Sorry for not posting it earlier but my computer is broken, it doesn't want to turn on... stupid thing! So I had to write it all over again. I'll try to post the next one as soon as I can but since it's not my own computer I can't promise anything.
As always I hope you'll enjoy =)
It's been a week now since she's gone. Cara promised her she would find a way, but not matter how hard she tried, she didn't. What could she do against the will of a whole city? She didn't think about Ruby since a long time. The famous Mord'Sith known by all the citizen of Aydindril. And she'd never expected to think about her again. She remembered exactly the first day she met her. She has just been kidnapped and she was afraid. She was being tortured and her little body hurt her so much. She'd heard new girls had already died and she felt her life leaving her slowly. She stopped fighting because the future she saw for her was only darkness. And then she saw her. Ruby was so beautiful, Cara had never seen a woman gorgeous like that. She just smiled at her and told her everything was going to be ok.
"You'll see, after all this has passed, you will live happily here with us. With your new family. Do you want some company tonight Cara?" But the little blonde was too impressed to answer. "Well, I won't let you the choice." She added with a big bright smile. "But your training isn't finished for today. Be strong for me." She whispered in her ear.
And so she did. Because for the first time she wouldn't spend the night alone. She couldn't believe someone like Ruby could be interested by her. She was just a dying little child after all. So she decided to do anything that could please her, to make her smile. She even asked her to do her training to show her her strength. They became closer with time and Ruby once told her she was proud of her for being the strongest of the new girls. Cara was so happy at that time.
But it didn't last more than six months. One day she was gone, without a word. Later she learnt Ruby was in Aydindril for a mission. She waited for her to come back, she continued to be strong so she could show her when she is back. But she'd never seen her again. And when Cara heard she died in Aydindril, she swore one day she would have her revenge.
Cara didn't even notice she was crying. It was the first time she did that for Ruby, because she knew she wouldn't want her to. But she allowed herself to be weak for this time.
"I can't believe it!" said a voice behind her back.
"What the hell are you doing here?" Cara asked as she saw Denee.
"I've been looking for you for two days now and I find you here, totally drunk while she's waiting for you."
"As if you cared..."
"I care about my sister. I understood when you two said goodbye why it's important for her. It's the same reason why Richard isn't here."
"She told you?"
"No you just did. But she's my sister and I can see something's bothering her. Actually it's worst than that, she feels so bad..."
"And because of whom?" Cara rolled her eyes.
"You know I'm right about that. People won't let her be the Mother Confessor if she's with a Mord'Sith."
"Can you tell me why are you here exactly?" Cara asked, clearly upset.
"I'm here because I want Kahlan to be happy."
"What is the matter with you?!" Cara yelled. "You come here to tell me you want her to be happy but we can't be together?!"
"I've never said you two can't be together. I said a Confessor and a Mord'Sith can't be together."
"Well, she's a Confessor and I'm a Mord'Sith."
"Stop being a Mord'Sith and no one will ever know who you were."
"What?! I think you should go now." Cara growled.
"This is the only way Cara."
"I said get out!"
"Alright. I hope she'll forget you soon." Denee said before she left.
'Stop being a Mord'Sith?! Who does she think she is?! I am a Mord'Sith and I'll ever be.'
Cara continued to drink all the day. She wanted to forget all this. One more night in that room where she made love to Kahlan. Where it all began and certainly where it all ends too. Cara tried to feel her warmth but she couldn't. She missed her so much and even her terrible headache couldn't make her forget. She wanted to hold her, to kiss her. She wanted to feel she was hers. And knowing that Kahlan was hurt too by the situation made things harder. Her pain she could handle, but not Kahlan's.
She stood up quickly. Too quickly in fact, she needed to sat on the bed. She looked at it for a little while with a weak smile on her face. One night together, that's all they had. But as Cara slipped her hand on the sheets, she knew that they would have others, even if that meant she stopped to be a Mord'Sith.
Cara smiled to herself. 'Wait for me, I'm on my way!'
Before she left, she bought new cloths. She couldn't wear her leather anymore. She smiled when she entered the small shop. 'If Kahlan was here she would ask me to try horrible cloths, for sure. Dresses or skirts or stupid things like that...' Her smile faded when she noticed there was no leather here. 'Well, it's a new start after all.'
Cara entered in Aydindril lately in the morning, without being noticed. Now the only thing she had to do was to find Kahlan. But Aydindril is a big city so she decided to ask for the Palace. Apparently, she was still in her room, which made Cara smile. The Palace was as huge as beautiful. But she found Kahlan's bedroom easily. Well, the Mother Confessor's room, because that's what was written on the big door.
She thought nothing could erase her smile and prevent her from being happy. But that was before she opened the door. She should have known at that time of the day the Mother Confessor couldn't be asleep. She had too much work.
Kahlan was naked on her bed and a man was on top of her. And even if she noticed Kahlan wasn't enjoying at all, the scene broke her heart.
"Cara?!" Kahlan panicked. But it was too late, she was already gone. And she had to finish what she began with that guy, she couldn't go after her. And then she would have to take a bath because she felt dirty.
