The Final
Sydney woke to the bright sun light shining down on her, opening her eyes carefully she saw Adrian looking down at her lovingly. "You know it's rude to stare?" Sydney yawned.
"Well I'll stop staring when you stop being so beautiful." Adrian whispered, reaching down and plucking a small kiss on her lips. "Feeling any better?" He said, already knowing the answer. She was still Moroi and Sydney wasn't any better because she was still a... aa thing.
"I'll be much better when I'm human again."
"Ah, ah, ah. Now remember you have to accept it before you can go back to becoming a human. And you won't be changing anything with that attitude." Adrian laughed, getting up and stretching his arms. Sydney couldn't help but stare. "I thought it was rude to stare, Sage."
Sydney blushed deeply in reply.
Adrian yawned, smirking, as he left the room. Sydney got up and ready, in what about 30 seconds? She yawned and walked out to the kitchen where she could hear the calories on the frying pan. "Bacon and egg sandwich?" Adrian asked, smiling yet giving a pointed look.
Her mind wasn't think properly, it was racing from the questions bursting on her from last night, as she nodded and slowly devoured the sandwich.
"Adrian... Can I ask you something?" She spoke, waryly, the caution and desperateness in his voice caused Adrian to put down his half eaten sandwich, and take her hand. As she went to open her mouth again, her head went slightly dizzy and light headed all the while feeling nauseous. She felt her head slip back and Adrian pulling at her hand yelling her name.
...
Sydney did know how long she was out for, but when she woke up she almost fell on the floor in the back seat of the Ivashkovinator and Adrian racing down the road. "What happened Adrian? Where am I?" Her first illogical thought was that Adrian was sending her away to the Alchemist, but then she realised that would never happen, then her next illogical thought was that he was taking her away from the Alchemist and had drugged her to do it. The latter was illogical because he would have know to use a stronger drug.
"Oh god, Sydney, you scared the shit out of me? Are you okay? We're on our way to Clarence's?" Adrian practically whimpered, Sydney could see faded tear streaks going down his face. He'd been crying. Over her. A depressing though occurred to her, no-one had ever cried for her before or been emotionally attached enough to her to cry for her.
She was going to Clarence's?
Blood.
"I'm feeling fine, well, as much as I can be. There's no need to go to Clarence's, let's just go back to your apartment." Sydney said, trying to get up, unsuccessfully, and trying to sound as healthy as possibly, once again unsuccessfully.
The next moment, the car pulled to jaded hault and Adrian was carrying her out of the car, bridal style. Sydney squirmed the entire time, trying to get out of his grasp.
As they entered Clarence's home, Adrian yelled 'hi' but no response was given. Adrian rushed Sydney to the kitchen were the feeder was, and sat Sydney down. The feeder, while confused, was still high with endorphins that she got the message and sat down hastly and pulled her shirt to one side, giving a clear path to her pulsing neck.
Sydney stared a moment, one part of her begging desperately to dig her new sharp fangs into the eager, pulsing neck so full of blood waiting for her to spill. Then Sydney, the non-vampire crazed blood addict, came to control and pushed her face away from temptation. The feeder gave a slight whimper of disappointment but sat in the same position.
Adrian knelt down on his knees, placing is hand on Sydney's knees. "Sydney. I'm begging you please, just do what you need to, to survive, it's natural. I do it, and if this can't be changed you have to do it too. Its apart of you at the moment. Please. For me. For yourself."
Sydney didn't know what overcame her in that, she turned faster than she fault she could and stuck her teeth deep into the feeders neck, drinking. Adrian was right, in a way, it felt natural. It felt good. Really good, she imagined this is what sex felt like, maybe this was better.
She could instantly feel the weight of her body disappear, her health regain her, and her cheeks become full and flush rosy. She felt better than ever, she never want it to st-.
At that moment hands pulled her away from the source of happiness she was feeling, she felt like killing the person dragging her away, did they not understand the way she was feeling? Or was it just they understood too well?
"You can't drink anymore." Adrian said, cautiously, "Are you feeling better?"
Sydney, while still high on the happiness, replied "Yes, thank you." Adrian gave her another look, before coming to the conclusion to believe her. "I'm slightly tired now."
"Well, I can solve that," He said, slyly, winking.
She wacked him.
"What? I just meant old man Clarence is out and he has a spare room? You can rest in there." She nodded, still giving him a silent glare.
He picked her up bridal style and carried her into the spare room, she didn't have to strength or the energy to argue, "You know one of these days, you'll be in a wedding dress while I do this, and I'll have the biggest smile on my face." She didn't know how to react, it wasn't in her genetic makeup, or her DNA or the thousands of textbooks she read, the only thing that slightly resembled this is when she was assigned to read Pride and Prejudice. "You don't have to answer, I know the speech ' It's wrong, it can't happen, I'm an alchemist and your an Moroi."
"Adrian... Lie with me?" She snugged under the covers and pushed her body closer to his in small movements. Yawning she whispered, "Do you want me to stay this way? Be a Moroi, no shame, no judgement of being with a human, no Alchemist, well manly. I can be this way for you, if you want me to change I can. I don't think I can ever accept being this anyway, but if you want me too, I'll try."
"You don't understand at all do you?" He whispered so lovingly, it almost broke her heart, "You never have to change for me, if you make a decision that's going to affect you life, YOU need to make it. I love you the way you are, or anyway you choose to be, the fell in love with the nerdy, beautiful, unique witch Alchemist human that I met when you first came here. To be honest with you, when I saw you when you were saving rose, I think my heart pumped a few extra beats but I just rod it off as heart problems from alcohol or drugs. But if you choose to become a Moroi, I'll help you through and love you just the same. You'll be my nerdy, beautiful, unique witch probably not Alchemist Moroi. All that's changing is your race."
Sydney started to cry.
She didn't know how else to handle, what beautiful words were just spoken about her, she'd never had anything like that to her by anyone but Adrian.
She pressed her lips to his; desperately trying to show his and force the feeling she felt of that moment on to him, the love, overwhelming happiness, the speechlessness. She loved him.
"I." Kiss, "Love," Kiss, "You."Kiss.
She felt her eyes close and a feeling come over her, she assumed it was the love she was pouring out of her chest but as she opened her eyes again she saw a tan come over her hand, saw it shirk slight in size. The spell was reversing.
She understood in that moment what had happened, there is no greater way to accept yourself than the person you love to accept you unconditionally. For anyone too really, love is the greatest acceptance there can be. Because what is purer and more natural?
