one's with airports and ports. Okay so the places to avoid down. From the corner of my eye I saw Teacher guy eyeing me.
"It is rude to stare you know." He looked away and clenched his fist. I pulled my cellphone out and dug through my bag for my battery charger. Once I found it I turned on my phone. The provider was still up thank goodness. I searched for recent news and such apparently a lot of air ports in America are closed off but the vireous was already spreading like hot cakes in The US. I gave a sigh.
"Dulce. Here is the list." Saya said as she handed me a few papers. "Okay. Thanks Saya." I replied sweetly as I clipped the papers together and started to read through it. "There are 15 of them not including our group right." I asked as I looked up at her. She nodded and went off to sit with the others. I think she could tell I was sitting with him to cut off his influence. Everyone else were truly like sheep.
"We need to take inventory of what we have." I got up and walked around to ask. Most of the things they carried were kind of useless. Makes me want to drop them like flies. With a sigh I sat next to Mr. Teacher guy again. "How useless." I mummbled. He glanced at me. "Tell me about." He remarked. I huffed. Why could I not have been blessed with millitary people instead of...high school dorks...and prima donnnas, with the dash of stupid teen boys. Well I could always run off with the strongest group of gentlemen I find...nahh. Being Queen...of another group would be awesome though.