Cara couldn't believe it. She wanted so badly to go back to her, but now... with that man... 'Love is so stupid'
"So you're back?" Denee asked behind her.
"As you can see."
"Not as a Mord'Sith?"
"Not as a Mord'Sith."
"So tell me, what did she say?" Denee asked with a smile. Cara could even tell there was excitement in her voice.
"We didn't talk much. I left."
"What?! Are you kidding me?!"
"Well, she's having sex with another guy right now."
"Oh I see. I'm sorry. But you don't have the right to blame her. She has no choice."
"I know that. I don't blame her. It's just we didn't really talk about this before. I guess we shouldn't have avoided the subject."
"It's not the first time she does that and..."
"Thank you I feel much better now."
"She acts like it's nothing in front of others. But I know that makes her sick. I can tell you the first thing she'll do after is going to the bathroom. I think she needs you to be there for her."
"You're one of the last person I thought would support Kahlan and I."
"I want the best for her that's all."
"Hang on, did you just say I was the best?" Cara's smile was back.
"No, I said what's best for her. And there's nothing better than the comfort of someone you love. And I don't know why but she does love you. I can't give her that kind of comfort. I have to go now. Don't you dare run away from her." She instantly had that look on her face which made Cara think 'Confessors all the same!'
"Mord'Sith never run away. I mean I never run away."
"Good."
"Thank you." Cara said hesitantly.
"You can keep that for you, I only do that for Kahlan." Denee said.
"I meant thank you for staying by her side knowing she loves someone you hate. You could have hated her for that."
"My sister means everything to me I'll never stop to love her."
"Glad to hear that." Cara said before she left.
"Can you hurry please!" That wasn't a question, that was an order to her mate.
"I'm doing my best, Confessor."
"I told you not to call me like that."
"I'm sorry."
Kahlan waited for him to come inside her. 'Maybe I should choose someone quicker.' Once that was done, she dressed up and left the room quickly. She felt an urge to vomit, as usual after having sex. It wasn't a rape, but Kahlan couldn't help but feel the same. She hated each second he was touching her and she hated the lust in his look.
Kahlan certainly not expected Cara to be in the bathroom. I was quite awkward.
"I'm sorry you saw that" Kahlan said finally.
"It's not really what I wanted to see, it's true. But I knew that would happen sooner or later so... Anyway, I've missed you so much, come here."
"No Cara, I think it's better if I wash myself before you touch me."
"Well, if that's what you want..." Cara said with a big grin before she pulled Kahlan in the bath. She took off her clothes and joined her. "I'll take care of your cleaning personally." she whispered.
"I'd love that." Kahlan kissed her passionately. "How did you do to come here?"
"Your sister told me there wouldn't be any problem between you and me if I stopped to be Mord'Sith."
"What?! No I don't want you to do that."
"Hey Kahlan it's ok, that doesn't change anything."
"Are you kidding me?!"
"We planned to live here together so I wouldn't have the kind of life Mord'Sith have anyway. No Lord Rahl, no D'Hara or anything."
"Cara you were, you are and you'll always be a Mord'Sith."
"Whoa sometimes I can't believe you two are sisters." Cara smiled.
"How can you find that funny?! Listen to me Cara," Kahlan said very seriously before she put a hand on her throat. "I love a Mord'Sith understood? And it's not just about D'Hara or Lord Rahl. It's a way of life." Kahlan whispered with a threatening tone.
"Why is that important for you?" Cara was confused.
"Because I love you. Each part of you. Cara I told you I won't leave Aydindril but if that means you deny who you are then we'll leave."
"Are you foolish enough to think I'll let you do that? You can't leave there's only one Confessor after you."
"And you?! Are you foolish enough to think I'll let you do that?!"
"So what am I supposed to do?!" she yelled upset. "Go away from you? I can't! And I'm a big girl, I can choose my own life."
"If my sister asked you this, then lie to her. She can't read your mind. Tell her what she wants to hear and be my Mord'Sith.""
"Alright. I am a Mord'Sith. Satisfied?"
"Yes I am. I don't want you to hate me later for this."
"You're stupid if you think I can hate you for that. So you love my Mord'Sith side?" Cara smiled.
"As if you didn't know!" The Confessor rolled her eyes with a smile. "Now can my Mord'Sith kiss me again?"
"Not before you're clean." Cara teased her.
"You know the Council is waiting for me."
"Oh really? That's too bad because I have other plans for you."
"Are you going to kidnap me?" The Confessor giggled.
"Kidnap you?! I'd never do such thing!" Cara said innocently. "No, I'm only going to clean you as I said. Except I will do that in my own way. First you need to take off your cloths."
"As you wish." Kahlan did as she was told. Cara instantly slipped her hands all over her body. "I prefer your touch."
"I'm sure you do Confessor."
"Why the hell can't that guy touch me the way you do?"
"Because I'm unique."
"And very skilled..."
"True. I think you deserve your kiss now."
"Yeah, and what if you don't deserve yours?"
"Deserving or not, doesn't change anything."
