Hi, this is a new chapter. I hope you will enjoy it. Short chapter but the next one will be available soon =)

'What am I going to do now? Kahlan won't come back until tonight and I have absolutely nothing to do... Fight would be great but I don't think she would agree. She doesn't need to know after all. All I need is a strong man. I'm going to check in the military forces, I will probably find what I'm looking for there. I just have to keep in mind that I mustn't get in any trouble!'

It took her time to find the military forces. But she finally made it and she had a lot of choice for the man she would fight. She asked herself what would be better; just ask or upset them? In the end she asked the men to fight with her because of the 'no trouble' echoing in her head. At first they thought she wasn't serious, but they soon understood she was. Still they were reluctant to fight with a woman.

"I think you're too beautiful to be damaged."

"Obviously you're afraid to fight a woman."

"I can't deny it. Fights are not for girls."

"Really? And what is for us? Cooking, cleaning? Tell me"

"That's not what I meant. We are savages but women are too gorgeous, too sweet and way too perfect to do things like that."

"Are you telling me you see yourself as a savage?"

"Yes. We are all savages here. What we've seen, what we've done... I've fought and killed so many times. War made us animals."

"And what if I was an animal too? You don't know me. Maybe I've killed too."

"Really? If you're an animal too, then maybe I can do something for you."

"Great, thank you."

It took almost an hour before the guy said stop. He was exhausted. But Cara had to admit, she was too.

"You're an interesting woman. I thought only Confessors learnt to fight."

"And I thought you didn't want women to fight."

"You're not from here, are you? Because I don't think you're a Confessor."

"Why not?"

"Because you came here just to fight. Confessors avoid fights."

"I'm from D'Hara."

"D'Hara? It means we were enemies not so long ago."

"True, though I didn't pay too much attention to this war."

"I wish I could say the same thing. But I've lost too much, that's why I joined the military morces. In fact I had nothing to lose."

"Do you think I could join the forces?"

"Usually women are not allowed here. But you definitely know how to fight. You would be useful, it's true. But honestly I hope you won't. I meant what I said earlier about women. This is not for you."

"I can take care of myself. I am a big girl, you know? But don't worry, I am not going to join the forces. I'm too busy for that." Cara said. But she hoped the lessons wouldn't last.

"Anyway, whenever you want to do this again, just come here."

Cara raised an eyebrow and smiled.

"So sweet, you'll be waiting for me."

"Who said that? I'm not the only soldier here. I'm not interested by you, if this is what you think. You're gorgeous, it's true, but I will never, ever, betray the two women of my life."

"Two?"

"My wife and my little girl." He said with a bright smile.

Cara couldn't help but slapped his head.

"Then what are you doing here? You said you had nothing to lose. What if you died? What would happen to them? Who's going to take care of your wife and kid?"

"Why does everyone ask me this? Well I guess you're going to think I'm crazy but it feels like a single thought of them makes me invincible. I've been close to death more than I can remember and each time I swore to myself I would see their face again."

"You're right, I think you're crazy."

Cara had the same conversation with Kahlan earlier. Though she's the one who said her love for Kahlan was too strong to let her be confessed, she didn't believed it at all. Love didn't save that guy, it was nothing but determination.

"I just want a better world for my wife and my daughter."

"A better world for them would be you being next to them."

"But they're proud of me. And, truth be told, I get back home every night, even if I'm not allowed to."

"Maybe you should all get back home at night instead of staying here."

"So you believe me when I say my family makes me stronger?"

"Few years ago I wouldn't have believed you, but now I do. For many years I've only fought for myself and my own cause, but now I know fighting for someone makes you stronger. I've got someone too actually."

"What kind of man is he?"

"It's a girl."

"A girl? So we're not talking about love here."

"Yes we are." Cara rolled her eyes. "Are you that kind of people?"

"What kind of people?"

"You think two women can't be together, don't you?"

"I didn't say that. It's just a bit... strange."

"I love her, I can't change that."

"Does she feel the same?"

"I think so. Well I hope so. But I'm not sure it's going to work between us."

"Why? You said you two loved each other."

"She's everything I'm not; sweet, a bit shy, more or less innocent, calm, patient, kind and lovely and strong and -"

"Ok I think I got it." The soldier stopped her, afraid it would take the rest of the day.

"I don't understand how she can even like someone like me. I don't deserve her. However I don't want to let her go, and I won't let anyone take her away from me."

"Whoever you are, this is her choice. You can't decide for her who she deserves. If she loves you then she has her reasons. Are you together?"

"Yes, we are."

"I have a feeling of mine that it'll be ok." he said with a smile on his face.

"I have to go now. Thank you for the fight."

"Don't forget, it can't work if you don't believe in it. Don't think about this and be yourself, I'm sure this is what she wants."

'You fool, I'm a Mord'Sith and she's a Confessor, if we both remain who we are there will be a problem. I don't want Kahlan to change but I have to change myself to be worth her. She's the Mother Confessor after all. And why the hell am I talking to him about my private life?!'

