I DON'T OWN ANYTHING!
Chapter Sixteen: Gaslight
"So what's our game plan?" General Ross aka Red Hulk asks as he lends his base for the Avengers AS Avengers Tower is all but destroyed.
"We'll the first thing we need to find out is where the hell is Osborn's base of operations as it right now he and the symbiote are vulnerable." Spider-Man said as he was very determined to figure out where The Goblin Underground is located so he can stop him and save his family.
"The problem is that I can't decrypt the damn thing!" Tony Stark added as he tried in vain the break the Goblins' communication.
"Hmmm…interesting." Leader says as he looks over the signal on his own computer along with his connection to the internet.
"What is it?" Agent Venom asks his fellow Thunderbolt.
"This signal is untraceable is because it's a parasite signal, one that leeches off a primary signal, but the problem is that we need to check over signal in the city. For all we know Osborn has it leeching off NYPD scanners or even Stark Industries." Leader explains the signal's nature.
"A madman with parasite using a parasite signal? Fitting." Agent Venom joked.
"Son of a bitch! Of course it's a parasite signal! If that's the case, time for some good ol' hacking!" Iron Man said as he sets his armor to search through every communication signal in the New York area.
"This will take forever! Why can't we find a Goblin thug and beat the-" Kaine complained before suddenly he hushed my Aracely.
"Hush! He will be done in three…two…one!" Aracely said as if she knew Tony was going to find the correct signal.
"I found it! Now the signal belongs to…my god!" Tony Stark says in shock.
"What is it?" Peter asks as Iron Man shows him and the other heroes the signal's source.
"Of course…" Peter says as he realizes the now obvious location where the Goblin Underground is located.
Meanwhile in New York's sewers, Carlie and Lizard made their way with Lizard leading the way to find their own way to the Goblin Underground. They then found several empty crates with an "A" logo on the side of them.
"Why is thissss logo ssssso familiar?" Lizard asks himself as the looks through the crates.
"I know what it is. It's Alchemax." Carlie growled as she began to realize Osborn is located near the first building he attacked.
"Well whatever isss in thessse cratesss, I ssssmell ssssomething toxic." Lizard says as she smells whatever scent is leftover from the crates.
"I wonder how deep is Osborn imbedded into Alchemax?" Carlie thinks as she tries to use her detective skills to put the pieces together.
While Lizard and Carlie try to figure out the current mystery, Tiberius Stone stands at the top level of Alchemax Towers as he looks over the current chaos of the Goblin Undergound.
"So when are going to do the test run?" Stones asks the madman.
"Boss man says in a few minutes and he thanks you for giving us that tech." Jack O Lantern/Hobgoblin asks as he comes from the shadows.
"Well I'm giving you a favor by getting Allen and her brat out of the way so I can take over and do my own research." Stone grins sinisterly as he remembers the deal he took with Osborn behind Liz Allen's back so he can continue his own bioweapons research.
"Well we got a helicopter for you and you can hightail it out of here." Hobgoblin informs Stone as he leaves in a secret elevator behind a bookshelf.
"And that's my cue to get out of this damn city." Stone walks off so he gets to the private helicopter and leave New York.
Back with the heroes, they were all shocked and angry that Osborn would locate himself in the one company that has the most ties to him in the form of Alchemax.
"They were right under our noses this whole time!" Mania yelled in shock as she was angry at the fact they could've found the villains sooner than expected.
"Norman is always trying to find ways to insult us in some shape or form." Sarah said as she knew all too well how much of an egomaniac her biological truly is as her anger towards him has reached his peak with her brother's death.
"So what the hell we doing now?! Let's take the bastard down!" Kaine hissed as he too want payback on Osborn.
"No we wait…" Eddie Brock interjected as he sat in the dark of Ross' base.
"And why the hell we should do that!" Flash demanded at his reluctant ally.
"Shhh Flash, we're getting some exposition here." Deadpool told his "teammate".
"The Carnage suit is also planning something, and that's the hand we need to see to be revealed. Think Osborn is bad? Just wait for Carnage to come." Brock said as he forms a fist forms as his symbiote surrounds it.