"Definitely a Mord'Sith!" Kahlan said before they kissed passionately. "One week was too long" she continued as they stopped to breathe again. Her smile started to fade away as she felt Cara's body tenses. "What is it?"
"I'm just wondering, when is the next time I'll have to share you? And for how long?"
"Don't think about it, you're killing yourself."
"I can't help."
"Every morning until I'm pregnant."
"Alright, I want to be there next time."
"What?! It's not a good idea. I don't want you to watch this."
"Well there's something you might don't know about Mord'Sith. We don't like to share. Actually it's more than that, we absolutely hate it. Except of course between us, sisters of the Agiel and Lord Rahl. So my crazy Mord'Sith mind that you love so much had an idea."
"An idea?"
"Yes. I will be the one who's gonna make love to you."
"Cara, there's something I have to explain to you. Two women can't have children together."
"Really? What a surprise!" She answered ironically. "No what I was thinking is your mate is going to cum inside you, but this is the only seconds he'll touch you. And while he'll do that you will be focused on me because as I said, I'm the one who'll make love to you."
"There's only Cara Mason to think about something like that. This is why if the stupid idea of changing who you are crosses your mind again, I'll kill you."
"And I'm sure your mate would replace me easily..."
"No. But Richard would. I just have to ask and he's back to me." Kahlan teased her, knowing perfectly Cara hated when she talked about Richard and her.
"He's not that good you know."
"How can you know that? In my dreams he was always perfect."
"In your dreams maybe. But the time I asked him for sex he said no, even after I kissed him. This guy must have a problem. No one can say no to me, unless..." Cara didn't have time to continue.
"Wait, when did this happen? When did you kiss him?"
"First day we met. You know in the future."
"He said no for me and by doing that he hurt your pride."
"It's not about pride."
"Of course it is. But that's not the question, I don't want to go back to him."
"There's no reason to Confessor. I'll never stop to be who I am."
After that they didn't use their tongue to talk. Kahlan tried to control her breathing as Cara was kissing and licking her body. But that was before...
"Kahlan, they're waiting for..." Denee stopped at what she saw and put a hand on her eyes. "Please tell I didn't see that." she whispered.
"You love that, don't you?" Cara rolled her eyes.
"Love what? seeing you two together like that? Not really."
"No, take her away from me."
"She is the Mother Confessor in case you wouldn't have noticed. She has important work to do."
"I'll be here in a minute Denee."
"Yeah you'd rather take your sexual urges for yourselves, you two." She said before she left.
Kahlan gave Cara a sorry look and left the bath. Cara sighed and followed her.
"So I guess I won't see you 'till tonight."
"I'm sorry, I have responsibilities."
"Ok."
"That's all? You would let me go as easily as that?"
"For now yes. Don't be disappointed. You know it's not about what I want."
"Yeah I know. Look what you've done! My dress is all wet!"
"Maybe we should wait until it's dry." Cara whispered seductively before she began to kiss her neck.
"No Cara that is not going to happen. We have to take back our sexual urges remember?" she giggled.
"That's too bad."
"I know. Now I have to go to my bedroom for another dress thanks to you."
"Need help to dress up?"
"You are the last person I would ever ask help to dress up!"
"Why's that?"
"Because you would undress me rather than dress me up."
"It's a shame you don't trust me."
Kahlan reduced the distance between the two and whispered while her hands were traveling over her body "Because I know you."
"You do?" Cara closed her eyes at the contact of Kahlan's lips on her neck. She perfectly knew Kahlan was just teasing her, waiting for her to kiss her. And then she would say something like "see, I know you by heart." But teasing or not, she couldn't help but take her lips with hers.
Denee was waiting for Kahlan to get out of the bathroom but apparently she was taking her time. And when she did get out wearing only her underwear Denee raised an eyebrow.
"What are you doing?"
"I need another dress." Kahlan blushed a little.
"I admit, it's my fault." Cara grinned.
"What a surprise. Now let's go." She took Kahlan's hand and led her to the room. "Seriously Kahlan you're the Mother Confessor, you can't act like that."
"What are you talking about?"
"Before she came back you were doing things right, but now you'd rather have sex with her than work, as you're supposed to do."
"We were not having sex. If we were, she wouldn't have let me go like that. Doesn't mean she liked to be disturbed." Kahlan smiled.
"You look better than when I saw you this morning. To be honest, I was afraid she wouldn't come back to you."
"Wait, what did you just say?! You were afraid she wouldn't come back? I thought you hated her."
"As long as she makes you happy, I don't hate her. It doesn't mean I like her."
"Since when my little sister started to lie to me? What made you change your mind about her?"
"I didn't change my mind! I trust you that's all. And she's not a Mord'Sith anymore."
"That was not fair from you to ask her that. People don't have to know who she is exactly."
"Who she was. Look I know she's important for you. Important enough to make you forget what she's done. And what her friend has done."
"I'll never forget Denee."
Then the day really started for Kahlan and she knew it would be a long one, knowing at the end of that day she would have what she wants. Who she wants. She would probably tired the next day. She smiled to herself.
Yeah not a long chapter I know. The original one was longer, sorry.
