"Marry me, Bella?" Life seemed to just stop for a moment as I let the words sink in. Marriage was I ready for it? Could I handle it? I stared into Riley's eyes for what seemed like forever and then I spoke,
"Yes." It seemed to take Riley a minute to process what I said before his face broke into a blinding smile and he jumped at me, dragging me off the bed and spinning me around, I laughed at the lunacy of it all before I placed a kiss on his lips and wrapped my arms around his neck, my legs around his waist. I don't know how long we stood like that but I felt something poke me and suddenly remembered that we were naked.
"No! No more, I need food!" I laughed as I jumped down and picked up my silk robe from the hook on the door and walked out into the kitchen. "Hey! What do you want to eat?" I shouted as I looked through the fridge, when I got no answer I shrugged and took out some chicken and rice.
Turning to the stove, I almost had a heart attack when I saw Riley on one knee, "Holy crap! Make some noise or something!" I exclaimed before I noticed the small satin box in his hand, I looked at him questioningly,
"Since I didn't do it properly before..." He trailed off before opening the box, revealing a ring with a platinum band a sapphire nestled in the center, two small emeralds on the sides.
"It's beautiful..." I stated softly before reaching for the ring, Riley grabbed my hand and took the ring out before placing it on my finger. Tears pooled in my eyes and I pretty much fell into him, blubbering like a baby.
"I love you..." Riley said before kissing me on the forehead. I couldn't reply, not with all the tears streaming down my face and my irregular breathing so I let out a choked laugh and hugged him hard.
Riley picked me up and started spinning in circles, laughing as he did, he stopped after about five spins and deftly spun me so I was on his back. He carried me into the kitchen and sat me on the counter.
"So, what would my Fiancee like for breakfast?" He asked, a massive grin on his face, his eyes shone with happiness and love; I almost couldn't take it and I hoped my face shone just as brightly as his did.
"Your Fiancee, would like pancakes!" I replied, a cheesy grin situated itself on my face, Riley nodded chuckling and went about getting the ingredients. I stayed on the counter, watching him cook, making food had always been a comfort to him and me, that's just one of the reasons we worked so well.
We could relate, both of us came from slightly neglectful homes; not in the sense of being ignored and not taken care of, but in the ways that, our parents weren't around a lot, my father being a police chief and his mother and father business man and lawyer, they were always at work; court hearings, chasing robbers, making deals etc... RING RING RING RING RING RING RI- the shrill ringing of the telephone probe me out of my musings.
I hopped off the counter and went to answer it, "Hello?" it was quiet for a moment before I heard the faint noise of someone breathing...
"Hello?" I tried again, but got the same empty reply, goosebumps popped up on my arms and I shivered involuntarily, there was a bang on the other end of the phone before it went silent and the tell tale beep of a disconnected phone sounded. I slowly put the phone down, like I was afraid it would bite me if I moved too quick.
"Who was that?" Riley's voice sounded, making me jump and let out a scared squeal. He stuck his head round the doorway, his face a mask of confusion,
"I-uh, I don't know." I said, my voice quiet, like that of a child.
EPOV:
I woke up to the sound of faint laughter. I rolled over, only to be stopped by a shooting pain coming from my penis. Oh, right. Last nights events came rushing back and I cautiously peeled back the covers to do damage control.
I almost cried. It was an alarming shade of purple and black, I feared it may never work again. I tenderly poked at it, only to withdraw my had quickly by the sheer for of pain that ripped through me. I got up slowly and looked around for some tape. I couldn't let it hang there with this much pain. Eventually, I came across a roll of bandages, they would have to do. I carefully started wrapping the soft bandages around my cock until it looked like it had doubled in width.
I sighed with relief and put a pair of flannel pajama pants on before trudging into the kitchen for some well deserved painkillers. I was stopped, by the tell tale sound of her voice, my curiosity getting the best of me, I picked up a glass and held it to the wall "...Fiancee...breakfast" what? Fiancee? No? No!
She was marrying him!? My rage sky rocketed and I ran for the door, but stopped when I remembered the consequences of being in their apartment unannounced. I thought for a moment, my eyes lazily roaming over the apartment before they landed on the phone.
I rang her number, RING RING RING RING RING RING RI "Hello?" my breath caught in my throat before expelling out of my mouth harshly. I couldn't speak, her voice was so...beautiful. "Hello?" Still, I could not utter a word, in a state of confusion, embarrassment and panic, I put the phone down quickly and prayed she did not know it was me.
I could not wait, my time to change her mind was running out. I quickly dressed and ran to the door, pausing as an orange bottle caught my eye, the words Anti-psychotic stood out like a sore thumb. I grumbled and stormed out my apartment to carry out the next part of my plan.
