Ariel covered her mouth, trying not to scream and wake everyone. She turned off the water and grabbed the side of the tub. Ariel lifted herself and her new tail out of the tub and on to the floor.

This couldn't be happening. Mermaids didn't exist. Yet here she was, staring at the tail flopping around on the ground. Ariel threw her shirt on and wrapped the towel around her waist and tail. Then, somehow, she managed to get to her bedroom and her computer.

Ariel pulled herself onto the chair and opened up her Google browser. She typed in 'how to turn back from a mermaid to a human'. Hey, it was worth a shot.

Ariel slammed her head down on her desk when none of the links helped. Suddenly, her tail split in two and gave way to her legs once again. Relived, Ariel for dressed Quickly and spun around the room in victory... until she fell into her desk.

"Well that hurt. " Ariel said, rubbing the back of her head. She stood up. "Now all I have to do is stay dry and...away from...water. NO!" Ariel flopped down on her bed and groaned. Swim tryouts were on Monday. She had finally managed to get the pool to herself on Sunday, and she couldn't go thanks to this stupid mermaid thing!

Ariel stared up at the ceiling for an hour before she heard a soft tapping noise. She looked around her room ans spotted her beloved fish, Flounder, tapping his nose against the glass of his fish tank.

"Sorry Flounder." Ariel said, walking over to the tank, " I guess with what just happened, I forgot to feed you." She ggrabbed the food from the top of the tank and threw some of it in. Flounder nipped at it happily. Ariel laughed.

"I guess I should get myself some food too." And she left the room.

On the other side of town, Belle had just woken up. She headed down stairs, expexting to greet her father. What she found instead was a note.

"Belle," she read, "I've left early for my flight to the convention. I should be back Sunday night. Your father." Belle put the note down on the kitchen counter and yawned. "Well, it looks like I'm alone for the weekend."
