Prologue (from transcripts):
A short time ago, there was a dimension filled with wonderful magic. But then,
darkness came into power, and the great battle began. An army of the undead, led
by a powerful warrior, swarmed over the land, setting their sights on the human
realm and beyond. All seemed hopeless when a small legion of brave and true
wizards came forth. Against insurmountable odds, they battled heroically. They
drove the evil back from the edge of the human world.
And then, two brave
wizards cast a spell rising the Gates of the Underworld the forces of evil had
come from and that sent the armies back into the Underworld. But great victory
comes at great cost. The one who rise the gates, the Gatekeeper, lost her life
in the deed while the other who pushed the forces back beyond the gate was lost,
defending the gateway to prevent even one dark soul from escaping as it was sent
back to the Underworld, and evil disappeared from the surface world.
The
human world never knew of the great battle, or the sacrifices that were made to
save them from destruction. Even to this day, they live in peace, totally
unaware of what is about to awaken, or of just how significant the small town of
Briarwood truly is…
Part 1:
Daniel Garcia was the new guy in town. He never knew his parents; they left when he was a baby. His grandfather, who he lives with now, was the only family he knew. Every night, he kept having weird dreams about the mystical dimension of Root Core, and it's magical protectors known as the Mystic Force, with their magical wands and their magical creatures; The Ancient Titans.
He arrived into the town of Briarwood on the last week of summer vacation. He was soon going to attend Briarwood High school, and was wondering if he was ever going to fit in...
Daniel: (to himself) OK, only a week left until I start my senior year. My grandpa and I have been moving around a lot, and now we have a place that we can finally call home. But, what I don't fit in at all? I know Grandpa said not to worry and that everything will be alright, but most people think I'm different, and what's weird, is that I believe them.
On his way to the mall to look for an after-school job, he bumped into another teenager; Cameron Brooks.
Cameron: Whoa, sorry.
Daniel: That's OK. I'm new to this town. I'm Daniel.
Cameron: I'm Cameron. What school do you go to?
Daniel: I'm starting Briarwood Prep next week.
Cameron: No way! I go there.
(Mike, Cameron's best friend, enters.)
Mike: Hey, Cameron. (noticing Daniel) Who's this?
Cameron: This is Daniel; he's new here in Briarwood.
Mike: Hey, Daniel. It's great to meet you.
Daniel: Great to meet you too.
(Casey, Cameron's little sister, enters.)
Casey: Cameron, there you are! I've been looking all over for you! If you lose me again, I'm telling Mom! (noticing Daniel) Who's this?
Cameron: Sis, this is Daniel. He just moved here.
Daniel: It's great to meet you all.
(Anna, Cameron's other friend, enters.)
Anna: Hey, guys, what's going on? (she sees Daniel then gets a bit shy) Oh, hi. I'm... Anna.
Daniel: I'm Daniel. I just moved here.
Anna: (shy) Oh, right. It's nice to meet you.
Daniel: Yeah, you too.
Anna: I got to go, bye. (she exits in a hurry.)
Daniel: OK.
Cameron: Sorry, she's a little shy.
Daniel: OK. I'll see you guys in school.
Mike: OK, see you there.
Cameron: Alright.
Casey: Same here!
(they all exit.)
One week later...
School had begun, summer had ended and today was just a normal day at Briarwood High.
Daniel: (looking at his timetable) OK, first class of the day is... Science, with Mr Aidan. Room 139.
Coincidentally, Cameron, Mike, Casey and Anna were in the same class as he was.
(the bell rings.)
Mr Aidan: OK, class, today we're going to learn about photosynthesis and respiration in plants. First of all, who can tell me what the word equation for respiration is?
(Casey's hand shoots up first.)
Mr Aidan: Yes, Miss Brooks.
Casey: The word equation is glucose and oxygen chemically bonding to produce carbon dioxide, water and energy.
Mr Aidan: Excellent! Now, who can tell me what the word equation for photosynthesis is?
(Mike's hand shot up next.)
Mr Aidan: Yes, Mr Adams.
Mike: The word equation for...
(the place starts to shake.)
Student 1: What's going on?
Student 2: Earthquake!
(everyone screams in panic.)
Suddenly, Daniel, Anna, Mike, Cameron and Casey all disappeared in five beams of light; red, blue, green, yellow and pink.
(they all scream, then land in Root Core.)
They all ended up in the mystical dimension known as Root Core. To Daniel, it seemed familiar...
Casey: Where are we?
Daniel: I don't know, but I feel like I've been here before.
Cameron: What? You mean, here in this creepy, dark forest?
Daniel: I think it's more than that. It could be... magic.
Mike: Let's take a look around; there's got to be something or someone to tell us where we are.
(they search for a while, then suddenly, there came the sound of thunder.)
Mike: Was that thunder?
Casey: It could just be a storm.
Anna: I think we'll need to find shelter soon.
Cameron: (seeing the tree known as Root Core.) Wait! There's a cave over there! Let's go there!
(Cameron runs and the others follow.)
(the cave closes as they all enter, and the inside lights up.)
