"I hate my stupid hair!" Alyssa hissed, she yanked the brush through the mess of knots, cursing herself for not having brushed it in over a week, "STUPID HAIR!" She bellowed, stomping her feet. She continued to ferociously attack her hair with the hairbrush; in a similar fashion to a lion trying to kill it`s pray- by biting down on its neck and suffocating it until it dies.

"Are you alright?" Hayley asked slowly. She leaned against the door, watching the screaming child cautiously as she tried to figure out how to help.

"I`m just fine." Alyssa snapped, leaving the brush stuck halfway through her long hair to send Hayley a venomous glare.

Hayley raised her hands in defeat, "Okay- I'm guessing you are not a morning person, are you Alyssa?" she smirked.

"I am, but it is just my stupid hair!" She whined, screwing up her face as she attempted to pull the brush out.

"What the bloody hell is going on?" Rebekah asked, wonder what all the racket was about as she walked into the bathroom.

"Somebody is throwing a tantrum about her hair and will not let me help her." Hayley answered, ducking as Alyssa attempted to throw the hairbrush towards her head.

Alyssa crossed her arms and glared at Hayley, "Or maybe it is because I don`t like you, therefor do not trust you." Alyssa growled.

Hayley picked up the hairbrush and threw it towards Alyssa's feet, "Good because I don`t like you. Also, you're lucky you didn't break the mirror…" Hayley muttered as she left the bathroom.

Rebekah rolled her eyes and walked over to Alyssa, "Do you want me to help you?" Rebekah asked.

Alyssa smiled and nodded, "Yes please." Rebekah was the only one Alyssa would ever trust with her hair; well sometimes her aunts helped out, but that wasn't really a choice at the moment.

Rebekah smiled and sat down beside her, picking the hair brush up off the floor from where Hayley threw it. "Why don`t you like Hayley" Rebekah wondered as she began to gently run the brush the Alyssa's hair.

"I don`t know I just don't?" Alyssa giggled, squirming slightly as Rebekah hit a knot.

"Can you keep a secret?" Rebekah asked quietly, sitting the brush down for a second.

Alyssa nodded, "Yes I can, mom-er-Rebekah." Alyssa mumbled quickly- she had almost slipped up there and said the one word that would give her away entirely. She looked away from Rebekah, trying to avoid eye contact.

Rebekah couldn`t help but blink her eyes rapidly for Alyssa nearly called her mum, why would she do that? Of course she didn't mind though; she couldn`t help but like this little girl… and she could swear Alyssa looked like a miniature version of herself.

"So what do you want done with your hair" Rebekah asked as she pulled through the last of the tangles.

Alyssa lifted her head up slightly and looks into the mirror and just stairs at her reflection, "Two tight fishtail plaits." Alyssa answered with a grin.

"Very well, fishtail plaits it is!" Rebekah smiled and began to part Alyssa's hair for the braids.

In less than a minute Rebekah has finished her hair. Whilst Rebekah was doing her hair, Alyssa watched intently; she'd always loved watching her mother do her hair and then sometimes attempting them herself. Unfortunately Alyssa had never quite mastered fishtail plaits out of all the hairstyles her mother did teach her.

Rebekah gave Alyssa a soft pat on the shoulder and then walked off, leaving her to get dressed. Alyssa opened the door to her bedroom and ran over to the closet to find an outfit. She sighed as she filed through the piles of clothing, every piece of it far too big for her.

She watched Rebekah walk out of the room, she went into the wardrobe and sighed, every clothing item is way too big for her, don`t they know how to raise a little girl or something…oh wait they don`t, do they. She gave up and grabbed what seemed to be the smallest piece of clothing and pulled it on. The material of the green dress hung miles past her feet and the scoop neck sat halfway down her chest. She really needed some new clothes.

Rebekah walked past her, Alyssa scrambled to her feet, lifting the bottom of her oversized dress off the floor as she ran over to Rebekah.

She caught up with her, grabbing Rebekah's hand to stop her, "Where are you going?" Alyssa questioned.

