A/N: I decide to turn this into a bunch of oneshots. I mean, why not? I also decided to do a Halloween Special. This was originally gonna be an Aliens crossover, but I decided not. I hope you enjoy. It may not really be Halloween, but here you go any way.
Beware the Queen
The tunnel was small, and suffocating. The damp air was more like ice, and the slime and gore covered walls brought a horrifying stench. Another hound like creature launched at Spyro. The purple dragon threw himself against the wall, lashing out with his paw and pinning it to the ground. With his tail spade, broken so that the top of it was a thorny crown, he slammed it against the creature's side. There was spurt of blood that covered Spyro's face and side, adding another layer to the dry blood that was caking him. The creature struggled viciously, thrashing against the spade that was puncturing its side. Its lower and upper jaws spilt into mandibles, and it screeched up at Spyro. Its spittle coating the purple dragon's deeply cut face.
Spyro was merciless as he jammed his forearm into the creature's mouth, and then began to force his hand into its throat. When the creature started to convulse, and when Spyro felt the first waves of bile coat his paw, he lit his forearm on fire. The creature sounded its hellish screech, it convulsions increasing till it finally fell still. Spyro removed his paw, walking through the tunnel again. His broken wing dragged along the ground, as the shredded membrane of his other wing slowly dripped blood. A scarlet trail to his last encounter.
Spyro stepped down, his foot sinking into several inches of something. From the smell, he knew what it was. The skeletons sticking out made part of it evident. He continued to walk, his feet landing in the putrid flesh of these creatures many kills through how-ever many years they have been here. It stuck to his feet, making a disgusting squelch as he moved through the section of cave. He passed through it, his resolve only strengthened.
He remembered the begging voice of the dragon that lead them here. "Beware the queen, beware the queen!" He said as these creatures dragged him away from Spyro. The last he heard of his guide was the tearing squelch of him being torn apart. He remembered the terrified screams of the guards that he and Cynder brought with them as they were, too, dragged into the darkness one-by-one, and torn asunder. And he remembered, and shivered, as he remember his beloved Cynder being dragged away. But, he remembered the guide tell him that she was to be fed to the queen.
"Beware the Queen, beware the queen!"
Spyro continued his slow limp, his left hind leg giving him trouble. Mostly because of the massive and cauterized wound stretching all the way down his hind quarter. Cauterized by himself, of course. He had no idea how long he had been stuck down in these caves, or where he was, or how to get out. All he knew were two things. Where to find Cynder, and the death of the queen would make ever creature very ticked. He didn't care. Spyro would fight through Malefor and all his armies to keep Cynder's health sound. Only, he wouldn't be fighting grublins, but these hellish hounds. But once more, he didn't care.
The blood loss was staring to affect Spyro, almost as much as the beasts that were constantly flinging themselves at him. He must be close. Their devotion to their queen was as strong as Spyro's to his lovely black mate. Did he at all care about that bond? That he would sever that crucial and loving bond between these creatures and their queen? He didn't care or even give to smallest grain of sympathy to the things that have harmed Cynder.
Another creature launched at Spyro. The purple dropped his head, then threw it up and reared up at the same time, sending his horns deep in to the creature's chest. There was a second creature, biting deep into his hind paw and trying to drag him away. Spyro removed his horns from the first hound and turned to the other, lashing out with his other hind paw and sending it stumbling a bit with a loud yelp. Spyro twisted around quickly and grabbed the hound's head, slamming its jaw into the ground. He reached over and tore out one of the many spines on its back, using the spike to rapidly stab the creature in the throat. It gurgled blood through the many holes as it tried to wheeze out a cry of pain. Spyro cast it mercy, in the form of an earth-energy coated paw being stomped onto its skull. Spyro walked on, not feeling the shard of skull imbedded into his paw.
Eventually, after many encounters with the hounds, the tunnel began to become much larger, the roof sloping up till Spyro eventually came to a large cavern. The stalactites and stalagmite made him feel like he was caught in a massive mouth. He heard to growl and smelled the stench of the creatures as they slowly stalked from behind the many spiky stalactites. The growled at him, some of their jaws splitting to roar at him, but none made an attempt to attack him. So he continued to walk. And he stopped when he saw Cynder, wrapped in a slimy and crusty substance.
"Cynder!" He cried, moving to run to her. He stopped when a massive creature slowly walked in front of Cynder. It stared at the purple dragon before walking to Spyro. It stopped in front of him, staring down at him. Its jaws slowly spilt, showing off the many rows of jagged teeth as it let out the loudest roar that Spyro had ever heard. He recoiled a bit, not phased as the creature's spittle and a mucus like substance burst from the creature's maw, coating him. It stopped roaring and closed its mouth, staring at Spyro. The purple dragon realized this was the queen, and she was in between him and Cynder. Possibly the most dangerous place to be right now.
"Well," Spyro began as he raised his paws and wiped some slime from his face. ""Ello, beasty." Spyro said, launching himself at the queen, fire leaking from his jaws as the queen reared on her hind paws.
Beware the Queen, Beware the Queen!
A/N: Yep. I end here. Cause I feel like it,a nd I think it is best. I didn't describe the creatures, cause I felt like they would be scarier if you imagined what they looked like. I hop this give you a bit of a chill, not really scary though... Any way, I hope you have a nice rest of the night.
