AN: Hey guys, I know it's been such a long time since I've updated; and to tell you the truth I completely forgot I had this story on my laptop. So here I am, updating it now. This is the last chapter of this year, and I was wondering if I should make a completely new fanfic for the next part of Chloe's story? Please let me know how that sounds.

Chapter 14

End of School

I woke up laying on a very comfortable bed. Slowly I opened my eyes to find myself in the Hospital Wing. I turned my head from side to side to discover Harry was in the bed next to me. Smiling to myself, I slowly sat up in my bed. I guess we didn't die at the hand of Voldemort.

I nearly screamed when I saw Dumbledore sitting at the edge of my bed. I hadn't felt him sitting on my bed, so I wasn't expecting to see anyone there. I also noticed a bundle of sweet on the table next to me. There were notes from Pansy, Hermione, and some other fellow peers wishing me well.

"It is nice to see that one of you are awake." Dumbledore smiled down at me.

"How long have we been in here?" I asked looking around to make sure there wasn't anyone else in the room.

"About a week, you guys missed finals," he let out a small laugh. "Don't worry, I had that all taken care of." He added when I opened my mouth to say something.

"So do I need to take the finals still?" I asked.

"No, I gave you and your brother both passing grades."

"Which means?"

"You both got 100% on all the finals."

"Oh, well thank you." I smiled feeling a little relieved. At least I wouldn't have to worry about catching up on schoolwork.

There was a moaning sound coming from the bed to the right of me. I turned to look, and sure enough it was Harry waking up. He sat completely up before he opened his eyes, then he looked around the room his eyes finally falling on me.

"Chloe, what happened?" He asked groggily.

"Well you passed out after Quirrell pushed you, then I figured out that if I touched him, he would blister. After I grabbed his face, something or someone pulled him away from me and I passed out. Next thing I know we are here." I explained quickly. "Professor, what saved us?" I asked turning to Dumbledore.

"I did." He said simply.

"Why was Voldemort there, what did he want?" I still had so many questions. "Why us?"

"These are questions that need to be answered at another time Chloe." Dumbledore answered. "In the meantime, you both should rest. And I am sure you'll want to see your friends." He stood up and walked over to the sweets on my bedside table. He reached down and grabbed a Bertie Botts Every Flavor Bean. He made a face and said, "Earwax" before saying goodbye and leaving us with our thoughts.

When I heard the door shut behind him, I turned to Harry. "What do you think he means that he'll answer our questions at another time?" I asked.

"No idea." He said shaking his head. "I wonder what Ron and Hermione are doing." He pondered.

Seconds after saying that Ron and Hermione ran through door and to our bed sides. Smiling I gave Hermione a hug laughing.

"It is so good to see you guys finally awake!" she exclaimed hugging me back.

"It's good to see you!" I laughed happily. Then a thought crossed my mind. I wonder what Malfoy is doing right now. I hadn't even thought about him. Shaking my head, I tried to concentrate on what was happening. I quickly got back into the conversation, but we were interrupted by Madame Pomfrey.

"You two are free to go." She said smiling. "The end of school year feast is about to begin, so I suggest you hurry."

Smiling I sprang up from the bed, and quickly went to change my clothes. By the time I got to my dormitory all the other Slytherins were gone. Sighing, I changed into a pair of shorts, and a simple black top. I was hoping to run into Pansy, or Malfoy but it seemed they had already left. I had so much to talk about with them.

Hurrying out of the dungeon, I ran to the Great Hall. Stopping just before the doors, I caught my breath and calmly walked in. People were still walking around finding seats and chatting to one another. Smiling with relief I walked over to the Slytherin table to find Malfoy and Pansy.

I easily spotted them sitting at the usual spot, it seemed like they were having an intense argument, and I approached cautiously. I didn't want to be on anyone's bad side today, and I really didn't want to have a fight in front of a crowd.

Pansy saw me first and she smiled. That was good, she isn't mad at me. I smiled back and quickly walked to her. She stood up and gave me a hug.

"How are you?" she asked. "We heard what happened."

"I'm doing a lot better!" I laughed. "How do you all know what happened?" I asked while I glanced down at Malfoy to see he wasn't looking at me.

"News spreads like wildfire here. Someone saw Professor Dumbledore carrying you and your brother to the Hospital Wing." Pansy hugged me again, but this time she whispered to me. "He isn't very happy with you, you two should talk later. In private. I tried to calm him down, but he wouldn't listen to me."

I winced a little, and she let go of me. "Come on, let's sit!" She sat down next to Malfoy and left me space to the other side of her.

"Where's Zabini?" I asked looking around for him.

"He's retaking some of his finals tests, along with Crabbe and Goyle." Pansy answered.

I laughed, "Of course he failed some." Pansy laughed with me.