"Out." Rebekah answered shortly, pulling away from the little girl's grip.

"Can I please come?" Alyssa begged, looking up at her with wide puppy dog eyes.

"No." Rebekah snapped. She yanked her hand away from Alyssa's and continued towards the door.

Alyssa ran after her, "Please, I need new clothes!" She pleaded, tugging at the loose material of her borrowed dress for emphasis.

"No you don`t." Rebekah rolled her eyes at the child as she opened the door to leave.

She raised an eyebrow, "Well let`s see, my clothes are too big for me, I have no shoes and…"

Rebekah sighed and looked back down at her, "Ok, ok I see your point." She huffed as she walked out onto the street. Alyssa stood awkwardly beside the opened door, unsure if she was meant to follow her or not.

She watched as Rebekah slid into the car, looking up at Alyssa, "Well are you coming or not?" She laughed, motioning to the seat beside her.

Alyssa's face lit up. She ran down the steps to the car and climbed into the passenger seat, clicking her seat belt on as Rebekah started up the engine.

"Now listen, I have to do a couple of things first before we get you what you need." Rebekah explained.

"I understand." Alyssa nodded, beaming up at Rebekah as she moved to turn on the radio. The song 'Seven Devils' boomed over the speakers, one of Alyssa's favourite songs. As much as she loved it though, it sent shivers down her back at just how closely the song summed up her situation—not that she was trying to kill anyone.

Alyssa sat outside the voodoo shop on one of the benches, tapping her fingers as she waited for Rebekah to re-emerge. She lifted her head in concern as she heard Sophie's muffled shouts from inside. Before she could stand up to check out what all the commotion was about, the door swung open and Rebekah walked out, closely followed by a shocked looking Sophie.

"Alyssa, you're alive?" Sophie gasped.

"Of course I am." Alyssa smirked at the women and rolled her eyes.

"Wait- how do you two know each other?" Rebekah asked slowly, looking between the two confusedly.

Oh shit she has done it now; she is going to make another excuse up otherwise she will have to tell her secret.

Alyssa's eyes widened. She would need to make up another excuse or Rebekah would find out her secret, "I…agh…" She stuttered.

"Well come on spit it out." Rebekah snapped.

"My parents died a week ago… I fainted from exhaustion in the middle of the road somehow, and the next thing I know I wake up in a random house- that just happens to be Sophie`s…" She mumbled. She looked up at Rebekah; she has always been a bit scared of her mother…

"So why did Marcel let you live?" Sophie questioned, her voice sharp as she interrogated the little girl.

"What do you mean by Marcel- Alyssa what are you not telling me?" Rebekah glared, grabbing Alyssa's shoulder.

Alyssa was now truly terrified. Tears ran down her cheeks, she couldn`t hold them in any longer. In the past few days her life had been turned upside down; she'd been drowned by murderous witches, killed two people… she was in a whole other universe- away from her family. Not to mention being tortured by Marcel and escaping the Garden of the Dead.

Rebekah kneeled down beside her, "I`m sorry, I didn't mean to upset you!" She apologised. She wrapped her arms around Alyssa's little body,

Alyssa couldn`t stop herself, she wrapped her arms around Rebekah`s neck and continued to cry in her comforting arms. All she wanted was to be back in her mother`s arms…even though her real mother in another universe… this Rebekah was as close to her real mother that she could possibly get.

Rebekah rubbed Alyssa's back, rocking her softly, "Tell me what happened and I promise I will never let anyone hurt you again." She whispered into Alyssa`s ear.

She pulled back out of Rebekah`s arms and wiped the tears away from her eyes, "I was at the park with my mommy and daddy… It was my mommy`s birthday and the whole family was there. We were cutting the cake when two women dressed in black come over to us and t-they said that if they would hand me over to them … that they would b-be allowed to live…" Alyssa answered quietly, her voice shaking as she tried to keep herself from bursting into tears again. Although the story was a lie, she had still been ripped away from her family.

