I know I suck at updating regularly, but here's a new chapter of Adopted.
I don't own anything but the plot...
"So" Ragnor Fell said, looking directly at Alec. "Where do we start?"
Alec looked down at the carpeted floor. It was a dark green. Huh? He though. No surprise there. He forgot why he agreed to do this again. Was it to get better for Magnus? Was it to get better for himself? Was it to make Jeffery shut up? Was it to make his dead parents proud? Was it to make Vicky stop worrying?
He didn't know, and it was standing to make his head hurt.
"Alexander." Jeffery said. "Answer Mr Fell's question."
"No, no" Mr Fell said, "It's alright let the boy take his time."
Jeffery sighed and crossed his arms over his chest. "As long as he doesn't take up too much time." Jeffery muttered.
Alec kept looking down at floor hoping that not participating in this stupid doctor's appointment will get him out of here quicker. Magnus squeezed Alec's hand a little and Alec's heart fluttered nervously in his chest.
Stop being stupid, Alec. The little voice said. Magnus probably just want you to hurry up so he can get out of here, quicker so he can talk to his real friends.
"Alec shook his head softly trying to get the little voice out. Magnus must've noticed because he spoke up, "It's okay Alec, your doctor, therapist guy thing said that you can take as much time as you want, It's okay."
Alec looked up quickly and saw the therapist looking at him with and interested expression, Alec quickly looked back down at the floor and avoided the therapist's gaze.
"Alec," Magnus whispered softly, just low enough for Alec to only hear, "Ignore the little voice, it's just stupid."
Alec nodded but continued looking down at the floor. "Alec." Jeffery said after a few more minutes of silence, "you're being silly, start talking."
Alec flinched at Jeffery's tone of voice; it scared him and reminded him about to many things that happened at the orphanage.
"Mr Bane," Mr Fell said, calmly. "Why don't you take you and your son Magnus, outside for a walk or fresh air or something? Alec might feel much more comfortable without you two in here."
"Fine." Jeffery said coldly, "Magnus get up please."
Magnus stood up. fear gripped Alec, he didn't want Magnus to go he wanted Magnus to stay with him. The therapist was a little creepy. Alec grabbed onto Magnus's hand and pulled him back down onto the seat.
"Alec let go of Magnus's hand" Jeffery said.
"I want Magnus to stay." I mumbled quietly, "I want you to go and Magnus to stay."
Jeffery sighed, "I'm not leaving Magnus in here with you."
"Mr Bane." Ragnor said, "If Alec wants Magnus to stay let him stay, Alec must feel more comfortable talking to me with Magnus in the room to give him support."
"I give Alec support." Jeffery said, crossing his arms over his chest.
"But not the right kind of support, Mr Bane" Mr fell said, "You try and force Alec to talk to you or to other people, it's not very nice."
Jeffery huffed. "I'm not going anywhere."
"Mr Bane, you're being childish please exit the room for a little while." Mr Fell said calmly gesturing towards the door.
"Fine," Jeffery stood up and walked out of the room slamming the door shut behind him.
"He's very childish isn't he?" Mr Fell asked, raising an eyebrow.
"You have no idea." Magnus said. "Oh wait you meant for Alec to answer that. Sorry."
Mr Fell laughed, "Magnus that's okay."
Magnus nodded and smiled at Mr Fell.
"So Alec," Mr Fell said, "What do you want to talk about?"
"Nothing," Alec said.
"Come on, Magnus's dad is out of the room, you can talk." Mr Fell said.
"I really don't want to," Alec said. "I really don't need to talk actually, I'm fine."
"From what Jeffery has told me, you're not." Mr Fell said.
"I'm fine," Alec mumbled.
Magnus looked at Alec and Alec looked away.
"Alec." Mr Fell said. "Our time is just about up, so if there's anything you want to say, say it now."
Magnus leaned down and whispered into Alec's ear, "You don't have to say anything."
"I'm not going to say anything." Alec mumbled,
"Are you sure about that?" Mr Fell said.
"I'm sure." Alec said, standing up.
Magnus stood up after him, "Well I guess we'll be going then."
Alec made his way to the door. "I'll see you next week Alexander," Mr Fell said after him.
"No you won't" Alec mumbled, grabbing the door handle and pulling it open.
"By Mr Feel" Magnus said.
Alec walked out of the room and walked down the hell. He heard Magnus behind him, his shoes were clicking against the polished tiled floor.
"So," Magnus said, "I don't suppose you'll give the therapist guy another shot?"
"I don't see why I need to go there." Alec said, "I get that I need to get better, but I don't see how some green guy can help me with my issue."
Alec felt Magnus's arm wrap around his shoulder and he leaned his head on Magnus's shoulder. "It's aright Alec." Magnus whispered. "You don't need your problems to be solved right away, not many problems are solved right away anyway, just give it some time."
Alec nodded and closed his eyes. He just wanted to go home and sleep, hopefully with Magnus by his side but he knew that stupid Jeffery won't let them.
"There you two are1" Jeffery yelled from the end of the hall.
Alec groaned softly and opened his eyes. He saw Jeffery walking towards them. "Let go of Alec Magnus," Jeffery hissed. "people will think you to are together."
"So?" Magnus asked.