At the said Goblin Underground/Alechmax, Norman stood proudly at the remaining Goblin thugs with Hobgoblin and Menace standing next him as his new "Honor Guard" while Jackal and Carrion stood in the back..
"Men!" Osborn started his as his minions look in silence "We may have lost several members, but thanks to the good doctor, we have a way to single handily win our war against the heroes and make New York City ours!"
In that moment, the ghostly remnant of Cletus Kasady observes Osborn's speech with intrigue "WhAT aRe yoU Up tOo NoRMaN? SeEMS LIkE YouR cULT buDDIes Are gOing cRazY."
"And like any good event, we will time it for our liberation from our heroes!" Osborn pointed to screen as it shows a three minuet timer as it countdown. "So says your king!"
"HAIL TO THE KIND! HAIL KING OSBORN!" The Goblin Thugs cheers in a manic fashion.
Back with Carlie and Lizard, they continue their trek until Lizard sniffs something that catches the symbiotic Carlie Cooper.
"What is it?" Carlie asks.
"Hide!" Lizard orders as Carlie complies while seeing several Goblin thugs walk down a tunnel holding containers full of cylinders with green liquid.
"Is that what I think it is?!" Carlie whispers to her reptilian ally.
"Unfortunately it'sss what you think it issss, Goblin Formula…" Lizard hisses as they observes they Goblin Thugs.
"We need to follow them!" Carlie whispers as her symbiote seems to be warning her about what the Thugs are doing.
"Agree, but we need to keep out of ssssight." Lizard told Carlie as these Thugs seemed have better weaponry than usual thugs.
"I think I can do one better." Carlie grins as she commands her symbiote to replicat the uniform of a Goblin Guard.
"Clever, now I will use my reptilian to hide from sssight." Lizard told Carlie as he crawls into the shadows.
With that Carlie follows the Thugs as one turns and asks her "The hell you doing here? The boss wants to something done before the final preparations?"
"He pretty much wants someone from HQ to overview the preparations." Carlie improvises her cover while Lizard watches just in case something goes bad.
"Ok then…well we're here." The Thug pointed to a dark green/black device that is steaming off Goblin Serum.
"My god, I think that'sss a gas bomb!" Carlie hisses as she knew this is her chance to stop whatever the Goblin Undergound is up too.
"You okay gal?" The thug asks.
"Yeah, I hunky f*cking dory!" Carlie growls as he unleashes her symbiote to attack the thugs.
"A brassssh tactic, but no need to hid!" Lizard sighed as he lunges from the shadows.
"Crap heroes! Time to get the shots the doc gave us!" The one of the thugs said as they inject a vial into their veins as they mutate into Goblin like monsters.
"Bring it bitch!" The second mutant Goblin Thug growled before Carlie/Scream lunges at him.
"We'll stop you!" Carlie/Scream roars as she slashes into the Thugs flesh.
'Guess I too have to resort to violence!' Lizard thought as he fights to other Goblin mutant.
They then continue their fight, with Carlie plunging her symbiotic tendrils into one mutant while Lizard knocks another unconscious, before the device began to activate on their own.
"What's it doing!?" Carlie interrogated the dying Goblin mutant.
"It'll…make people…see like how the King…sees" The mutants gurgles out blood before dying.
"We're too late…" Lizard said in fear before suddenly the device sets off.
Back in the surface, Ross' base sets off alarms, catching the heroes attention.
"Which alarm is that?!" Ross orders Leader.
"It's reading several explosive forces at several locations!" Leader says as he looks at what the alarms are reading.
"More bombs?!" Spider-Man questions.
'No…it's a gas!" Leader says in shock.
"Tony, we need footage now!" Spider-Man asks his ally with Iron Man complying as he sets several holographic screens to show the heroes as they look to see several citizens running from aclouds of green gas.
"Oh god no…" Peter gasps as the saw some citizens coughing from the gas before laughing manically as their faces start to morph to be Goblin-like.