"Why would they want you?" Sophie wondered, entirely shocked by the story.

"You know why Sophie. I am a witch; the most powerful witch to ever be born." Alyssa sighed. She really didn't trust Sophie, but along as Rebekah is here she knew she would be safe- well hopefully anyway.

"That`s impossible…" Rebekah stated, "but please continue."

"Well, my family wouldn`t let them have me so they tried to protect me… they told me to run and when I came back to see if they were ok…they were all d-dead" Alyssa lied ; a tear rolled down her face as she finished, adding to the sincerity.

"Oh my god, I am so sorry!" Sophie gasped.

"Well long story short; Marcel placed me in the garden as a test I passed. He made Lily, one of his vampire's look after me, but they came back I was in the swimming pool. They killed her and tried to drown me. I tried to protect myself- however I couldn`t control it; they were raised up into the air, their necks were snapped killing them instantly and well you know what happened next." Alyssa explained as she looked into Rebekah`s eyes, eyes that matched Alyssa's in both colour and tears.

"Bloody hell, Alyssa...I…" Rebekah trailed, off not knowing how to finish her sentence.

After this morning's incident, Alyssa had gotten some decent clothes, not only that but brand new furniture for the room she was currently staying in plus a huge plush white fluffy bunny named Cotton. Right now she is curled up in a ball with a blanket around her on the brown leather lounge with a bowl of popcorn on her lap and with Cotton by her side and watching Matilda that currently playing on the plasma screen.

She looked up hearing footsteps coming towards her room. Grabbing the remote, she paused her movie and turned to look over the couch, resting her chin on the back as she waited for whoever had been making their way to her room. A frown crossed Alyssa's face as Hayley entered the room, dressed in an outfit that could only be described as terrible. Alyssa scrunched her nose, taking in the black long dress Hayley wore, the polka-dotted cream hem sweeping around Hayley's squared black boots. The dress was shorter the front and swung low around the back; showing off those unfortunate boots. "I`m just going out for a second…do you think you will be fine for an hour or so" Hayley asks

Alyssa nodded "Yes and can I please come with you" She begs not wanting to be alone right now.

Hayley shakes her head "No…sorry, I will be back soon" Hayley sighed

Before Alyssa could say something sarcastic Hayley walked away, she could hear the front door slam shut with a bang making the mansion rattle slightly. Now she truly was alone in this mansion, she let out a sigh and presses the resume button on the remote and goes back to watching Matilda but is high alert and ready for anything. She does wish however that someone was here with her besides the maids.

Meanwhile in the present New Orleans…

Klaus paced back and forth about his living room; waiting impatiently for the Hybrid to call. He needed to know, he was desperate. As if on demand, the familiar buzzing of his cell phone sounded in his pocket. His hand shot to it, quicker than vampire speed he pressed the answer button.

"WHAT- you found her? Call my brothers; we are going to save her... and kill the basted`s that took my love." His voice was cold as he spat his demand down the phone, but underneath he was falling apart.

He hung up, turning off his phone and sped towards the door. He was going to get her back, he would not stop until his beloved was safe in his arms once again... he wouldn't stop until those who hurt her were dead at his feet. Klaus could picture the basterds dark red blood, spilling around his feet as he laughed. The man would be begging for death before Klaus was done with him.

'Klaus slammed his foot on the acceleration, his car was speeding along far faster than any legal speed limit would allow, once he arrived he stepped out of the car as fast as he can and slams the black car door so hard that it almost falls of the hinges in the process. He storms up to the house with his brothers hot on his heels.

Meanwhile Caroline sat in the far corner of the cell, the only thing that was keeping her going was seeing her beloved torturing the man that is hurting her and coming to her rescue. The man walked up the cell and unlocks it, if Caroline didn`t have so much vervain in her system she would have killed him and ran back to the protection of her family. But she can`t, he walked over to her and pick`s her up by one of her arms and drags her out of the room.

"I THINK YOU ARE PROBABLY GOING TO WANT TO LET ME AND MY BROTHERS IN" Klaus yells from outside on the front deck.