"You're brothers." Jeffery said.
"No we're not" Magnus said.
Jeffery huffed, "we're not talking about this here." He turned to Alec, "Did you talk to Mr Fell at all?'"
"No." Alec answered.
Jeffery sighed an drubbed his temples. "Good thing I've already booked another appointment for you."
"I'm not going to it." Alec said, crossing his arms over his chest.
"You're going." Jeffery said. "I've already paid for it so you're going and you're going to talk to Mr Fell."
"No I'm not." Alec said.
"You're going." Jeffery said, "Now come one we're going home."
Alec sighed and looked up at Magnus who gave him an apologetic look. They followed Jeffery out of the doctors and walked out into the parking lot.
"Maybe you can get out of it" Magnus said ad the neared the car.
"Yeah sure, I probably won't." Alec mumbled, walking up to the car door and opening it.
He slid into the seat and buckled himself in. Magnus did the same once he sat down in the seat next to him. The car started and they drove off back home, and Alec realised that they were using the back roads once again.
Jeffery's probably using the back roads so you don't freak out again. The little voice said. He probably just doesn't want to deal with it all because he hates you.
Alec wrapped his arms around his body and leaned his head on car window. He looked out of the window, he kind of wished that they didn't take the back roads, he wants to see the site of the crash again just to remind himself that he's here=re and they're not.
He felt Magnus's hand rest on his thigh and he looked at Magnus and smiled weakly.
"We're almost home." Magnus whispered, "do you want to watch a movie or something? We could watch the Loin King again."
Alec nodded his head, "Okay, but not The Lion King you have to choose what we watch this time."
Magnus smiled an squeezed Alec's leg softly, "Alright, but I must warn you that you probably won't like my taste in movies."
Alec smiled a little more and small laugh escaped his lips.
Jeffery pulled the car to a stop in front of the house and Alec got out of the car and walked up to the front door, Magnus was right behind him.
Jeffery unlocked the door and Alec and Magnus walked inside, Alec could smell something cooking.
"I wonder what Mum's cooking." Magnus said, Alec guessed that he was thinking aloud. "Smells like roast, but I bet you it's spaghetti."
Alec snorted and shook his head at Magnus, "I think it'll be roast."
"You're probably right." Magnus said, smiling at Alec.
"Go do your homework Magnus, I need to talk to Alec." Jeffery said, butting into there conversation.
"I've already done my homework." Magnus said.
"Well then just go to your room." Jeffery said.
"But I want to talk to Alec" Magnus said.
"I need to talk to Alec, Magnus, it's important so go to your room and don't come out until I tell you." Jeffery said, pointing at the stairs.
Magnus sighed, "I'll talk to you when you're done here, kay Alec?"
Alec nodded "sure, why don't you pick out a movie as well or something?" Alec said, "because you know you said we'll watch a movie… you know what you don't have to, juts ignore what I just said."
Magnus smiled, "It's cool I'll pick out a movie from my personal collection in my room."
Alec nodded and smiled.
"Go to your room Magnus." Jeffery said.
Magnus sighed and turned around. Alec watched as he walked up the stairs. Jeffery grabbed Alec's arm and pulled him into the empty lounge room. Alec briefly wondered were his siblings were.
"Why won't you let us and Mr Fell help you?" Jeffery asked. "Why, We've done everything for you! We've feed you, clothed you, gotten you into a school!." Jeffery's face was turning a little red, "Why won't you let us help you?"
Alec just shrugged, "I'm fine, I don't need help."
"You need help Alec." Jeffery said, "You tried to kill yourself, you don't eat, you're messed up in the head!"
"I'm not messed up!" Alec said, getting a little mad, "I am not messed up!"
"You are!" Jeffery hissed. "You have a little voice telling you what to do to yourself!"
"So?" Alec asked.
"IT's not right, of course people have little voices in the back of their head telling them what to do but nobody has one like you." Jeffery said, pointing at Alec, "You're messed up in the head."
"I'm going upstairs." Alec said, turning around and walking out of the room before Jeffery could see him cry.
The little voice was laughing, You are messed up, you know Jeffery is right.
Alec hit the side of his head with his hand trying to get the voice to stop but it wouldn't.
You're messed up and you need to see a leprechaun for help. The little voice said, If you just killed yourself when you had the chance you wouldn't have to deal with all this.
Alec walked up the stairs taking two at a time and he was whispering for the voice to shut up.
Maybe you could try again you know. The little voice said, I've already given you some suggestions why not go with one of them.
Alec walked past down the hallway to where the bedrooms were muttering shut up.
I think Isabelle has a bottle of sleeping pills in her room, you know because she can't get to sleep properly, why not go in there and get them for yourself you know take one or two or all of them.
"Shut up!" Alec screamed hitting his head against someone's bedroom door. Alec heard another door open behind him.
"Alec" Magnus whispered.
Alec felt tears forming in his eyes and he felt Magnus's warm hands grab his shoulders and pull him away from the door and turn him towards him. Alec looked up at Magnus and he felt something run down his face.
"You're bleeding, come on let me clean you up." Magnus whispered, brushing his fingers across Alec's forehead.
Alec whimpered and nodded. Magnus guided him to his bedroom and sat Alec down on the bed.
At least the little voice had stopped.