(the friends are all surprised about what is around them.)
Anna: What place is this?
(a mysterious, cloaked figure magically appeared before them.)
Aether: The five of you are now in Root Core, and you are here to take your destiny to become the one and only Power Rangers Mystic Force, the protectors of Root Core and the human world.
Casey: Excuse me, who are you?
Aether: Oh, allow me to introduce myself. I am Aether, one of last magical beings in Root Core, and distant cousin of the great sorceress, Udonna.
Cameron: So, why are we here?
Aether: Because, many years ago, there was a great battle between good and evil. The Gates of the Underworld had opened, releasing an army of the dead on the land. All hope seemed lost, until a legion of brave wizards fought courageously against the odds and drove the dark forces away from the realm. But, with freedom, there was a cost. Many had lost their lives in the great battle. Although the evil had disappeared from the surface world, there was still great danger within the realm as there were traitors among them. The five wizards combined their powers to fight them off, but only one of them was able to come out of the battle alive. The rest had perished. But that one had decided to continue on with the battle, and went through the Gates of the Underworld alone to keep fighting, but they never returned. When the five of you entered the forest, you stepped into a magical dimension, and now, their powers have been passed onto the five of you, so you can continue their legacy.
Casey: So, now the whole world and 'Root Core' is depending on us to save it?
Aether: Of course! But first, you must take these, so that everyone will know who and what you are.
Mike: Who's 'everyone'?
Aether: The people of Root Core.
(he then takes out and opens up a chest which bears the symbol of the Mystic Force, and inside, there are the five wands of the Mystic Force.)
(one by one, he hands them to the Rangers.)
Aether: These are your Mystic Wands. They are the key to unlocking your great powers.
Cameron: Powers?
Aether: Yes. You will also each receive one special ability that you will soon learn to control and embrace, and along the way, you may gain new abilities.
Casey: So, that's what makes us special?
Aether: Yes, I mean, after all it is your destiny.
Mike: Yeah, but how are we supposed to show these wands in public?
Aether: Oh, right! You live in a modern city. Utum Zore!
(the spell turns the wands into their Mystic Morphers.)
Aether: I thought that you and the rest of the young people of today would like that.
Mike: Cool!
Aether: These are, of course, now your Mystic Morphers. They will allow you all to take on the form of the legendary Power Rangers Mystic Force.
Daniel: Power Rangers?
Aether: Yes, Daniel. The Power Rangers. Your Mystic Morphers also contain spell codes, and along the way, you will discover new ones capable of great things.
Casey: So, how do these work?
Aether: Well, they will only work if you truly believe in magic.
Daniel: Magic? You mean as in card tricks and illusions?
Aether: No, I mean as in spells and potions. The main thing about it is to believe.
Daniel: Well, you can count me out, because there's no such thing as magic.
(he puts down his morpher and walks away.)
(there are screams outside, and Aether's clumsy assistant and sorceress in training, Celeste, comes rushing in with news.)
Celeste: Aether! Master!
Aether: Celeste, what is going on? What's happening in the village?
Celeste: The village is under attack! They need help!
Cameron: Yes! This gives us to chance to morph up and show them what we're made of! I believe in magic!
Casey: I believe in magic!
Mike: I believe in magic!
Anna: I believe in magic!
(a flash of light appears and they have changed into their Mystic Force uniforms.)
Aether: Come on, Rangers! There's no time to lose!
(they all exit from the lair and see that the village is under attack from the Hidiacs.)
Casey: What are those things?
Aether: Hidiacs; soldiers of the Underworld.
Mike: Come on guys; let's Ranger up!
(the Rangers all stand their ground, pull out their morphers and transform.)
Rangers: (they type in the spell code 1-2-3, and say) Magical Source, Mystic Force!
Galwit Mysto Ranger!
(Mike morphs into the Green Ranger.)
(Casey morphs into the Pink Ranger.)
(Anna morphs into the Blue Ranger.)
(Cameron morphs into the Yellow Ranger.)
Mike: Strong as a tree, Green Mystic Ranger!
Casey: Ever-changing as the wind, Pink Mystic Ranger!
Anna: Fluid as the sea, Blue Mystic Ranger!
Cameron: Fast as lightning, Yellow Mystic Ranger!
(the Rangers then successfully fight off the Hidiacs and everyone cheers.)
Casey: Whoa!
Cameron: That was awesome!
Mike: We're like superheroes!
Anna: Yeah, it was fun.
Casey: But, Aether, why didn't you help us?
Aether: I'll tell you once we're inside the lair.
(they go back into the lair, and Aether tells them why he could not fight.)
Aether: I did have magic before, during the great battle, but after a fight with a traitor who I believed to be one of my closest friends, my powers were gone.
Casey: Just like that? But, how?
Aether: During the fight, our powers collided and they vanished in a puff of smoke. I thought my powers were bound, but they were gone. And now, I don't know how I will ever get them back.
Cameron: Don't worry, Aether. You'll get them back.
Mike: Yeah, and hopefully, Daniel will believe in magic soon.
Aether: I hope so.
