That night Gajeel went straight home and started packing what little and unimportant belongings he had. Because it was that night that Gajeel had decided that he was going to give up on Levy forever. He never wanted to see her again, smell her again, or even think about her ever again. And for those painful thoughts to go out of his mind he had to go out of the country. But first he had one last job to do. Unfortunately for him he could not do the job himself, in fear that the last amount of magic he ever uses, will turn him into a dragon forever. He was already almost covered in iron scales, and he could feel horns start to grow into his skull. So the only person he could trust with this job, to even be able to get it done, was Natsu.

"I mean I don't mind doing this for you Gajeel, but I don't understand why you can't do it," Natsu groaned as he followed Gajeel to the train station.

"Don't worry about it," Gajeel snapped, he knew that was the problem with Natsu, he could not keep a secret.

They had finally gotten to their destination, which took nearly a week to get to, and Gajeel had to bare through being with Natsu the entire time, and both of their motion sickness. Anyways they had arrived at the cave that Gajeel was certain was his capturer was dwelling.

Gajeel was imprisoned in an incubator here, where this mad Scientist tested Gajeel's dragon slayer magic. Making him use his magic constantly, and slowly, and consequently his body reacted to start producing more dragon chromosomes turning him slowly into a dragon.

The two of them proceeded into the cave to find that what seem to have been the remains of cracked open speckled egg the size of a basketball.

"What the hell," Gajeel announced baffled as he crouched over to examine the shells.

"It's a dragon egg," Natsu obviously says as he picks up one of the fissured egg pieces.

Gajeel getting infuriated just snapped, "Of course it is, you fucking dumb ass," How could anyone not smell the obvious dragon smell that was reeking all over the place. In fact, as Gajeel started thinking, it smelt like an Iron Dragon hatched out of this egg. "This asshole, used my genes to make a dragon." Gajeel picked up the dragon egg, as him and Natsu started looking around.

"Where do you think it went?" Natsu wondered as they both starting peering around the area to notice there was no sign that the little baby dragon was still here. Noticing then that what was left of the lab was completely destroyed. Gajeel and Natsu then crept in closer in the depths of the cave, examining the broken up pieces of metal and equipment. Not to mention the bitten off chunks of metal scraps scattered across the ground. As they got closer the scent of human flesh became more pungent to their nostrils.

"God, what is that smell?" Natsu shrieked covering up his nose.

"That dragon killed its creator," Gajeel announced looking all over the crime scene slowly putting the pieces together.

"Where do you think the dragon went?" Natsu asked as they both started getting worried as to where it went off to. "We have to go back and tell everybody."
No. Gajeel promised himself he wouldn't return to Magnolia, or Fiore for that matter. "You go back, I'll try and track the dragon down." Even if it meant using up his last dragon slayer magic and turning into a dragon himself, Gajeel knew it was his responsibility to end it at all costs.

"Alright," Natsu agreed.

However it would only be Gajeel's luck that the teenage dragon head towards the nearest dragon slayers in Fiore.

Meanwhile, Natsu, Laxus, and the gang are off trying to defeat the wild beast.

"Roar of the Fire Dragon!"

"Roar of the Sky Dragon!" The two dragon slayers bellowed towards the now enormous iron dragon.

"It's not working," Wendy sighed as Laxus and Erza tried taking a hit at the dragon. Obviously this Iron Dragon was no Arcnologia but it was almost worthless. Juvia and Grey were out on a mission. Lucy was with Levy taking care of baby, Isabella. And well, the rest didn't really matter.

Laxus later suggested that Natsu ate some of Laxus' lightning, and when he did it also did no good.

"What good is dragon slater magic is it can't even slay a damn dragon!" Natsu cursed as they all fall to the ground devastated that none of their efforts where even making a slight bit's difference.

Eventually after everybody threw anything they could possibly throw at this relentless creature, not only where they all incredibly exhausted but seriously injured.

"What are we going to do?" Wendy asked as the rest couldn't even get up on their feet except, Laxus and Natsu.

Laxus walked up in front of the dragon, "No, not my guild."

