AN: Sorry for the long wait for whoever reads this Fan Fic, writers block and little inspiration...
BPOV:
Everything was going pretty smoothly, Riley and I had decided to have the wedding next August, but we had yet to tell anyone of the exciting news; I think Alice had an inkling of what was going on but I wasn't giving anything away.
We hadn't heard much from Edward recently, which was good I suppose, but I couldn't shake the feeling something was coming...
I was busy setting up shop, the mid summer heat making me sweat, my hair was tied up on the top of my head and my cut off shorts were plastered to my legs, my plaid shirt long gone and my tank top slightly darkened in areas where sweat was unavoidable. The heat would have been nice, had Alice not broken the AC last week trying to 'swat at a fly' as she said...
THUD THUD THUD THUD THUD... I was in the back, sorting out deliveries to be sent out and the ones coming in, blaring Rammstein's Pussy but no matter how loud it was, the thudding wouldn't stop, eventually I'd had enough and went to see what the hell was going on.
I was shocked to find Alice running and jumping around the place with a rolled up magazine hitting walls and other surfaces,
"Alice! What the hell are you doing?" I exclaimed, too shocked to laugh at just how moronic she looked.
"This-uh! Stupid fucking...uh! Fly has been pissing me off all fucking day!" Alice response was airy and labored as she spoke, I shook my head and went back into the back-room. I had just finished sorting everything out when a large smash resonated through the shop, causing me to run back up front-just to catch Alice staring dumbly at the magazine and AC-now on the floor and missing pieces.
"Alice...What-" It came out as a whisper and I didn't finish the sentence
"I got the fly" she grinned
Now we had to wait until the end of the month until we could buy a new AC.
The shop was very quiet today, I'd only had one buyer today, but it wasn't bad, we were making more than enough money anyway. The heat was just too much to handle, in a small enough space with open windows, it was still like the inside of a furnace
"Alice! I'm taking a break!" I shouted to the back, picked up my bag phone and purse and left the shop before she could complain about being left alone- she sat in the back most of the time anyway.
The streets were full of people- taking walks, having fun or trying to stay out of the sun- but it was beautiful. I strolled down the street to the nearest Starbucks, walking inside, I thought I was entering yet another type of Heaven, they had Air-con! I almost jumped with joy, but kept my cool and walked up the small line of people waiting to order.
Once I was at the front, the woman behind the counter shot me a look of disgust before trying to cover her expression and plastering a false smile on her face
"Hi! Can I take your order?" she asked all 'smiley'
"Yes. I'll have a large Mocha Frappucino...please" I didn't bother smiling back as I placed my order, I told her my name and went to the waiting station.
I grabbed a straw and started tapping it on the counter as my mind began to wander to the idea of Riley and our future, I glanced down at my ring and grinned to myself, I looked up and noticed my drink had been placed in front of me, I picked it up quickly put the straw in and turned to go. Only to turn into a rock hard chest and spill my drink all over it.
"Oh my god I am so sorry!" I exclaimed as I scrambled to find the napkins, when I did I hurriedly and haphazardly began thrusting the at the chest (thank God it was clearly male) whilst still muttering apologies.
"It's fine, really" the voice was husky and familiar, my actions immediately halted as the voice registered with my mind. Edward. I looked up and stepped back from him, cautious of our proximity.
"Uh right, sorry...about the shirt...again" I mumbled quickly and proceeded to high tail it out of there. I think I ran back to the shop but, I can't really be sure-everything blurred. I heard the bell ding behind be as I ran inside my shop.
"Bella?" Alice shouted, I ignored her and went straight in the kitchen to quench my thirst.
EPOV:
I'd been following her all day, she'd only gone from her home with him to her shop but I knew the heat would have to drive her out some time. And I was right, around 3pm she exited the shop and I started up my engine, ready to drive after her, I let her walk a good distance before setting off and when she stopped I found her in a Starbucks.
I followed her in and sat myself at a table on the other side of the shop but still within my range of her. I took my time to examine her, she looked good, slightly sheen-ed in sweat and her hair on top of her head, her face mostly clear of makeup.
She arrived at the waiting station and I noticed she seemed to be focusing on her finger a lot. What's on her finger?" I couldn't see from my angle and that just wouldn't do.
I quickly got up and moved so I was behind her just as she turned around-spilling her drink all me, she began apologizing profusely until I told her it was fine-then she froze and then ran out the shop. A grin began to form on my lips, she was too cute.
I climbed back into my car- after being hit on by the waitress in the coffee shop as she tried to clean my shirt- and drove to Bella' shop so I could make sure she was okay after her abrupt departure, plus I still hadn't seen her finger...
When I pulled up however, the shop was closed with a note in the door window:
Dear Customers, our shop has closed early due to the heat and lack of air-conditioning as well as one of out two staff becoming ill.
We will be open normally from tomorrow on wards.
Yours, shop manager- Bella.
Closed? Ill? Was Bella okay? I didn't wait to find out, throwing all caution to the wind and speeding back to the apartments to make sure my love was healthy as she was when I last saw her.
The car screeched haphazardly into a space and I all but flung myself out the car and sprinted up the stairs-completely ignoring to elevator. I got to her door, out of breath and panting so I stopped for a moment to catch my breath before banging on her door and all but screaming her name.
The door flung open and I was greeted with Riley instead of Bella; his face was almost comical- going from shock to disbelief to anger
"You!" he shouted before charging me, fist raised and all...