But he was right about Kahlan's choice. And when Kahlan was telling her she loved her, Cara knew she wasn't lying. But there was this unreasonable fear inside her. The fear to be left alone by the only one who really matters to her. She used to be strong; she could do everything on her own, not needing anyone. It took her a long time to get here and now with Kahlan it was all gone.

She spent the rest of the day walking through the city. It was different from D'Hara. Almost all the walls were white, as if it could make things more pure. When she stopped at a tavern, she heard interesting things.

"They say the Mother Confessor is gone."

"Not so surprising. The Confessors who chose her were novices."

"And which one are they going to choose now that they're all dead?" Cara asked behind their back.

"This is the only reason why she's still here. Or were still here. And now who's going to rule Aydindril?"

People got intrigued by the conversation about the Mother Confessor. When Cara arrived they were three and now they were more than ten.

"She is not gone." Cara said.

"Are you saying I'm a liar? I was here when she left."

"Are you a councilor?" she tried to keep calm.

"What makes you think that?" He said with a smile.

"Because she left the Council and the fact that you were here makes you a councilor."

"And how could you know she left the Council?"

"Because I talked to her right after she left you. She told me about your clever plans. I admit, I must congratulate you all." She laughed, which didn't please him. "By the way, she changed her mind after our conversation."

"What did you two talked about?"

He wasn't happy to hear this. He wanted the Mother Confessor to leave. But Cara was definitely enjoying this. She just shrugged.

"Girl stuff." She winked at him.

"Girl stuff? She wants to stay because of girl stuff? Are you kidding me?"

"No, I wouldn't dare. You're a councilor after all."

"I think I've already seen you before."

"I'm the one the Mother Confessor asked to train the wizards. The physical part."

"Another proof she shouldn't be the Mother Confessor."

"Guys you heard just like me, right? This was an invitation to fight." Cara said to the crowd.

They all approved.

"I trust the Mother Confessor, if she chose her she must have her reasons." a guy said. Now everyone was looking at them.

"I don't agree. I want her to leave like he said."

"Ok let's make a deal. I represent the Mother Confessor and you the Council. Who wants to take the bet?"

Twelve people supported Cara (or the Mother Confessor) while eighteen supported the councilor.

"Come on boy, don't be afraid of a girl."

"I'm not afraid, I'm excited."

"Good."

The man tried to hit her face but she grabbed her fist without any difficulty.

"Innkeeper, do you want us to get out of here? I think this is necessary."

"You think?" he answered. "Well I don't. I think you are surestimating yourself, you bitch."

"This is exactly what I wanted you to say." Cara said with a bright smile. 'What a great day, full of fights like good old days... And I have a chance to defend Kahlan's honor. Such a great day so far, though it didn't start well.' "You can't say I didn't warn you."

As Cara was talking he was still trying to hit her, unsuccessfully. It was kind of humiliating since he couldn't reach her though she wasn't paying much attention to him at the moment.

"What happen if I win?" The blonde asked.

"I will admit she was right."

"What?! Just because I defeated someone as weak as you? That can't be a proof. No, it's too easy I can't accept. I love challenge and this is definitely not one."

"If she wins you will apologize to the Mother Confessor."

"Glad to know some people here are smart. She's a good Confessor."

"How could you know that?"

"I know her. I've met her once when she was with the Seeker on their quest."

"Yes! That is the problem. She should have been here for us."

"She was the Confessor linked to the Seeker, wasn't she? Rules are rules."

"Rules changed when all the Confessors died."

"She cares about Aydindril more than anyone. She cares about each life here."

The more they were talking the more they both grew angry. But Cara made an impressive effort to contain her anger.

"If I win the Mother Confessor resign."

"Alright. You can ask anything, it doesn't matter."

"Anything?"

"Anything." Cara agreed.

"Ok then you'll suck my cock." He laughed.

"I'll be your sex slave." She blew him a kiss. "For the rest of my life"

"How can I lose then?"

Cara didn't want to lose time with him, Kahlan would be back soon. But still it was funny. It was an occasion to fight for the Mother Confessor. They would be dead in D'Hara, and Darken Rahl would have made sure they suffer before finally go to the Underworld. But it was Aydindril here...

'I think I understand why he wanted Aydindril to be reduced to dust' Cara sighed. 'I'm glad he didn't though'

At first she made him believe he was stronger, and so he would win the bet. He truly thought she was about to become his sex slave. She even let him be on top of her. However, when he looked at her as if to say the victory was his, she gave him a blow between his legs. His dominant smile disappeared, replaced by a grimace of pain. Though most of people here wanted Cara to lose, they all laughed at what just happened.

"I'm sure you don't want anyone to touch your cock for now, do you? Did you really think you could beat me? All your moves are telling me what you're going to do next. You are too predictable. It didn't take me long to notice. That's why I said you could ask me anything. Now, I am sorry but I have to put an end to this." She said as she put herself on top of him. Few blows and it was over; his mouth was full of blood and he couldn't even get up. "I swear the next time I hear things like that about the Mother Confessors, I won't be that gentle." She looked at the man she just fought. "You'd better not forget that deal."
