No POV
The three adults and one infant stay at the bottom of the stairs, a smile growing on each of the adult's faces as they stare at the other two girls, a relaxed look on the half-Latina's and pale Goth's faces.
After watching the two on the couch, the three adults make their way into the living room, David and Blake taking Tori's other side while Sam and Cat take the other couch, staring at the other girls with smiles on their faces.
"Feeling better?" David asks his daughter, handing her Blake.
"Yeah. A little bit." Tori admits, giving Jade a small smile. "Sorry we kinda prevented you from using your own living room." She says, turning her attention to her dad.
"That's okay. I'm just glad you're feeling better." The eldest Latino says to his daughter.
The five adults make small talk while they sit, the mood lightening as time passes. After a few hours of time passing, Sam and Cat leave, heading to their respective homes for the night, telling the other girls that they'll be there in the morning to bid farewell to them before their flight back to New York.
A few hours later, Tori and Blake are in Tori's old room, a crib put by the bed for Blake, as Jade sleeps in the spare room, on an air mattress David put in for her to sleep.
After a few moments of unrestful sleep, Jade gets up and heads into Tori's room and rests beside her, the half-Latina smiling at Jade as she pulls the blanket over herself and Jade.
The next morning, Tori wakes up to an empty bed, and her son sleeping in his crib still. Waking up and stretching, Tori gets out of bed and goes to check on her son, changing his diaper when she smells that he needs it.
A few minutes later, after putting a new diaper on Blake and redoing his onesie, Jade enters the room, fresh from the shower.
"Hey. David's making eggs, sausage, and bacon for breakfast." Jade says, drying her hair, as she puts her dirty clothes in the suitcase she brought with her.
"Thanks. What time is it?" Tori asks, setting Blake back in his crib.
"A little after 8:30." Jade answers, grabbing her comb and toothbrush. "Shower's open if you need it." She says, combing her partially wet hair.
"Thanks. Keep an eye on Blake for me?" Tori asks as she grabs a change of clothes from her suitcase and heads towards her door, to head to the bathroom.
"Of course. We'll be downstairs. I'll leave your suitcase here so you can pack it." Jade says, carefully picking up the sleeping infant and heading towards the door.
"Okay. See you soon." Tori says, opening the door and giving Blake a kiss on the forehead as she lets Jade pass her.
About fifteen minutes later, Tori walks down the stairs, suitcase in hand, and sets it beside Jade's behind one of the couches. Walking into the kitchen, she sees her son awake and being fed formula by Jade, a plate of scrambled eggs, some sausage, and a few strips of bacon in front of her, and a plate of matching food on Blake's other side, a cup of coffee with Jade and orange juice for Tori.
"All packed?" David asks, his plate near empty.
"Yep. Everything's packed." Tori says with a small smile as she takes the seat and starts to eat, leaving Jade to feed the infant.
"Where are all of Blake's stuff?" David asks, noting only two carry on bags and the diaper bag. But due to the size of the bag, he wonders where Blake's clothes and toys fit since the bag was relatively small.
"In our bags." Jade says when Blake pushes the bottle away, apparently full. "We figured it'd be easier to put his clothes with ours, so we would have less to carry."
A few hours later, and the two women and the infant are dropped off at the airport, David going in with them until they board the plane.
A couple hours later, the plane takes off, a wide-awake Blake looking out the window from his mother's lap, smiling and laughing.
"That wasn't a bad trip. Other than the hospital, which looks like Blake is already fine, it was an easy-going trip." Jade states as they gain altitude.
"Yeah. The whole intervention-type thing that Cat set up was kind of heavy though." Tori says, looking at Jade.
"Heavy, but important." Jade says, nodding in agreement. "I know it's still too soon, and I do want to take it slow, but what do you say to going out on a date with me next Friday?" Jade asks, locking eyes with Tori.
"I would love that." Tori says, smiling at Jade.
Short, I know. Next chapter will hopefully be longer. It will also be a time jump. It'll focus on the date.
Thank you for reading, and see you next time.
Blessed Be.