"Attention" A voice called from the front of the Great Hall. It was Dumbledore. "I have a few announcements to make." He smiled down at everyone.

"We need to announce who the house cup winner is, but first we must take recent events into account."

"Ahem," said Dumbledore. "I have a few last-minute points to dish out. Let me see. Yes...

"First - to Mr. Ronald Weasley..."

I looked over to Ron, who went purple in the face; he looked like a radish with a bad sunburn.

"...for the best-played game of chess Hogwarts has seen in many years, I award Gryffindor house fifty points."

Gryffindor cheers nearly raised the bewitched ceiling; the stars overhead seemed to quiver. Percy could be heard telling the other prefects, "My brother, you know! My youngest brother! Got past McGonagall's giant chess set!"

At last, there was silence again.

"Second - to Miss Hermione Granger... for the use of cool logic in the face of fire, I award Gryffindor house fifty points."

Hermione buried her face in her arms; Harry strongly suspected she had burst into tears. Gryffindors up and down the table were beside themselves - they were a hundred points up. "Third - to Mr. Harry Potter..." said Dumbledore. The room went deadly quiet "for pure nerve and outstanding courage, I award Gryffindor house sixty points."

The din was deafening. Those who could add up while yelling themselves knew that Gryffindor now had four hundred and seventy-two points - exactly the same as Slytherin. They had tied for the house cup – if only Dumbledore had given Harry just one more point.

I sighed with relief. We were tied, that's not too bad. Then I realized he hadn't given me any points.

"Finally," Dumbledore said quieting the crowd once more. "To Miss. Chloe Potter for fighting to the end to save her friends, I award Slytherin house fifty points." I smiled as the Slytherin table erupted with cheers. The crowd stood up around me and lifted me into the air. People were chanting my name over and over again. Smiling I looked around the hall. The other tables clapped politely; however, it was obviously forced.

Once I set back down, and the room had gone quiet again Dumbledore said, "Let the feast begin!"

Food magically appeared before us, and everyone started eating. There was chicken, ham, and turkey to choose from. Not to mention all the side dishes. Mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, roasted vegetables; it all looked so good I didn't know where to start. After the feast, and the crowd was slowly disappearing. I saw Malfoy get up and walk away. I glanced at Pansy, and she nodded encouragingly. I followed him out the Entrance Doors, and into the courtyard.

He stopped randomly and turned to look at me. I noticed there was no emotion behind his eyes, and frankly that scared me.

"Potter." He said calmly.

"Malfoy." I responded; he was no longer using my first name. "Are you okay?" I asked taking a step towards him.

The second I was closer he backed up. "Am I okay?" he said sarcastically. He laughed, but it wasn't his usual laugh, this was cold and broken. "You left, you went and got yourself in danger. You wouldn't let me help you." He started saying to me. "You said you'd be back in the common room, and do you know where I found you?" He started yelling at this point.

"Where?" I asked not moving. I was scared now; I had never heard Malfoy talk like this.

"The Hospital Wing!" He yelled. "I was so worried about you. I thought you were my friend." He turned his head away in disgust.

"Malfoy I am your friend!" I countered.

"No, if you truly thought that way, you would've let me help you. You could have at least told me where you were going, and what you were doing." He said still not looking at me.

"I promised to not tell—" I started explaining.

"You are no longer my friend." He interrupted. "Friends tell each other everything. It's clear to me that you don't care enough about me to tell me when you are going to be in danger." Glaring at me, he walked right past me and into the castle.

I couldn't believe what was happening. I sat down on the steps and cried. I couldn't have just lost a friend. I didn't know what to do. I just sat there and cried for a long time.

After who knows how long, I stopped crying and went back to my dormitory. I packed my things for the next day and went to sleep. I didn't talk to anyone, not even Pansy. I just slept, hoping against hope that what just happened wasn't real, and that Malfoy will talk to me tomorrow.

The next day Hagrid led the first years across the lake on the boats again. I found my brother and decided that on the train ride back I would sit with him. Malfoy was avoiding me like the black plague.

The ride back to London was uneventful, and as we arrived, I had a sense of dread. I was going back to the Dursley's house. Harry and I had to spend an entire summer with them. I was not looking forward to that.

Hermione, Ron, Harry and I walked through the gate together. Harry, Ron and Hermione talked to Mrs. Weasley as I looked around. I saw Malfoy leaving with his father, by the looks of it.

"Ready to go?" I heard a voice. It was Uncle Vernon.

"Yeah," I said walking towards him. "Come on Harry." I called to him.

Hermione quickly said good-bye to me and Harry before we left.

"Let's go have fun with Dudley" Harry grinned at me.

"What do you mean?" I asked smiling.

"Well, they don't know we can't use magic."

Grinning the both of us walked with a little spring to our steps.