Klaus paced outside uncontrollably, Kol and Elijah stayed put and death glared. The man opens the door.

"Go away" He declares, but before he could close the door, Klaus kicks the door down.

"You will let us in" Klaus compelled

"I will let you in" The man repeated

Klaus charged straight in leaving Elijah and Kol to deal with the man who was stupid enough not to use vervain and hurt his Caroline.

"CAROLINE" He called out as he stormed down the stairs, he could smell his lovers blood as he walked closer to her.

"Nik" Caroline whispered from the cell she was in.

Klaus yanked the cellar door off its hinges, he raced over to Caroline and carefully placed her on his lap; he bit his wrist and placed it on her rosy lips. Caroline latched on and took a couple of sips then pulled away. Klaus stroked her tangled blonde hair gently; he kissed the top of her head and picks her up. Caroline had fallen asleep in his arms as he made his way to the car.

"I`ll drive brother" Elijah declared as he hopped into the driver's seat and started the engine.

Back where Alyssa is starting to believe her own lie…

"KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF HER, SHE IS PREGNANT FOR GODS SAKES" Rebekah yells

Alyssa`s eyes slowly fluttered open, she let out a yawn as she sat up. She was still on the brown leather couch. She picked her fluffy white bunny up and pushed the tangled blankets onto the ground. Still half asleep, she rolled off the sofa and shuffled down the hall, her bunny tucked tightly under her arm. She stopped before reaching the kitchen as the sound of arguing met her ears. Turning around she saw the three adults standing around the doorway.

Curiously, she walked over to see what all the commotion was about, "Who`s pregnant?" She asked, picking up on the general theme of the discussion between the adults.

Rebekah frowned and looked down at Alyssa, "How did you get down here without us noticing?" She asked, half annoyed at the little girl barging in on the conversation.

"I was asleep on the couch…" She answered, "So who`s pregnant?" Alyssa interrogated once more, tilting her head to look up at Rebekah as she waited for an answer.

Hayley stood up straighter "I am." She answered, placing a hand on her belly in confirmation.

Alyssa frowned at Hayley. She glanced at her belly; there was no sign of a pregnancy at all, well as far as her knowledge went anyway.

"Come on let`s get you out of those clothes and into bed." Rebekah sighed, giving Hayley one last look before she walked over to Alyssa.

Alyssa nodded slightly and brought Cotton closer to her chest. Rebekah gently picked her up and carried her up the stairs and to her room. She was too tired to argue, she also knew that she had no chance of winning when it comes to Rebekah. Rebekah pulled back the pink duvets and placed Alyssa on the edge of the bed. She went pulled open on of Alyssa's drawers grabbed a frilly onesie. Alyssa raised pulled off her wrinkled, slept in clothes and held Rebekah's shoulder as she pulled on her pyjamas.

Alyssa climbed under the covers and let out a small yawn, "Mummy…" She muttered as her eyes closed and she began to drift off to sleep.

Rebekah froze; did Alyssa just call her mummy? "Yes?" She answered slowly, deciding to go along with it.

"Can you please sing all the pretty little horses." Alyssa yawned.

Rebekah let out a sigh and walked over to Alyssa`s bed and sat down. She stroked Alyssa`s hair and began humming the tune, singing it lightly under her breathe, "Hush-a-bye, don't you cry, Go to sleep my little baby. When you wake you shall have all the pretty little horses. Black and bays, dapples, grays, All the pretty little horses. Hush-a-bye, don't you cry, Go to sleep my little baby. Hush-a-bye, don't you cry, Go to sleep my little baby. When you wake you shall have… all the pretty little horses…" Rebekah sang softly, she kissed Alyssa's forehead gently before standing up and making her way to the door, closing it softly behind her. As she walked out the door she continued to hum the lullaby… the exact same one her mother used to sing to her…

Oh I do believe
In all the things you see

What comes is better than what came before

And you'd better come come, come come to me

Better come come, come come to me
Better run, run run, run run to me

Better come
