A/N Another update for you guys. I think I'm going to bring the story to a finish soon, as I've begun to plan out how it's all going to end. I hope you enjoy these last few chapters!

Daryl POV

Daryl was anxious. He wanted to get out of the prison, go on a run, do anything to get away from his brother and the threat he posed to Beth. He wanted to take her away, too. Take her to a safer place, where Merle wouldn't be able to hurt her.

He grew less tense when Rick found him and asked him to go on a run. "We don't need any large amount of stuff, just a little bit to keep us goin'," Rick told him. "Bring someone along with ya, if you want."

Daryl nodded, immediately taking off to find Beth. He found the girl feeding Judith in her cell. "C'mon, give lil' ass kicker to Carol. We're goin' on a run."

Beth gave him a startled look, not expecting him to show up. "Alright, give me a minute." She stood up and took off looking for Carol, who was probably with all the children. She appeared again minutes later, and gave him a look. "Well, let's go then."

The two walked out to the courtyard and got one of the vehicles ready for their run. Daryl grabbed his crossbow, and made sure Beth had a gun and a knife. They grabbed what they would need for the run and left the prison. "So why'd you decide to take me on the run?" Beth questioned.

"Just thought it'd do ya good to get out of the prison," Daryl vaguely replied.

Beth nodded, accepting his answer. "Okay," she said. "Is everything alright? You kinda seem a bit on edge."

"It's just..." he trailed off, not able to put his thoughts into words. "I feel like somethin's goin' to go down at the prison, ever since those burned bodies showed up...somethin' just don't feel right to me."

Beth looked at him, trying to put together the pieces; what he was telling her now, what he'd said about Merle a few days ago, just before the burned bodies showed up..."Daryl, did Merle do this?" She took his silence as a yes. "You have to say something, tell Rick, tell the council. You can't let him get away with this!"

Daryl took his eyes off the road for a second to glance over at her. "Beth...I can't. He threatened to hurt more people. People I care about." He turned his eyes back on the road as they pulled over. "We'll stop here, walk in town. Don't want to make a noisy entrance in case of survivors."

The run went according to plan. They managed to get more canned food and a bit more baby formula for Judith. "We won't have to do another big run for a while, but I think we'll go to the warehouse we went on for our last huge supply run again. There's still a lot of stuff there," Daryl said once they were back in the car. Beth had grown silent. He could tell she wasn't pleased about their earlier conversation.

"We need to tell them, Daryl. You don't even have to be the one to do it. I'll go to my daddy; I can tell him I think it was Merle because I'd been hearing that he wanted to start killing the Woodbury people. We have to do something."

"You're goin' to put yourself in danger doin' that. We can't say anything, not yet."

Beth drew out an annoyed sigh. "Fine, when can we say something then? When more dead bodies show up? When all the Woodbury people are gone? We need to do something, Daryl!"

"We will," he promised, "but just not now." Beth rolled her eyes and leaned back in the seat. The last few minutes of the drive back to the prison were strangely quiet.

When they got out of the car back at the prison, Beth gave Daryl a hug. "I'm sorry I kinda yelled back there. I just wish we could do something."

He wrapped her arms around her in response and gave her a light kiss on the forehead. "I know you do; I want to do something too. But we have to wait for the right time. I don't want to put you at danger. I couldn't forgive myself if somethin' happened to you 'cause I told you too much."

She stepped up on her tip-toes and gave him a soft kiss. "It's okay. No one's going to get hurt." With that they went back into the prison, placed the new goods in storage, and went on with their day.