"That's right!" Natsu agreed, "We are Fairy Tail! And we never give up!" Natsu looked over at Laxus, "If we give it everything we got, then maybe we'll stand a chance,"

Laxus nodded in agreement, as they each started charging up their attacks. Also that was when the dragon decide to also launch out a final blow.

"Laxus! No!" It was Levy. "Please, it's too dangerous,"

While his hands were overflowing with electricity he shouted back towards Levy, "Why are you out here? Levy you shouldn't be out here," he turned his attention back towards the dragon.

Once Natsu and Laxus had put everything they had together in a final blast they launched it towards the dragon, whom at the same time set off his iron blast.

Elsewhere, Gajeel had finally tracked the dragon all the way back to Magnolia. Once he got back to the town square where the wizards of Fairy Tail were fighting off his DNA replicated monster he realized what was happening.

Laxus and Natsu released the most powerful blast they could muster up together while the dragon unleashed an even stronger move that would surely over power both of their blasts and demolish, the two of them. There would be no way they would survive this. And worst yet two of Fairy Tail's strongest Wizard's would be gone. Levy would be all alone. There was no way in hell Gajeel was going to stand by and let her life be ruined again.

Gajeel knew that this was going to be his only option. Once the iron blast overpowered the fire and electric one, and was heading towards Laxus and Natsu, Gajeel ran out in front of them.

"You're in the way!" he yelled pushing them out of range as Gajeel used what was left of his dragon slayer magic and turned on his iron scales. He absorbed blast, he then could feel himself start to morph into a dragon. The horns on his head grew all the way out, his fangs pierced through the roof of his mouth. Growing a large dragon snout, all with the iron scales, and the original gages he had on his chin and nose. His eyes grew sharp and still blood red. The rest of his body grew into an even bigger iron dragon then the one before them. He felt more powerful, as if he could take on anything, as he extended his wings he charged out towards the dragon.

It was official Gajeel had completely turned into a dragon, all to save Laxus' and Natsu's life not just for the sake of the guild, but for Levy.

Everybody gasped as they all realized what had happened, especially Levy.

"This bastards' mine," grinning Gajeel roared an iron roar, doing very effective damage against this iron dragon. The battle became airborne as both of the dragons were now in the air and exchanging blows at one another. Gajeel easily overpowered the other dragon taking him down almost effortlessly. Once Gajeel let out his last roar, the other dragon started falling out of the sky and landed on the paved grounds of the Magnolia square. Gajeel hovered down to the ground to make sure the dragon was out, once it was he landed back on the ground.

Levy instantly ran out towards him, sobbing she cried, "Gajeel? How could this happen to you?"

Gajeel breathed out, his huge demon eyes not turned at Levy. She was still the same, beautiful, and caring, how could she change.

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you," he mumbled out as Levy got closer to him. Now she was even smaller compared to him.

"But Gajeel, why did you do this to yourself?" she asked him gently as he sat down and she appeared before him. "You gave your human life for us, for Laxus,"

"That's because I love you," he started to get up but Levy grabbed onto his dragon snout. She gently placed her lips on his dragon mouth, and repeated, "Thank you, I love you too,"

Once Levy pulled away, she finally came back. Blinking repeatedly she finally realized what had truly happened. She remembered everything, back when she met Gajeel, to when they fell in love, and him leaving for three years, her becoming depressed and falling for Laxus. Then him coming back and not even knowing him, she was already pregnant and engaged, there was no way in hell, Gajeel still had a chance. And now being a dragon he couldn't.

Gajeel knew it was too late, it didn't matter anymore.

"Because I'd do anything just to make you happy, even if it means my own happiness," he fake smiled as he looked the other way. This was going to be his ending he now had to spend the rest of his life, living as a dragon.

6 Years Later

It would later turn out that Levy would drop off her daughter at a cave where one of the kindest dragons of their era lived. He would teach her iron dragon slaying magic. As Levy would make him chunks of iron, for dinner.

Also Levy, and Laxus did wind up breaking up, even before they actually got married. Their personalities, just didn't click, especially with Levy's love of her life, still being alive. So Levy spent most of her time with Gajeel, despite being a dragon he proposed to her, and made her an iron ring with many diamond in it. She of course said yes.

"Alright, Bells, show me what you got," he said to the fourth generation dragon slayer.
